Chapter 99 - Safe Haven - Part 4 + Author's Note

Postponing their meeting for the day, Nach and Shizuka led their group to the designated infirmary within the mansion in response to Hiro and Asami's report about the elderly woman who had come with them from the shopping mall suddenly collapsing.

"So the bone marrow disease requires her to have regular blood transfusions. If it was a yellow bag they used for rheumatoid arthritis, then it must be a P.C. transfusion," Shizuka said, figuring out the elderly woman's illness from the few details the elderly man provided about his wife.

"Yes, that's it!"

"I'm so sorry to be such a bother… If I get some rest, I should feel a little better."

"You don't have to worry about a thing."

Seeing Shizuka act so gentle and caring—fully embodying her role as a school nurse—while reassuring the elderly couple was such a turn-on for Nach.

"Stop being perverted, will you?" Saya grumbled, kicking Nach on the shin after noticing his grin.

"I know, so you don't have to feel sad either," Nach replied, pampering Saya as usual by patting her head after noticing her solemn expression.

"I said stop treating me like a child!"

With Saya stepping back and hiding behind Saeko, Nach approached Shizuka to discuss how to handle the situation—more accurately, how much time the elderly woman still had.

"We need to act fast, Nach…" Shizuka whispered, explaining that the elderly woman wouldn't survive more than a few days without a transfusion, and that the stored blood plasma in clinics and hospitals was at risk of being ruined due to the power outage and backup generator failure caused by the EMP blast.

"Then we need to go today, right, Saya?" Nach asked, seeking her confirmation about moving up the date to raid Tokonosu Hospital.

In the original story of Highschool of the Dead, Saya was the one who mentioned that the elderly woman wouldn't last long without her maintenance due to the chaos of the undead outbreak. Although unspoken, that grim truth still lingered in her solemn expression.

"We'll raid the hospital anyway," Saya replied, before asking their butler to inform her mother and father to begin assembling men for the raid.

Speaking of the original story, Takashi was supposed to go through another pathetic drama about doubting whether to save the elderly woman or not—or so Nach thought while looking at Takashi sleeping on the bed beside Morita.

"Poor Komuro-kun," Shizuka said, telling Nach what had happened when Takashi woke up a day earlier. "We had to sedate him because he wouldn't calm down from his rampage each time he woke up."

Going back to a day before Nach woke up:

"ARGH—!"

Takashi woke up screaming in pain that coursed through his entire body. Then the memories of the hell he had been through came rushing back.

He remembered not only getting beaten up by Miku, but also witnessing Nach getting intimate with Saeko, Mitsushima, Yui, and Miku.

Although he didn't want to admit it, it aroused him intensely—as if he were watching multiple high-quality porn videos nonstop—until he lost control and climaxed in his pants, again and again.

That part of the memory made him hard, only for him to feel a sharper pain in his crotch.

Then came the memory of being tortured—burned, or rather smoked alive—which triggered him to vomit onto his bed.

He continued rolling around in discomfort until he fell off the bed, slamming his face onto the floor and injuring himself further.

Only then did Takashi notice that his entire head was wrapped in bandages, with only his right eye left uncovered.

The same was true for most of his body and his left arm.

With a growing sense of dread, Takashi gathered his strength, clinging to the bed as he pulled himself up and looked at his reflection in the tinted glass window.

The sight staring back at him—a beaten man bleeding through bandages—only deepened his grim realization.

Still, Takashi refused to accept what he already knew. With trembling hands, he frantically began unwrapping the bandages.

"WARGHH—!"

A loud, desperate scream echoed throughout the mansion as Takashi stared at his reflection—the left half of his face burned and still bleeding, his left ear completely gone along with half of his hair, his left eye grotesquely damaged, and his jaw partially exposed with teeth visible.

"PFFT—HAHAHA!"

A hysterical laugh—clearly mocking him—caught Takashi's attention and made him stop screaming.

On the bed beside his, Morita lay comfortably. Though he had a few broken ribs, a broken right arm, and half his body swollen and covered in bruises—injuries Takashi had inflicted—Morita couldn't have looked happier watching him suffer.

"Serves you right, trash bastard—HAHAHA!"

Morita continued laughing and mocking him, then delivered one final insult that struck like a finishing blow.

"With that kind of face, THERE'S NO FREAKING WAY MIYAMOTO WOULD CHOOSE YOU OVER HISASHI—!"

"YOU FUCKING BASTARD—!" Takashi snapped.

Overpowering the pain through sheer anger, Takashi jumped onto Morita, straddling him on the bed and strangling him with both hands without hesitation—without any thought except to kill.

"TAKE IT BACK—!"

Morita couldn't break free with his dominant arm broken, yet his expression didn't change as he continued laughing at the punishment Takashi had received for siding with Shido.

"Kill me for all I care… Even my death… won't fix your disgusting face…"

"WARGHHH—!"

Before Morita could die from strangulation—or Takashi could snap his neck—Shizuka, alerted by the screaming, rushed into the infirmary with several other students.

"Stop it already, Komuro-kun!"

Hisashi, together with Imamura, Takuzo, and Ishi, pulled Takashi away from Morita and threw him to the floor.

Takashi tried to get up and continue his rampage, desperate to vent his rage on anyone in front of him. But he froze when he noticed Rei and Saya.

Rei—the girl he loved—looked at him with disgust and fear.

Saya—his childhood friend—looked at him with pity, which only fueled his anger further.

Meanwhile, Kohta pointed a rifle at him, his cold eyes treating Takashi as if he were nothing more than a mindless undead.

"I'M NOT A FUCKING UNDEAD—!"

Takashi rushed toward Rei and Saya, crawling on the floor before pushing himself up to lunge at them.

But despite the danger, neither Hisashi's group rushed to shield Saya or Rei, nor did Kohta fire his rifle. They didn't need to—because Saya was more than ready to deal with Takashi herself.

"You only have yourself to blame for not getting off the bus with us that day—IDIOT!"

Gripping her shotgun by the barrel with both hands, Saya swung hard and struck Takashi across the right side of his face with the handle.

BAM!

The impact sent him crashing to the floor, unconscious.

Back to the present:

"It's a shame I didn't get to see that," Nach said, laughing as if it were a joke, though he genuinely regretted missing Saya's character development.

"Enough about him. We can think about how to deal with Takashi later," Saya said, drawing everyone's attention.

"Now let's discuss who will be coming to the raid on Tokonosu Hospital."

Author's Note:

Hey, everyone—it's UelUel, your lazy and lousy PoruShark writer.

Once again—I'm trying to write a new undead apocalypse book titled:

Apocalypse Survival Update

It will be based on this fanfic, with Nach as one of the male leads for the adult female leads—and a new male lead for the high school girls.

There's only one chapter for now, but could anyone give it a read and let me know what you think?

You'll have to search for it, though.

Also, please add it to your library to help support the collection.
