Sallie's POV
"So it's all because of me? You guys are blaming everything on me?" Jill's laughter rang out, dripping with bitter sarcasm.
With everything exposed now, Jill dropped her act completely. Her features contorted with spite. "Fine, I'll admit it—my system can mess with people's minds, but it can't puppet your hearts.
"If you all really believed in Sallie, would I have gotten anywhere? Just look at Levi and Johan—they're living proof. Your doubt in Sallie is what opened the door for me."
Jill's brutal honesty tore away the Noah family's final shield, leaving them raw and ashamed.
Draven's face darkened more than anyone else's. He roared, "Shut up!"
His hand cracked across Jill's cheek with a sharp slap. "This is all on you. Without your interference, Sallie and I would still be together, and I wouldn't have..." His glare burned with rage as he stared her down.
I watched Jill recoil—Draven had never laid a hand on her before, and fury blazed in her eyes.
