[PoruShark Writer's Note: At this point in the story, Asami Nakaoka's senior police officer, Matsushima, hasn't left Taiei Shopping Mall and hasn't become undead yet.]

"ROOAAARRRR!"
"Where are we going now, Nach-sensei?" Saeko said as she looked at Nach—or, to be more accurate, averted her gaze from seeing Saki toss Tominaga and Hogosha off the rooftop of the high-rise hotel.
Saki's deafening roar, even louder than the helicopter rotor, could only mean one thing: she would chase after them no matter where they went.
With that thought, Nach wouldn't dare fly toward the direction of Takagi Estate and endanger everyone there. Instead, he decided to turn Saki's threat into a bit of an advantage.
Looking at Saeko beside him, Nach answered quietly:
"We're going to make this situation even more complicated than it already is."

At Taiei Shopping Mall, in the morning during Saki's attack at Tominaga Hotel.
"What's the meaning of this, Shido-san?" Matsushima said as she stepped forward—her own revolver on hand—to shield everyone behind her and confront Shido, who was aiming his revolver at them.
—BANG!—
Shido fired a warning shot aimed above, proving that the revolver he stole from a police officer—one who helped his group escape and led them to the shopping mall, only to later be fed to the undead—was indeed loaded, unlike Matsushima's, which was nothing but an empty bluff.
"We got no use for those who aren't willing to cooperate with us," Shido said, aiming his revolver once more at the people who had sheltered and welcomed them when they arrived at the shopping mall last night.
"Cooperate? You mean those who aren't willing to be your disciples, right?"
Just as Mitsushima said, Shido had indeed turned the majority of the survivors at the shopping mall into his disciples within the span of a single night.
Shido's group didn't only include Takashi, the delinquent Tsunoda, and a dozen of his students—the P.E. teacher Takayama had also joined him, along with twenty of his surviving students. Not to mention that most of Mitsushima's group had also sided with Shido, believing in his schemes, deceiving words, and false promises.
What was left of Mitsushima's group were her junior police officer, Asami Nakaoka; the shaved-head man, Hiro Tamaru; a pair of elderly couples; and Morita, who had been beaten up, his face still swollen.
"Disciples? I'm merely guiding everyone onto the path of salvation—to triumph against the undead and attain what they desire the most in this chaos."
Surrounded and cornered by students and survivors armed with knives, hammers, and other makeshift weapons scavenged from the shopping mall, Mitsushima's group was forced to surrender.
"Tie them up and bring them to the rooftop," Shido said, intending to make a demonstration of what would happen to those who refused to cooperate.
"Aren't you a teacher as well, Takayama-san? Are you just going to blindly follow that bastard?"
"It's all for the sake of the students," Takayama muttered—not only as an excuse to Mitsushima, but also to ease his own conscience as guilt slowly crept in, realizing what Shido was planning to do. Yet despite his growing guilt, he continued to drag Mitsushima after Shido, unsure of what else to do amid fear and the realization that the undead outbreak had already spread throughout all of Tokonosu City.
"You're really cute, Asami-chan," Tsunoda said, groping Asami's breasts as he grabbed her from behind.
"Can I have her instead, Shido-san?" he added, earning a terrified look from Asami and a furious glare from Mitsushima.
"We already have enough for the demonstration, so do what you want with that one, Tsunoda-kun," Shido said—not only approving Tsunoda's desire, but mocking Mitsushima as well.
"Don't you dare touch Asami, you bastards!"
Despite Mitsushima's threat, Tsunoda, together with three other boys, dragged Asami away.
"I can't believe you would take part in all of this, Komuro," Morita grumbled, glancing over his shoulder at Takashi, who had tied him up.
"Don't blame me, Morita. Blame yourself for trying to stand up for those girls who don't even care about you."
"You're trash, Komuro. No wonder Miyamoto chose Igou over you—Argh!"
"Don't you dare compare me to Hisashi!" Takashi shouted as he kicked Morita from behind, knocking him to the floor, then continued to beat him mercilessly as his insecurity—born from Rei always comparing him to Hisashi—flared up

Arriving at the rooftop of the fourth floor of the shopping mall, Shido made Matsushima and the survivors from her group who had sided with him watch what would happen if they ever dared to go against him.
"You freaking high school students! At least show mercy to your elders!" Hiro shouted while being dragged by the male students toward the edge of the rooftop along with the elderly couple.
Morita, on the other hand, barely had the strength to resist as Takashi dragged him along.
"You think you're better than me? Try saying that again after I throw you off the rooftop!" Takashi shouted, his face twisted with madness.
But before Takashi could gather the resolve to do what he intended, the loud sound of a helicopter rotor caught his attention—and everyone else's on the rooftop.
Looking toward the source of the sound, they all saw a helicopter heading straight for them.
"Hey! Over here!"
"Please help us!"
"Get us out of here!"
"Bring us somewhere safe!"
All the students stopped what they were doing—even Takashi—and shouted desperately to get the helicopter's attention, cheering in belief that they were finally being rescued as the helicopter hovered above the shopping mall.
"What's this about now?" Mitsushima said, confused as a private helicopter landed on the rooftop.
"Nach-sensei?" Takayama exclaimed in disbelief upon recognizing Nach through the helicopter window.
"Why are you here?" he asked after Nach shut down the helicopter and stepped out.
"I'm here simply because Kyoko asked me to—but I don't see why I should rescue most of you."
"You think you're some kind of savior? Then hand over that helicopter, or I'll blow this woman's head off!"
