Arianna walked out some minutes after he left. She went straight to the kitchen as her stomach had been crying for food. She checked the fridge for anything but there was nothing.
"Ms Jung hasn't made lunch yet" she said. Walking to the cabinet, she took out two packs of noodles. And to the fridge, she to the rest ingredients. Putting on an apron, she rubbed her hands together.
"Okay! Let's get cooking" she exclaimed.
As she began, Zariel walked in. Finding her cooking and dancing, she gasped.
"Anna, what are doing?" She rushed to her.
Arianna's brows creased "I was just trying to cook" she said.
"No, don't do this" Zariel took the knife from her.
"Uh..."
"You don't have to do this. I'll do it for you"
"N-No. I can do it myself" Arianna said
"Anna listen, I'll do it for you"
"No" Arianna retorted, taking the knife back.
Zariel took it back again "I'll do it"
"I can do it, Ms Jung" this time she took the knife and did not let her take it.
"You shouldn't be doing this. If young master sees you then...."
"He wouldn't do anything" she cut her off "Besides, he's not home. Also, I can't just sit and watch you cook for me all the time. It's not right."
Zariel exhaled. Such a sweet girl she is. "Okay" she agreed and walked to a chair. Sitting on it, she watched her cook.
Arianna was just about to put the noodles in the boiling water when accidentally it spilled on her hand. How that happened, no one knows.
"Ouch!" She cried "Ouch, it's hurts." Zariel panicked, rushing to her immediately.
"Oh God, how did this happen?" She turned on the tap and let the water rain on the burning part. Tears had filled her eyes, they would roll at moment.
"I told you not to do this" Zariel spoke.
"I don't know how it happened, Ms Jung" Arianna cried.
"Oh dear, young master would surely kill me today" she mumbled. Taking Arianna to the chair, she made her sit. "Wait here, I'll get the ointment." she rushed out.
Arianna blew air onto her hand to ease the pain. It hurts so much. How did it happen? It's something she can never be able to explain.
Zariel came back with the ointment and applied it on her hand. The pain eased a little, but it still hurts. Luckily for her, the burn wasn't deep. Her hand was only red.
"Does it still hurts?" Zariel asked
"A little" she replied.
"Just sit here, I'll make the lunch for you" Zariel bagan cooking, and Arianna sat watching her. Her mind drifted to Ryan, and her lips twitched.
'Why couldn't he take me with him?' she spoke inwardly 'What's that thing he's going out to do which is so risky? Why does he always make himself look dangerous? Always wearing black when he's going out like an assassin. Damnit! Sometimes he acts nice, sometimes he acts scary. What's with him?'
All those thoughts running in her head.
"What are you thinking of, dear?" Zariel asked with a raised brow and a grin.
Arianna looked at her. She realised she had been lost and Zariel had been watching her.
"Ah... Nothing. I was thinking of anything" she said.
"Are you sure about that?" Zariel asked with scrutiny "Is there something you want to ask?"
"Can I ask anything?" Arianna asked
"You can. I'll try my best to answer" she said.
"I just.... I just want to know more about Mr Han" Arianna said
"Everything?"
"Yes, everything"
"Alright, I'll tell you" she said and Arianna's face beamed "But until we're done eating. You could choke on your food."
Arianna chuckled lightly "Thank you" she said.
*....*...*...*....*.....*....*....*...*....*....*....*..*...*
After they finished eating, they went into the living room. The moment Arianna had been waiting for has finally arrived. She couldn't wait. She was curious and excited that she could force the words out of Zariel's mouth.
"Let's start with a very interesting story, shall we?" Zariel said.
Arianna pulled a sad face "But why?"
"If you want to know more about young master, then you have to be patient and listen to this one first. Alright?"
"Alright" she agreed reluctantly.
Zariel took a breather and then she began. "Over five hundred years ago, a demon prince fell in love with a human girl from a noble background. A thing rejected by nature. He found everything he wanted in her . He felt at peace, always had joy in his heart. She loved him as well, as he happened to be the kind of man she wanted. All humans who came as suitors, never matched her desires. Except him."
"Their love grew. She made a demon friend around her age, who was a court maid in the demon palace. Both love and friendship between them was unbreakable. But then, both of them were to get married. They didn't want to throw away the love they grew for each other so the demon gathered courage and decided to show her to his kind as the one he loves. They never agreed for a relationship like that, as they were different creatures. The human also told her family she didn't want to get married to the one chosen for her. She loves someone else. But when they found out it was a demon, they forbade her. Both were in a dilemma of what to do. They couldn't leave and stop loving each other, instead it grew stronger."
"One day, he came up with a plan to have a child with her. He thought maybe that way, they'll be given a chance. Maybe their kind would accept them once he brings an heir. She also agreed to it, and it happened that night. Under a full moon."
"Did they accept their love after that?"Arianna asked.
"No" she replied "Instead, her parents disowned her because of they had committed a grave sin. During that time, the demon was made King, so he brought her to his world. Her life was always at risk during her stay. Every demon wanting to tear her apart."
"But he tried so hard with everything in him to protect her. Even if it meant war. She suffered, terrible. Finally, she gave birth to a boy. He was part demon, part human . He became a threat to them, and they also tried to kill him."
"Only a week, could the child spend with his mother, before she was killed. Her last words were for the King to protect her child. The King cried. His cries shook the earth. Even the others who tried to kill the young child for terrified and were unable to do so. Each day, the King blames himself for her death. He would say if only he hadn't loved her, she wouldn't have died." Zariel exhal
ed. Remembering all those brought tears to her eyes.
