The sunlight escape from outside, peeking into the room and kissing her face. It casts its glow on her. Her hair which was more like a bird's nest, was scattered across her face and the pillow. She stirred in her sleep, her eyes fluttering open, and she was welcomed from sleep with a banging headache.
"Argh" she groaned "How much did I drink last night?" She rubbed her head and rose up. Arranging her scattered hair and tying it into a low ponytail, memories of the previous night flashed. She gasped.
What has she done? Flirting with him? Why does she always have to embarrass herself? She cried, biting the insides of her lips. How would she face him now? She remembered to the point of asking him why he comforted her. She had embarrassed herself enough. And now she's in his room!
It's a good thing he's not in. She can easily escape now. Hastily, she got down and rushed to the door. But then it opened and he walked in.
Droplets of water were oozing and dripping over his naked torso, his muscles screaming out loud. His wet disheveled hair covered the whole of his forehead , making him look wild. With his sturdy physique that was kissed by the morning sun, she had the sudden urge to touch him.
A Greek God he is!
He took a step in, and another. Slowly like he was counting them, his eyes not tearing away from her. Her heart leaped at his gaze, and she took a step back. She kept moving back until her back felt the coldness of the wall.
A tiny smirk was visible on his face, his eyes was a bit cold yet warm. She gulped down her heart slamming against her throat.
Ryan's hand went to her waist and he pulled her strongly towards himself. She let out a low gasp. Her both hands rested on his bare shoulders, feeling his strong muscles.
"Did you sleep well, darling?" he asked.
"I....I did" she stuttered. God, she's done for today. He would surely tease her now.
"Good to know that" after not letting him sleep well in the night. "You seemed to be rushing somewhere earlier. Where were you going?"
"I was going back to my room" she replied, trying her best not to stutter. She just have to pretend she doesn't remember anything.
"On whose permission?" Ryan asked.
"Do I need that too?"
"Do you think I'll let you go after what you did last night?" She bit her lips, trying to look calm.
"I... I don't remember" she said.
He raised a brow "How about I tell you, so you'll remember?"
She gulped "I... I would still not remember" she lied.
Getting irked by her words, he began. "So.... You don't remember asking me to be your boyfriend?"
Her cheeks grew red "No" she breathed
"You don't remember calling me pretty?"
"No" she shook her head. Does he have to list all those?
"You don't remember.... giving me your first kiss?" Her eyes grew wide, her cheeks burned, growing beet red. She kissed him? At that moment she remembered that part and she stared at him with wide eyes.
"Oh, I see you remember that" Ryan smirked.
"It... It was a... It was a friendly kiss" she blurted.
"Oh..." he raised a brow "How about I say I do not like it and now I want to return it?"
She bit her lips continuously as his gaze got deep. What would she do now?
His other hand lifted slowly, going behind her head. His fingers went to her ponytail and he pulled the hairband slowly. Her hair falling gracefully to her face.
"I prefer your hair untied" he said and she gulped. Feeling tingles in her stomach. Ryan's hand moved down her head slowly to her nape and he pulled her face closer.
She gasped at the sudden pull, his warm breath fanned her face, her heart raced on a faster pace. They're lips were only a few inches away.
"When I'll return the kiss..... be prepared to receive it" he spoke slowly. "It would be unexpected though. But be prepared for that time, sweetheart" he pulled away, letting go off her. Now it's sweetheart?!
With a satisfactory smile, he walked away to the mirror. "Go and freshen up quickly and come downstairs for breakfast. You keep me waiting....a kiss as your punishment." he said. "Oh. That's different from the one I'll return" he made it clear.
With a red face she walked out, not wanting to stay around this devil anymore. She got to her room and closed the door, dropping to the floor slowly. She would never drink with him again. How she so badly want to remain in her room for the rest of the day. But he'll surely come for her. Getting up from the floor, she went to freshen up.
Ryan looked at the hairband in his hand. It was white and black with a small bow having a crescent and star bead on it. He opened the drawer and placed it in. Never giving it back again.
After having a quiet and awkward breakfast, Ryan asked her to accompany him to his study. Using his previous instruction of her never leaving his sight as an excuse.
She followed with no choice, looking everywhere but him. Ryan worked diligently on the files, ignoring her presence in the room.
Her mind drifted to the morning event. Why is he so bent on teasing her everyday? Why would he always make her heart race? Why does she admire him sometimes? She doesn't want this feeling. This feeling brewing in her heart. She doesn't want to fall in love with him.
But what would it be like to love him? Would he love her too? Remembering how they said he avoided women like a plague, she cursed underneath.
He wouldn't love her. He's just playing with her feelings. Don't let this feeling grow Anna. But what if she can't help it? What would she do then? Would she keep loving him? People fall in love with their saviour sometimes. Would that happen to her?
No! She wouldn't let it. What if he leaves her, the way her father left her mother? What then? Besides she's not in his class. She's not his type. Does he even have one?
About that father of hers. He's probably doing well with his family which she was never part of. His company is doing well, because of a sacrifice she never wanted to make. Why does she have to suffer for his benefits? Tears seeped from her eyes and she wiped them away.
'If only you didn't leave mother. If only you didn't leave'
She curled herself up on the couch, forcing sleep unto herself. Just thinking of that caused pain in her heart. Her head throbbed in pain, and the only way to stop thinking about it was to sleep. So it came and took her away.
