Chapter 126 - Kil'jaeden

"Ah? Is that all?"

Arthas collected the opponent's corpse and threw it to the slaughterhouse for decomposition; demon remains still held many valuable things.

Just as he was pondering, a surge of violent energy erupted from the Well of Eternity!

The once calm well water began to boil, and standing beside it was a five-meter-tall giant with Fel-stitched marks on his body, it was the resurrected Xavius.

"Hehehe, you all must die! Azshara, my queen, I will prove to you that the Burning Legion is right! When this world is destroyed, you will be captured and eventually become my consort, hahahaha!"

As the queen's advisor and leader of the magi corps, Xavius was responsible for the daily research of the Well of Eternity.

His understanding of the Well of Eternity's usage was no less than Azshara's; he had merely been biding his time. Now, having died once, he had become even more insane.

He intended to use the Burning Legion to destroy this world; the Kaldorei Empire, which had brought him shame, must be annihilated. Once all the night elves were dead, no one would remember his disgrace.

"Looking for death!"

Azshara manipulated the Well of Eternity, attempting to revoke his access, but the next second, she felt a countering force.

In the nick of time, Arthas stepped forward, raising his runeblade, and with his left hand, he lifted the hammer of khaz'goroth, using their combined force to block.

The endless energy shattered his armor. With a thought, Infernal Meteor, Rain of Fire, Serpent Wards, and Carrion Swarm were unleashed in a torrent.

A surge of pure Holy Light Spell energy erupted, forming a shield.

This was the paladin's unique Avatar, which was invincibility in-game, but not entirely so here.

Its effect was to clear all mana and form a shield ten times that value.

The reason he hadn't used it before was that he didn't deem it necessary; it was too extreme.

In situations where mana regeneration couldn't keep up, rashly emptying his mana pool was not a rational choice.

Now, standing at the very front, he had no choice but to use this move.

In her surprise, Azshara had expected to be severely wounded by the counter-energy, but she never imagined that her consort, whose relationship had only been confirmed yesterday, would stand in front of her.

A faint arc curved on her violet lips; this feeling was quite pleasant.

If Xavius had done this, it would have been sycophantic behavior. But coming from Arthas, it was a husband's responsibility to protect his wife.

Double standards?

Yes, precisely. Anyone Azshara favored was a good person; anyone she disliked wasn't necessarily evil, but trash!

"Are you alright?"

"It hurts a lot. I'll get my compensation back from you later!"

"Heh heh, barbarian, I look forward to your compensation. Now, let me end this farce."

No sooner had Azshara spoken than her brows furrowed again, for another powerful member of the Burning Legion appeared, using Fel to block her arcane connection.

Biting her silver teeth, she reversed the spell, not drawing upon the Well of Eternity's power, but instead transforming the energy into an unending magical seal to seal it.

Once this magical seal was set, even she couldn't open it.

The chains were formed from the Well of Eternity, and since the Well of Eternity was an almost infinite source of energy, this created an unending seal.

This also meant that the Highborne would lose the Well of Eternity, and perhaps their strength would decline. Without an endless energy supply, they would need to find new sources of energy.

These were matters for later; there were many ways to solve the problem.

But there was no time now. Azshara knew the Burning Legion was not to be trifled with, and she had roughly discerned their intentions.

Had Arthas not appeared and become her consort, perhaps, according to the historical trajectory, she would have fallen for Sargeras, thereby helping him open the portal and allow the Burning Legion to enter.

Relying on the Well of Eternity's endless energy, coupled with the Burning Legion's countless demon armies, breaking through the Azeroth allied forces would only be a matter of time.

As a queen, she possessed the ability and resolve to make decisive judgments.

Seeing that the situation was dire, Azshara resolutely sealed the Well of Eternity. Even if she couldn't use it, she absolutely wouldn't let the enemy benefit from it.

Feeling the rapid decrease in portal energy, Kil'jaeden was enraged. All of this had been planned, and he absolutely would not allow such a thing to happen.

He pulled out a crystal, whose contained energy was breathtaking. This was a shard of the World Soul energy crystal from Argus, each equivalent to a portion of his power.

Detonating the crystal, he threw it towards the Well of Eternity. Rapidly casting, a Fel array enveloped the crystal, channeling pure energy to continue corrupting the arcane 鎖.

The domineering and fierce attack actually managed to forcefully break open a corner of the 鎖, and the leaked energy was enough to sustain the portal.

That wasn't all. If the enemy took the opportunity to attack, there was still a risk of interruption.

So, he gritted his teeth and took out a second crystal, his last resort. The number of these crystals was not large, no more than five.

They originated from the essence of a Titan World Soul; forcibly breaking them off meant a loss of potential. Even if the World Soul could grow, it would always be at the bottom tier.

There were also differences among Titans; the more essence lost, the more insignificant they became.

"Destroy! The Burning Legion will surely bathe your world in blood, Ed'ru, Washa Bik'a, Sindorei's By."

A rapid incantation in Eredar was murmured, activating the Titan essence crystal to form a powerful shockwave.

"No good, retreat! My dear, buy me some time."

After taking the hit just now, Azshara's feelings had deepened further. She circulated her mana to cast a teleportation spell.

The shockwave's primary target was her. As long as Azshara was eliminated, without their strongest combatant, Kil'jaeden was confident that the Burning Legion would successfully descend, and this world would ultimately belong to them!

In just a moment, his mana had fully recovered. Arthas once again stepped forward to block the surging energy wave.

Pfft!

The violent energy instantly knocked him to the execute threshold. Holy Light Spell descended, restoring his health.

Immediately after, his health was once again pushed down to the execute threshold. Helplessly, he then used Healing Wave.

Orange light passed through the crowd, raising the health of the Highborne who had almost been instantly killed.

This time, Arthas could only reactivate Avatar, transforming his mana into a shield to continue blocking in front.

The violent energy continued, the shield was worn away, and his health, which had just recovered halfway, was once again pushed down.

This time, seeing that there was nothing else he could do, Arthas was preparing to Blink in, attacking Kil'jaeden and using vampirism to sustain himself.

But if he left, Azshara would inevitably be exposed to the attack, and his effect as a shield wall would disappear.

A sudden inspiration struck him. At this critical moment, he suddenly remembered something.

How could he have forgotten this move!
