"Ma'am, the funding for these projects isn't enough," Moses stammered. His voice only made my blood simmer. "The products aren't ready for the public because the budget is too tight."


"I want results by tomorrow." I tossed the papers into his face. "The launch is tomorrow. I will not have Chaplin's products rivaling ours in the market. Get rid of this garbage."


I stalked out and slammed the door hard enough to make the floor vibrate. "Impudence," I muttered, heading for the elevator.


Back in my office, I sank into my leather chair. The steady ticking of the grand clock usually calmed me, but then my phone rang. I jumped, startled, and checked the screen. It was Castillo.
