"What's your name and ability?"
Silence. No words.
Syril pretended he found something amazing on his screen, so he kept looking into, raising the phone higher and placing it closer to his face.
"Hey, yoooo!!" He tried again, but met another cold silence.
"Look at that," someone close whispered, nudging the person sitting beside.
"Bro is getting dirtied," a person said, loud enough for all to hear.
"Sorry, Brandon. He's not into guys!" Another shouted.
The whole wagon laughed out loud, even Adam that was by his side couldn't stop it; he burst into a laughter that made his stomach hurt.
And that… That was the turning point for Brandon. The words and the laughter stung so much that he became agitated.
He speedily grabbed Syril's shoulder, pressing on Syril with his Super-strength.
"H-hi, I… I asked for your name and ability. Didn't you hear me?" Brandon gritted his teeth, forcing a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes, squeezing Syril's frame as he spoke.
