Phoebe's POV
I took the book from Timothy and scribbled down my thoughts.
[I won't do that to him.] "We can't predict what's coming, but knowing Perry like I do, you'll probably need to give him hell sometimes."
Timothy shrugged like it was no big deal, then dropped down beside me on the makeshift bed.
[What about Samuel and Justin?] I nudged Timothy and showed him my note. I'd already asked Perry, but I needed to hear it again.
"Relax, they're okay. Perry just dealt with them differently." Timothy's laugh made my stomach twist.
I wasn't laughing. My brows pulled together, and I mouthed silently, 'What?'
"Perry stuck them with grunt work. No more patrol duty, no more being your bodyguards. He's getting you new warriors." Timothy winked like this was good news.
But I don't want that. My frown deepened. Samuel and Justin were just starting to feel familiar. I didn't want some uptight strangers who'd only take orders from Perry.
