That was the way that the stories normally went. A simple progression of events, A leads to B, to C.
But Deacon knew for a fact that the chances of that being how his story went, were slim to none. At the end of the day, they were in a marriage of convenience, nothing more, nothing less.
They had agreed to keep their marriage in order to make their lives easier.
