Chapter 20: Arrival on the Desert Island
1,370 Words
"There's no need."
Nami gave a sly smile and pointed in a direction.
"I tricked this ship from three stupid pirates. Perfect. There are two men and two women, so we can travel in pairs."
Following her gaze, they indeed saw a ship slightly smaller than theirs, flying the Buggy Pirates' flag, anchored at the shore.
Ganyu, Luffy, and Zoro exchanged a glance, confirming that this was indeed the ship of the three unfortunate pirates they had rescued from the sea.
What three unlucky guys. First, they were tricked out of their treasure and ship by Nami. Then they inadvertently led the enemy to the island, indirectly causing the destruction of the Buggy Pirates.
If Buggy found out later that they were the ones who brought about the disaster, he would never let them off the hook.
"In that case, let's set off. I'll get on Nami's ship, and you two can use your original ship."
With two men and two women, there was no need for further arrangements. Everyone nodded in agreement and prepared to board the ships.
At this moment.
"Wait."
Nami called out to the three of them. "Where is your next destination?"
Destination?
Upon hearing this, a look of bewilderment appeared on the faces of the three of them almost simultaneously.
"Well, whatever. I'll just go wherever the road takes me."
Nami sighed.
Well, she wasn't very familiar with this area either.
Even a genius navigator like her couldn't memorize the entire East Blue route.
What about a nautical chart for the East Blue?
Those maps mostly only marked some of the more famous islands. More complete and accurate charts were only available to the Marines and nobles.
"Hehehehe! We're setting sail!"
With a cheerful shout from Luffy, the two small sailboats, sailing side by side, finally set sail.
"Have a safe journey, our benefactors."
A group of residents, led by the town mayor, gathered on the shore, watching the two small boats depart.
Until they completely disappeared from sight.
Night was falling.
Ganyu lay on the deck, looking at Nami, who was sleeping with her arms tightly wrapped around her.
It's too… close.
And why did you have to hold my hand like that? Don't you know your own strength?
Feeling the soft, squeezed sensation on the back of her hand, Ganyu's heart fluttered, and inappropriate images flashed through her mind.
Only now did she realize, after many days, that she was fundamentally different from a normal woman.
It could only be said that she was so deeply immersed in the role she played in this body that she almost forgot her original gender before she transmigrated.
However, even thinking about it now was just nonsense.
"Ganyu, are you asleep?"
Suddenly, a low voice came from the side.
Ganyu recognized Luffy's voice and replied, "What's wrong?"
Sailing on the vast ocean, someone often needed to keep watch at night, and this was Luffy's shift.
"I'm so bored all by myself. Zoro's asleep and he's ignoring me. Can you talk to me for a bit?"
"Hmm…" Ganyu pondered for a while. Thinking that she couldn't fall asleep anytime soon anyway, she might as well chat with Luffy.
Her body could function without sleep for days and nights without problems. After all, she was a celestial beast, a Qilin, which was different from humans.
"What do you want to talk about?" she asked.
"Uh…" This question stopped Luffy in his tracks. After racking his brains for a long time, he finally managed to squeeze out a sentence:
"By the way! Ganyu, what kind of Devil Fruit did you eat?"
After spending a few days together and witnessing Ganyu activate her ability more than once, Luffy became increasingly curious about what her ability was, but he hadn't found an opportunity to ask.
As he asked the question, Zoro and Nami, who had been sleeping with their eyes closed, quietly opened them.
They were also very curious about what kind of Devil Fruit Ganyu had eaten.
What exactly were her abilities? How many kinds were there?
Why did she have a pair of horns on her head? Could it be the effect of a Devil Fruit power?
This mysterious girl was shrouded in many enigmas.
"Well, if I had to define what kind of Devil Fruit user I am, you could consider me a Mythical Zoan type, Model: Kirin."
Ganyu pondered for a while before finally giving an answer that fit the One Piece universe.
She didn't mean to hide her true situation, but the thought of explaining her origins, her identity, and her true form to Luffy gave her an unbearable headache.
It was impossible to explain this to this slow-witted guy in a short time; at least one night wouldn't be enough.
So, it was better to fabricate a lie.
Or perhaps it wasn't a lie. If she truly transformed into her true form as a Qilin, who would question her identity as a mythical beast?
...
The next day.
After a day and a night of sailing, the four-person group finally spotted the outline of an island.
"It looks like a deserted island," Nami said, putting down her binoculars with a hint of disappointment.
Sailing at sea was mostly boring.
If she could, she would love to go to an inhabited island, take a nice, long bath, and then have a big meal with her sweet, soft Ganyu.
"Stop touching me, Nami. Luffy and Zoro seem to be planning to land on the island," Ganyu said, pushing away a groping hand with a hint of helplessness.
She was filled with resentment.
This was outrageous. It was completely contrary to the natural order. She didn't even reach out during their entire day of "sharing the same bed," yet Nami had touched her all over.
Nami shouted at Zoro and Luffy's ship, "Hey, this is a deserted island, you know. I bet there's nothing there but savages."
Luffy became even more excited after hearing this, "Having a savage is not bad. Maybe we can invite him to join the crew!"
Zoro was equally interested, "The savages must know how to brew wine. I must try it."
After saying that, the two took out oars from the deck and began to row in perfect unison, one on the left and one on the right.
Ganyu looked at these two whimsical guys with a mixture of amusement and exasperation.
But…
If she remembered correctly, there really was a savage on this island… no, it should be a person trapped in a box.
"Ganyu, let's follow."
Seeing Luffy and Zoro ignoring her attempts to stop them and steer the small boat towards the deserted island, Nami sighed and said:
"Those two guys are so recklessly venturing onto that deserted island; who knows what dangers they might encounter."
"Oh? It sounds like you care about them a lot right now?" Ganyu heard the worry in Nami's voice and couldn't help but smile.
The Straw Hat crew was increasingly resembling the characters she saw in the original work.
"No… no way…" Nami quickly shook her head in denial, saying with a haughty expression:
"I'm just worried that if something happens to those two guys, the voyage will be even more deserted in the future."
In response to this.
Ganyu simply smiled at her, her smiling eyes clearly seeing right through her.
Nami gave in. "Alright, I'm really worried that these two idiots will get into some big trouble on the deserted island. Let's hurry up and catch up with them!"
"No rush."
Ganyu's eyes grew brighter as she gazed at the deserted island hundreds of meters away.
Nami only realized it was a deserted island with her binoculars, but Ganyu could see with her naked eye that there was a forest on the island, filled with all sorts of strange animals, and a person huddled in a box running around.
"We can go to the island after Luffy and Zoro have finished causing trouble there."
