Chapter 49 - Chapter 49: Stardust Revolution

Chapter 49: Stardust Revolution

"Sixth Soul Skill—Instant Annihilation."

The Mantis Soul Emperor turned into a streak of dark green light, vanishing from Lin Beiya's sight. Even though Lin Beiya could vaguely sense his movements, his body wasn't fast enough to react.

The powerful slash struck him square in the chest, sending him flying before he crashed heavily onto the ground. The Aries Gold Cloth helmet clattered away with a crisp metallic sound.

A surge of excruciating pain flooded Lin Beiya's body. The Mantis slash was not only sharp—it carried a corrosive darkness attribute that prevented his wounds from healing.

This was the worst injury Lin Beiya had suffered since arriving in the Douluo Continent.

"Don't just stand there! Finish him now—before anything unexpected happens."

"Yes, boss!"

Seeing Lin Beiya gravely injured, the Black Tiger Soul King and Vulture Soul King prepared to deliver the final blow.

Their ten-thousand-year soul rings lit up at the same time as they activated their fifth soul skills.

"Fifth Soul Skill—Black Flame Charge!"

"Fifth Soul Skill—Rending Wind Meteorfall!"

Black-red flames roared forward like a tidal wave, accelerated by a violent gale, and rushed straight toward the staggering Lin Beiya.

But Lin Beiya, dragging his wounded body as he slowly stood up, was burning with rage.

He had mentally prepared himself to lose to God King Tang… Or even be killed by Bibi Dong someday…

But to be done in by this group of petty small-fry?

Wouldn't that make everything he'd been through a complete joke?

"You think you've already won? Go to hell!"

"Stardust Revolution!"

Backed into a corner, an overwhelming force erupted from Lin Beiya's small body. Golden light exploded around him, and above his head, a miniature galaxy formed—within it, countless stars gathered into blazing golden meteors.

The meteors instantly shattered the two Soul Kings' combined attacks and continued forward with unstoppable force, slamming directly into their bodies.

"AHHH!!"

Their agonizing screams lasted less than a second— because in the next heartbeat, both Soul Kings were vaporized by the golden meteors. Not even ash remained.

It was as if they had never existed in this world.

The Mantis Soul Emperor was absolutely terrified. His entire body trembled uncontrollably.

The Lin Beiya before him had transformed into a radiant figure wreathed in golden light—holy, majestic, and terrifying.

"You… you… What the hell are you?"

No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't comprehend it.

A lineup of one Soul Emperor, two Soul Kings, and three Soul Ancestors— yet they were being crushed by mere two Soul Grandmasters?

But Lin Beiya didn't intend to give him time to think. With a single motion of his hand, countless meteors materialized above the Mantis Soul Emperor, crashing toward him like the wrath of the heavens.

The spiraling golden currents and the raining meteors suffocated the Soul Emperor with pressure. He hastily activated the same extreme-speed soul skill from earlier, retreating at full speed. He barely managed to escape the mini-galaxy's range.

Now he fled like a frightened stray dog, without even daring to look back. The only thought left in his mind was—run.

Lin Beiya raised his hand with difficulty, and the nebula above him shifted direction, following his command. Just as he was about to finish off the fleeing Soul Emperor, a sudden wave of weakness flooded his entire body.

In the next moment, Lin Beiya collapsed to the ground, losing consciousness.

The two Soul Ancestors fighting Shi Nuo sensed the approaching footsteps in the distance. Without hesitation, they abandoned their attack and fled after their leader toward the city gates.

Seeing this, the severely injured Shi Nuo finally released the breath he'd been forcing himself to hold. His legs gave out, and he fell to the ground in a disheveled heap.

Gazing at his unconscious brother in the distance, his heart filled with worry.

"Beiya… Are you okay…?"

The footsteps grew closer—it was the Spirit Hall night patrol.

"Who dares cause trouble in Spirit City!?"

"I… I'm Shi Nuo, a fourth-year student of Spirit Hall Academy. That over there is His Holiness the Pope's disciple, Lin Beiya.

We were attacked… please report to the Pope immediately and send a healing-type soul master!"

The leading guard froze in shock upon hearing this. He instantly understood the severity of the situation.

A Pope's disciple being ambushed inside Spirit City… This was not something that could be taken lightly.

He had heard of Lin Beiya before, and although the child lying in the distance was hard to see clearly in the dark, the figure matched the Pope's disciple perfectly.

The captain immediately assigned two members to escort Lin Beiya and Shi Nuo, then hurried toward the Spirit Hall to report. The remaining guards rushed in the direction Shi Nuo pointed out, hoping to catch the culprit.

...

"What? Such audacity—this is a direct provocation against me, the Pope!"

"Investigate immediately. I want to know who dares to act so boldly!"

Upon hearing the guard captain's report, Bibi Dong instantly flew into a rage. She had only taken Lin Beiya as her disciple not long ago, yet someone dared to attack him openly in Spirit City. It was simply outrageous.

The captain trembled under the killing intent radiating from Bibi Dong, his lips quivering as he stammered:

"Y-yes… Your Holiness, the… Pope… I will send people to search the entire Spirit City for the assailant at once."

"Also… your disciple seems to be injured…"

Bibi Dong waved her hand, signaling the captain to withdraw and carry out her orders—she would handle the rest.

"I understand. Leave Beiya to me. Immediately send people to capture the culprit."

"Yes!"

The captain, feeling as if he had been pardoned, hurriedly saluted and quickly left the Pope's Palace.

After a brief moment of composure, Bibi Dong sighed inwardly.

She more or less guessed who had ordered the attack on Lin Beiya. But the truth was, she still hadn't firmly secured her position, nor had she broken through to the Rank 90 Title Douluo level. For now, stability had to come first.

Dealing with the Devil Bear Douluo directly was impossible at the moment—but giving him a warning was necessary. Otherwise, where would her prestige come from?

As for whether Lin Beiya would develop resentment because of this, she didn't particularly care.

After all, their master-disciple relationship was built purely on mutual interest.

She intended to use Lin Beiya's rising fame to strengthen her authority, while also observing whether his future Gold Cloth could compensate for her ugly martial soul and aid her in battle.

Meanwhile, Lin Beiya sought the position of Holy Son, hoping to help Qian Renxue secure her status.

Both sides were simply getting what they needed. She believed he wouldn't be foolish enough to play petty tricks.

She ordered healing soul masters to come to the Pope's Palace to treat Lin Beiya and Shi Nuo. After spending over ten minutes in Lin Beiya's room, the Healing Soul Saint finally stepped out.

"Your Holiness, Lin Beiya is fine. Most of his injuries have already recovered after treatment."

"As for the coma caused by soul power depletion, he only needs a few days of rest."

"I understand. You have worked hard."

Calling staff to work late at night, Bibi Dong still maintained the demeanor of a Pope and spoke a few encouraging words to the Soul Saint.

After he withdrew, Bibi Dong turned her gaze toward Shi Nuo, who was anxiously staring at Lin Beiya's door.

"Your name is Shi Nuo, correct? You and Beiya both come from the North City Orphanage."

"Ah?"

"Yes, Your Holiness. Will Beiya be alright?"

Bibi Dong showed a faint smile, reassuring him:

"Don't worry. Beiya's injuries aren't serious. His soul power is simply exhausted. A few days of rest will do."

"Really? That's great!"

Hearing that his brother was fine, Shi Nuo immediately jumped up in excitement—only to tug at his injured back and wince in pain.

"All right, your wounds also need healing. Try not to make sudden movements, or your injuries may reopen."

"Now then, can you tell me exactly what happened at the time?"
