Part 1 – After the Bell
The final lesson came to an end.
Daigo placed the chalk back onto the tray before dusting the white powder from his hands.
He looked around the classroom.
"...Good work today."
Several students stretched in their seats.
A few quietly sighed in relief.
Daigo picked up the attendance book from his desk.
"Before you leave..."
"I have two announcements."
The classroom gradually quieted.
"First..."
"I want everyone to complete today's notes."
"I'll be collecting your notebooks tomorrow morning."
A wave of groans spread across the room.
Kaito slowly let his head fall onto his desk.
"...Homework..."
A few students laughed.
Daigo smiled.
"It's only today's lesson."
"You've already finished most of it in class."
Kaito let out another dramatic sigh.
"...Homework is homework..."
Even Daigo chuckled softly.
"Second..."
"There will be a short mathematics quiz tomorrow."
This time...
The classroom groaned even louder.
Izumi covered her face.
"So soon...?"
Haruki scratched the back of his head.
"I was hoping it'd be next week..."
Sanae quietly looked down at her notebook.
"...I should revise tonight..."
Misaki immediately began flipping through her notes.
"...I need to remember the formulas..."
Daichi dramatically slumped over his desk.
"...Sensei..."
"...Have mercy..."
The classroom burst into laughter.
Daigo folded his arms with a smile.
"The quiz won't be difficult."
"It's only to see whether you've understood today's lesson."
"So review your notes."
"And don't stay up too late."
"Getting enough sleep is just as important."
Just then...
Ding... Dong...
The academy bell echoed through the building.
Class was over.
Almost instantly...
The room filled with the sounds of chairs sliding back, bags being packed, and students chatting excitedly.
Daigo picked up his books.
"Have a safe trip home, everyone."
"Goodbye, Sensei!"
The students bowed together.
"Goodbye."
One by one...
They began filing out of the classroom.
