Sallie's POV
When Denzel spotted me, he didn't look surprised at all.
He actually got up and pulled out a chair, gesturing for me to sit. But I stayed right where I was, keeping my distance.
Todd had made it crystal clear—Denzel was dangerous, someone I needed to steer clear of. "I'm sorry. I've got business to handle today," I said, my gaze sweeping the room.
What caught me off guard was how empty the restaurant was—just Denzel and me. Something wasn't right. I looked back at him.
He still gripped the chair, that polite smile plastered on his face. "If the business you're referring to is meeting a supplier, then that would be me," he said.
I gave him a doubtful look. I hadn't connected with the supplier I was supposed to meet today, but I'd checked out a photo online. No way that could be Denzel.
Denzel caught my skepticism and his smile grew warmer. "The King family from Valoria beats any other supplier you might've chosen, Ms. Isabelle."
