They both sat in his study, both in their worlds. He was busy with his work while she read a book. No one said a word to the other. But Aria was constantly glancing at Ryan. Hoping he would look her way. Since he did none of that, she stood up and walked to him.
"Boyfriend" she called and his brows creased slightly. And then he lifted his head and looked at her. She had her lips pursed.
"What's wrong?" he asked her, facing her properly.
"I don't understand this book. It's complicated" she complained.
"Let me see" he took the book from her and glanced at it. He sighed "Ari... what's hard here?"
"I don't understand" she fluttered her eyes. Sighing again, he pulled her and made her sit on his lap.
"Okay, it's like this..." he began to explain whatever she said she didn't understand. He was so good in explaining, but oh well, the girl wasn't listening. She was just staring at him. Ogling, obviously. Her eyes trailed down to his lips, and then his strong chest that he always leaves bare, and then back up to his face.
And Ryan, he just kept on, oblivion to the looks thrown at him. He looked at her for a brief moment, when their eyes met. Aria blinked, caught in the act. She bit her lower lip, releasing it slowly from the hold of her teeth.
His jaws clenched as he watched her do that. "Focus!" he ordered. Voice stern and harsh and she almost shuddered.
"I am focusing" she said.
"Tell me... what was the last thing I said" he asked her and she blinked.
"Focus" she said. And he frowned hard "Oh... the the last thing you said was 'Tell me... what was the last thing I said '" she made a fun out of it, forcing the smiles that threatened to curve her lips.
"You better pay attention now" he ordered sternly, and she looked back into the book with pursed lips while he went on with his teachings. She twitched her lips. She didn't want this. She wants him to focus on her. He hadn't been giving her attention for a while, she had noticed. Why won't he focus on her alone?!
Irked, she took the book from his hand "I understand now" she stood from his lap and left. Sitting back on the couch with her lips pursed. He just sighed and went back to work. Silence reigned supreme in the room. Only the flipping of papers could be heard.
After an hour of silence, he felt tired. His back ached from sitting since morning so he stood up to stretch. Aria was just there, ignoring his movements. He walked to the couch where she sat, and he sat too. Placing his head in her lap.
"What are you doing?" She asked.
"I need rest" he muttered with closed eyes.
"Then go inside"
"No. Your lap is soft" he said, and then opened his eyes a little to look at her face. Her cheeks had turned a bit red, he noticed. With a playful smirk, he relaxed his head properly on her lap and then drifted away within few minutes.
While she sat reading, a mischievous thought went to head. She brought the book below her eyes and looked at the sleeping man. He looked so peaceful. She grinned, mischievously. Aria took a cushion and placed it under his head, and then stood up stealthily. His brows creased slightly, and then relaxed. She left the study quickly to the bedroom and when she came back, she was holding her makeup kit. Her eyes sparkled with mischief, as she moved her hands over his face to see if he would wake.
Since he didn't, she began. She took her lipstick and applied it on his already red lips, making it more red. She darkened his brows and made them bigger. She applied foundation and powder to his pale face, and even added blush. And then she painted the tip of his nose black, and drew three black lines on his cheeks.
Aria forced herself not to laugh. She really loved this mischief and she anticipated his actions when he wakes. She returned her kit back to the room and then came to sit, with his head on her lap again. She sat like a saint.
An hour passed and he stirred in his sleep, turning to the side. She peeked at him in anticipation, he turned again. And then his eyes opened, meeting hers.
"You're awake" she said with a smile.
"Yeah..." he rose, his brows creased as he saw her smiling.
"Why are you smiling?" he asked.
"Hehe...you look really cute when you sleep" she said and giggled. It caused him to chuckle and he pulled her cheeks gently.
"You're so sweet" he said and her eyes turned crescents. "I'll be back okay?" he stood and left the study. Aria covered her mouth and laughed. He looked like a doll.
*...*...*...*
Ryan walked down the stairs and into the kitchen. He took a bottle of water from the fridge and gulped it down, walking out. Leonel and Zariel just walked into the house, and at the sight of him, they shuddered. He brought the bottle down from his mouth and looked at them. They had their eyes wide and jaws dropped as they started at him, dumbstruck.
He raised a brow "What?"
The duo looked at themselves and then busted into laughter. They laughed, so hard, that they're stomachs hurt.
"What's wrong with you?" he questioned again, but only got hard laughs as his reply. With a frown, he made attempts to leave, however....
"Do you know how you look right now?" Zariel spoke first.
"Like those dolls kids play with" Leonel said.
"Pfft. Hahaha" they laughed.
"I don't get it. What do you mean?"
"Wait right here" Zariel said and just like that she was gone. Coming back in a few seconds with a mirror. She placed at his face. Hesitantly, Ryan looked at himself in the mirror.
"Ahh!!!" he shuddered. "What's this?! Why's my face like this?!"
"We should be asking you. Hahaha"
"Wow.... you're so beautiful" Zariel teased.
"Pretty boy.."
They laughed, and he fumed. "LEE ARI"
