Chapter 40 - Chapter 40: Installing TV and selling Pokémon eggs

There were many things to do, and Kawaki planned to tackle them one by one.

He first went to the supermarket in town and bought a large quantity of non-perishable ingredients, which he had Bewear carry.

Next, Kawaki prepared to inquire about the Poké Ball transfer machine, but unfortunately, there was no such machine in the entire Fallarbor Town.

When the shopkeepers heard him mention a machine that could transfer Pokémon, they all looked surprised, saying things like, "How is that even possible?" and "We don't have anything like that in our store."

Kawaki: "…"

So, at this point in time, the Poké Ball transfer machine really hasn't been developed yet, has it?

If that's the case, then this matter will have to be postponed for now.

Carrying the purchased ingredients, Kawaki and Bewear continued to the department store, where he bought a wall-mounted television and a Berry Blender for making Energy Cubes.

He had the Berry Blender, but Energy Cubes needed to be made himself. Different Energy Cubes had different effects, and each Pokémon had different tastes.

Kawaki had plenty of time to explore on his own, but that would take time. For convenience, he also bought a few recipes for Energy Cubes suitable for Grass-type Pokémon and Fairy-type Pokémon.

The price of the recipes was a bit high, but Kawaki could still accept it.

Before he left, the owner told him, "If you research any new recipes in the future, you can also bring them here to sell."

Kawaki nodded, keeping that in mind.

With everything purchased, Kawaki was ready to go home.

After confirming the customer's address, the department store staff immediately prepared to send someone for installation, and Kawaki and Bewear hitched a ride.

By the time they returned to the Breeding House, it was already evening.

Growlithe, Oddish, and Clefairy had indeed obediently waited in the room until he came home.

Kawaki pushed open the locked door, and a group of Pokémon immediately showed expressions of surprise.

Kawaki said with a smile, "Alright, we're back! You can come out and play now!"

Growlithe wagged its tail and excitedly circled around Kawaki.

The Clefairy sighed in relief and happily ran out of the bedroom to play outside.

Oddish also let out a soft sigh, bouncing down the stairs behind the Clefairy and returning to its orchard.

In the hall, the department store staff were installing the television on the wall.

He hammered away, and in no time, the installation was complete.

The power at the Breeding House had already been restored, presumably because a technician from Fallarbor Town had performed repairs while he was out.

Kawaki picked up the remote control and adjusted it, quickly seeing a variety of television programs on the screen.

There were movies, news, and even Pokémon parenting shows.

Seeing this, Kawaki slowly exhaled a breath of stale air. With this, he could use the television to understand the outside world.

The staff member who installed the television was an uncle in his thirties.

The uncle looked around and said, "There was also a Breeding House here a few years ago, but unfortunately, it closed down. I never thought it would reopen now!"

Kawaki smiled and said, "My parents used to run it. They passed away three years ago, and now that I've grown up, I want to inherit their legacy and continue to run this Breeding House."

The uncle clicked his tongue, "You look about the same age as my son!"

After speaking, the uncle realized something and quickly stopped the topic.

Poor children learn to manage households early; this child is truly pitiful!

"By the way, seeing that you just opened, do you have any Pokémon Eggs for sale right now? I want to buy one for my son; he'll be ten in another month!"

When talking about his son, the uncle's entire face lit up, and his tone of voice was full of pride.

"Of course, I do." Kawaki looked at the man, a father preparing a birthday gift for his son: "What kind of Pokémon does your son like?"

The uncle carefully recalled his son's usual preferences, then asked, "Do you have any really strong and cool Pokémon?"

Strong and cool?

It would be easier if it were the later regions.

Incineroar and Buzzwole from the Alola region, Obstagoon, Grimmsnarl, and Urshifu from the Galar region, Koraidon from the Paldea region…

But there really weren't many strong and cool Pokémon in the Hoenn region.

Does Machamp count?

But the problem was, the Breeding House currently didn't have any Machop Pokémon Eggs either.

After a brief thought, Kawaki decided to take the man upstairs to the Hatchery to take a look.

"Please follow me. All the Breeding House's Pokémon Eggs are upstairs."

"Then I'll impose!" The uncle nodded.

The two went upstairs together and arrived at the Hatchery.

The Hoenn League had originally sent a total of twenty Pokémon Eggs.

Excluding those that had already been sold these past few days, and Castform, which he planned to keep and raise himself, there were currently thirteen eggs left in the Breeding House.

Poochyena, Zigzagoon, Wurmple, Trapinch, Cacnea, Chingling, Wynaut, Lotad, Aron, Whismur, Surskit, Shroomish, Wingull.

Kawaki's gaze swept over these eggs, and the names of each Pokémon appeared in his mind.

If he was looking for strong and cool…

Kawaki directed his gaze to one of the eggs.

"How about this egg?" He picked up that egg.

[Aron's Egg: A Pokémon Egg that can hatch into the Steel/Rock-type Pokémon Aron.]

[Mother: Aggron (Superior-level)]

"What kind of Pokémon is this?" the uncle asked.

"Aron. The Pokémon inside the egg is Aron, a Steel and Rock-type Pokémon. Its final evolution, Aggron, is a large monster-type Pokémon that is both strong and cool, and a very reliable companion," Kawaki introduced.

Aggron… His son should like a Pokémon like that, right?

The image of his son's joyful expression after becoming a Trainer appeared in the uncle's mind, and he immediately made a decision.

"I'll take this egg!"

"Alright, that will be 150,000 alliance coins in total."

The uncle paid the money and excitedly left with the egg.

Another egg had been sold. The Breeding House currently had twelve eggs remaining, with the shortest hatching time for one Pokémon Egg being only one day away.

This meant that that egg would hatch tomorrow.

Kawaki directed his gaze to that egg, and immediately, the egg's information appeared in his mind.

[Chingling's Egg: A Pokémon Egg that can hatch into the Psychic-type Pokémon Chingling.]
