Chapter 141: The Landing Party
"We'd best keep a low profile," Nami suggested cautiously, glancing at the rough-looking pirates loitering on the docks. "We should grab the necessary supplies and get off this island as fast as possible. The atmosphere here... it feels a little terrifying."
"Then, how shall we arrange the landing party, Miss Ganyu?" Sanji asked.
Everyone's eyes simultaneously shifted toward the blue-haired maiden.
Ganyu raised her ice-blue eyes, slowly sweeping her gaze over her companions' faces. It didn't take much observation; their thoughts were practically written on their foreheads.
Nami, Usopp, and Chopper wore expressions that screamed, "I don't want to get off the boat" and "Staying on board is safest."
Conversely, Luffy, Zoro, and Robin looked brimming with interest.
As for Sanji... outwardly he appeared calm, but his gaze lingered on Ganyu, Nami, and Robin, clearly communicating: Wherever the ladies are, that is where I shall be.
Ganyu pondered for a moment, her decision already made.
"In that case," she cleared her throat, her voice clear and calm, "Luffy, Zoro, Robin, and I will go ashore."
"Eh—?! Only four people?!" Luffy immediately protested. "Everyone should come! It's more fun with a crowd!"
"Indeed! If Miss Ganyu requires it, I can certainly go ashore as well!" Sanji volunteered instantly.
Nami interjected, "Our current status is that of wanted criminals. If too many of us appear in their sights, it's easy to expose our identities. The fewer people who disembark, the better. Besides, the remaining crew can ensure the safety of the ship."
She left unsaid the part about ensuring the safety of herself, Usopp, and Chopper.
"Nami makes a valid point." Ganyu nodded, continuing with her arrangement. "Robin and I will be primarily responsible for gathering intelligence on the island. We need to see if we can find any interesting information—or clues."
She paused, casting a glance at Robin. The archaeologist smiled knowingly but asked no questions.
"As for Luffy and Zoro..." Ganyu looked at the two eager combatants and sighed with a touch of helplessness. "You two just... 'have fun.' But remember, try not to cause trouble too quickly."
"Alright! I'm gonna go eat!"
Before her voice had even faded, Luffy cheered, turned into a blur, and whooshed off the ship, disappearing into the port.
"...That guy," Zoro muttered, clutching his swords, the corner of his mouth twitching. "I bet he didn't even bring his wallet."
"You are absolutely right." Ganyu produced a bulging wallet from somewhere, walked up to Zoro, and stuffed it into his hand before he could protest. "So, it will be up to you to pay the bill for our Captain."
"Oi!! Why does it have to be me?!" Zoro held the wallet like it was a hot potato, nearly throwing it away. "I don't want to be a babysitter for that idiot!"
"Robin and I have serious business to attend to on the island." Ganyu crossed her arms, tilting her head back to stare him down, her tone matter-of-fact. "Once you go ashore, apart from wandering around, drinking, and picking fights, do you have anything else to do? You're unwilling to do even a small favor like this for a 'busy person' like me?"
"I can gather intelligence too!" Zoro argued, unconvinced.
Pfft!
The moment those words left his mouth, the entire crew burst into laughter.
"Hahaha! Forget it, Zoro! It's a miracle if you don't get lost!"
"He'll definitely get lost! I bet he won't even find Luffy, and we'll end up having to search for him!"
Sanji, Usopp, and Nami laughed so hard they leaned back and forth.
"Bastards... you guys just wait..." Zoro gritted his teeth in annoyance. Leaving that threat behind, he stomped off the ship in a huff.
"Let's go, Robin. We should head down as well." Ganyu watched his retreating back with a smile for a moment before turning to Robin.
Robin was already prepared. She had changed into an outfit more suitable for movement: a deep purple miniskirt that accentuated her curves, a fitted short shirt with intricate patterns, a light cloak draped over her shoulders, and knee-high black boots.
Before leaving, Robin turned to the trio staying behind and asked gently, "Is there anything you need? I can bring it back for you."
In the days since joining the crew, Robin had actively expressed goodwill to integrate into the group. Initially, aside from Ganyu, Luffy, and Sanji, the others had held a certain degree of vigilance toward her. But through genuine care and her mature, intelligent way of handling things, Nami, Usopp, and Chopper had gradually opened their hearts.
Now, aside from Zoro who still maintained a subtle distance, the other members of the Straw Hat Pirates had been effectively "won over" by this gentle older sister figure.
