Ajax's POV
The cabins carry the scent of pine cleaner and fresh linens. Sean and I had intended to simply air out the rooms and stock them with basic supplies for the Midnight pack enforcers arriving this afternoon, but Sally had other plans. She insisted on personally inspecting every detail.
Neither Sean nor I complained. Watching her move through these spaces like she owns them sends warmth spreading through my chest.
She stands near the window now, fine-tuning the curtains until afternoon sunlight filters perfectly across the crisp bedding. Her hair shimmers in the golden light, revealing threads of amber and bronze that make my breath catch. I lose track of my assigned tasks completely.
"Think they'll approve?" she asks, turning toward me while giving a pillow another unnecessary fluff.
