Initially, I wasn't labeled as a Stray Dog. Levi hadn't abandoned me yet, and the Noah family had no clue they'd dumped me into such a nightmare.
The first time they forced me to entertain a guest, I fought back hard enough to hurt him. That's when Clare stepped in to save me.
By that point, everyone marked as Stray Dogs had united, planning our rebellion against St. Chaim Reform Academy. Since I was the newest arrival, they picked me as their spokesperson.
They shielded me from the academy's cruelty.
They gave me every piece of damaging evidence they'd gathered against St. Chaim, all so I could escape safely.
As long as I made it out, even if the academy worked overtime to bury the truth, every "student" would know: fighting back was possible.
My voice cracked with raw emotion. "After I escaped that place, nothing else held any meaning for me. I just wanted to honor their memory, live the life they'd dreamed of for me, and fulfill their final wishes."
