Time passed a little, and Arianna never felt like going anywhere else. She chatted with the others, laughing happily. Ryan sat still, with crossed legs and arms, watching her.
Her every smile....her every laughter, made his heart flutter. He couldn't get enough of her smiles. That warm smile that gave him somewhat peace. Making him feel everything is okay. This smile.....he would always want to see it.
He's not sure yet, but ever since he's been seeing that smile, ever since she came to his house....his pain has been bearable. Not as excruciating as before because he feels it before anyone cried for help. He doesn't want to conclude if she's the reason, but it's good.
He closed his eyes for a while, and when they opened, his gaze darkened. Sweat broke on his temples. His heart throbbed in pain. He stood up and walked to them.
"Sorry to interrupt. But Aria needs to go home now. Mr Han would get mad if she's not home before five" he spoke coldly. Everyone gazed at him, wondering why get they got so scared at his voice. He now looked as scary as he appeared, they gulped at the bone chilling sight.
"A-alright. If that's the case, the you can leave now" So-hyeon spoke. "But do come often"
"Sure" he replied, and turned to Arianna "Let's go"
Arianna pursed her lips "okay" she stood up.
"Bye Anna" Jia hugged her "Don't take too long before you come, okay?"
"Okay" Everyone hugged her before they left. She was going too miss them even more now. The air inside the car was so heavy, dropping below freezing. She wondered if something was wrong. Everything about him became so cold and terrifying.
"Why do we have to go back home now?" She asked "You said you'll take me everywhere"
"We'll do that some other time" came his stern voice as he buckled his seatbelts.
"But it's not too late yet. Why can't we go somewhere else?"
"I said, we'll go some other time" he spoke through clenched teeth. His eyes burning with anger, he was so deadly at that moment. "You'll only listen to me, and do as I say. Understood?"
"No" she was brave enough to retort "I don't want to listen. I want to go back inside"
"One more word from you, and you wouldn't like me. Do not unleash the beast in me" he gave a lethal warning. Arianna shuddered and then stared into his eyes. She felt hurt at the way he spoke. The edges of his eyes were red, and his iris contained tiny shades of gold. All she wanted was to go out with him, and let him know the things she loved too. He didn't even let her be with her friends for more than three hours. And now he's acting this way?
"Why are you being mean?" She voiced , and Ryan turned away from her, trying to calm himself down. He's gums were itching badly. "Did I do anything wrong now? I only asked questions. Why do I have to do everything you say? Why the mood swings?" Tears had already welled her eyes, ready to roll down her cheeks.
Ryan said nothing. He just started the car and drove back to the house. Soon, they arrived home because of how fast he drove. Arianna took the fish tank and stormed out of the car. She got inside the room and dropped herself on the couch. She was so hurt.
Ryan looked at his hands. His claws protruded and retracted back in just a second. He clenched them into fists that his knuckles turned white. Zariel knocked on the window and he pushed it down.
"Is something wrong?" she asked, but Ryan stayed quiet. "She looks hurt. What did you do to her.
"I'll be out for a while" he said instead "There are things I need to take care of. I might come home late" he disappeared, and Zariel heaved a long sigh.
"He must have released a little of his pain on her. Poor girl, she should understand" she took in air.
Ten minutes passed and Ryan never came through door. She stood up and walked out of the room. Walking along the hallway, she met Zariel.
"Anna, are you okay?" she asked.
"Yes. I was wondering where Mr Han is" she said, trying to look behind her.
"Oh...he went out for a while. He'll be back okay?" she patted her shoulder and walked passed her.
So he could go out? But not let her have enough fun! Just when she thought they were finally getting along.
*....*....*.....*.....*.....*....*....*.....*....*.....*.....*....*
Ryan found himself on a plane. He found an empty seat and sat down. Where the the plane was heading, he had no idea. But the anger brewing inside of him would soon reach its peak. Around hundred people were on the plane. How can he save them all? He doesn't even know where the attack would come from, or when it would begin. From his left....or his right? From the lavatory, or the vip section, or the cockpit? He couldn't tell. An hour passed and nothing happened.
"Inject this in the drinks and serve it to them" Ryan heard while he leisurely stared out the window. Where did that come from?
After a minute, an air hostess came with a food rack, sharing snacks to every passenger. Surprisingly, none declined.
"Eat up" she said with a smile. But that smile spoke death.
"I don't think a human should ride a plane. A plane would do it perfectly and send you humans to your destination; The afterlife" Ryan heard another voice again. He was sure it was coming from the cockpit this time. Most people were already opening up the drinks, and wanting to drink of it. Ryan closed his eyes, and when he opened them, everyone froze.
"What happened?" She said, looking around. Ryan stood up, his golden eyes burning with anger. She looked at him, and the side of her lips curled up into a tiny smile.
"You must be the half breed"
""I'm not surprised. I'm a famous figure in your world" he said.
"You're more handsome than I thought." She blurted "If not that you are a half breed, I would have made you mine" she smiled, blinked her eyes at him. Ryan lips stretched into a sly, deadly smirk.
"Sweet" was all he said.
"Do half breed predict the future?" She asked "Because from the tales I've heard about you, you only protect humans when they cry for help. And no one here did."
"I don't predict the future. It only hurts, that's how I know." He clarified "I didn't even know the attack would be on a plane. With so many people .....how cruel of you guys"
"They're not so many. Don't make us look bad" she waved her hand at him, smiling childishly.
"I know you would be here"
