Chapter 129 - Deathwing

My apologies, Archdruid Malfurion.

My apologies, Illidan, Son of Light and Shadow.

At most, I won't use Frostmourne to gut you in front of the Frozen Throne in the future.

dragon Isles, Valdrakken City.

This city was jointly built by the five Great dragon Aspects. The Chromatic dragons each have a region under their jurisdiction, and this city, built together, is where they host visitors and handle the dragonflights' daily affairs.

The entire city is like a brilliant pearl standing on the plains, with waterfalls cascading down from the mountains surrounding it. From here, one can gaze upon the distant coastal fortress.

The blue dragonflight imbues the city with magic, the red dragonflight makes the city's vegetation vibrant, the black dragonflight guards the city, crushing all threats, and the Green dragonflight brings dreams as ethereal as a mirage.

Beneath the colossal tower, many dragonmen, mutated after pledging allegiance to the Aspect dragons (Blessed), patrol and guard. These dragonmen have humanoid upper bodies and strong animalistic lower halves. Their stamina and combat prowess are excellent, and they are not lacking in intelligence.

The Aspect dragons (Blessed) do not lack soldiers; they merely lack intelligent beings who can help them with tedious daily tasks.

Many things can be entrusted to soulless rock constructs, but more complex alchemy, guiding young Aspect dragons (Blessed) in their growth, and so on, are not tasks rock constructs can handle.

As soon as Sinestra returned, she saw that the five Great dragon Aspects had been summoned to a meeting on the top floor. They preferred to appear in mortal forms rather than their dragonforms, which were less cumbersome.

Deathwing frowned slightly upon seeing his wife. He sensed something unusual, as if his wife had run off with another male?

This was a bit of a delusion. He was the strongest Earth-Warder; how could any other creature be stronger than him?

Was it queen Azshara from near the Well of Eternity?

But she was also a female; how could she do such a thing?

During this period, the relationship between the five Great dragon Aspects was very harmonious. They had worked together to resolve many crises and had accepted the Titans' blessings of power, along with the corresponding responsibilities.

Not long before, they had sealed away the Incarnate dragons, their close relatives who had waged war against them. These were Aspect dragons (Blessed) infused with Azeroth's most primal elements.

Aspect dragons (Blessed) without any power enhancements are called Proto-dragons; most have little intelligence and are akin to beasts.

Proto-dragons who accepted the Titans' power transformed into Aspect dragons (Blessed), while Proto-dragons infused with elemental power were called Incarnate dragons.

The conflict between the two sides was over the direction of dragon evolution. The Titans were, after all, outsiders, and their interference undoubtedly ran counter to the native Proto-dragons.

Different beliefs, like religious wars, are fundamentally irreconcilable.

Alexstrasza stepped forward and gave her a hug. The mature woman's cheeks had a few freckles, which, instead of being flaws, perfectly highlighted her sophisticated, older-sister charm.

"Sinestra, is there something you need to urgently gather us for?"

She didn't know why, but she smelled a familiar scent on the other party, a scent that should only be left by a mate.

This strange phenomenon immediately put her on alert. Could it be that her mate had been unfaithful?

That wasn't right either. Although there was no reproductive isolation, it was very difficult for different types of Aspect dragons (Blessed) to lay dragon eggs, and even if they did, the eggs would crack or even be stillborn.

This oddity made her quite suspicious, and this scent didn't seem to belong to a dragon, yet she found it somewhat familiar. This was very strange; she didn't remember having any mates other than Aspect dragons (Blessed).

"The Burning Legion has arrived, near the Well of Eternity. Azshara has been repelled. Behind the Burning Legion is the fallen Titan Sargeras, preparing to invade Azeroth, destroy the world, and enslave the World Soul."

Sinestra kept her explanation brief, and knowing history, she also understood that the dragonflights would form a united army and all go into battle, leaving only some dragonmen and sub-adult Aspect dragons (Blessed) to guard the dragon Isles.

As Aspect dragons (Blessed), the mission to protect Azeroth rested upon them. Even if their power vanished, they would never abandon this responsibility; this was what made them unique.

In the distant sky, even from a great distance, a green beam of light could be seen shooting into the heavens. That was the direction of the Well of Eternity.

Green flames occasionally fell from the sky, and upon closer inspection, they were exactly stone giants wrapped in flames!

The five Great dragon Aspects' expressions grew solemn, and they all simultaneously looked at Neltharion, the King of the black dragonflight.

He was the strongest among the five Great dragon Aspects; only after he went mad would red dragon queen Alexstrasza take over command.

Although he had already made contact with N'Zoth and was starting to become somewhat neurotic, the essence of an Aspect dragon (Blessed) still remained.

As the Earth-Warder, the Old Gods sealed beneath the ground could easily contact him, beginning their incessant whispers. This hallucination of constantly hearing voices in his ear was initially nothing, but what about after a year, ten years, a hundred years?

It would eventually drive anyone mad.

Now, Deathwing was on the brink of madness. He had once told his brothers and sisters, but they hadn't taken it seriously.

Without the ability to control the earth, they couldn't know how deep this pain truly was. He yearned for liberation, and now, using the Burning Legion to destroy this world and simultaneously kill that damned Old God was the best opportunity!

"Gather all forces, leave the elderly and the young Aspect dragons (Blessed), and depart immediately."

Deathwing's expression remained unchanged; he was still the wise, steady, and reliable brother.

Only Sinestra knew that her former mate was about to cause the dragonflights almost genocidal losses.

This aura couldn't be mistaken; it was the aura that her master called the Old Gods. The Fel and madness made even her tremble with fear.

The other dragon Aspects went to prepare; there wasn't much time to hesitate. They had to immediately lead their forces to provide support and notify the other Titan Guardians.

Soon, only Deathwing and Sinestra, the husband and wife, remained in the tower.

The silence was terrifying; even the airflow around them was constrained and bound by the black dragon King's wrath. He walked towards her, step by step, backing her into a corner.

"Are you hiding something from me?"

Sinestra quickly sent a message to her master through a special hearthstone, forcibly suppressing her fear.

"queen Azshara has a new mate, very powerful, and he has a special aura about him, like the whispers you once spoke of."

What!

The sturdy obsidian floor instantly cracked, and the entire council hall began to tremble.

The next second, a figure flickered over; it was a dark-skinned female elf, truly somewhat unique.

It was Sindragosa, the dragon queen of the blue dragonflight. She looked at the two with some confusion.

"What happened?"
