Chapter 52 - Chapter 52: The Desire for Telekinesis

Chapter 52: The Desire for Telekinesis

Although a bit disappointed, Lin Beiya didn't let it dampen his spirits. It simply meant that from now on, his cultivation path had an extra requirement—the Cosmo.

He firmly believed that as long as he persisted, one day he would definitely gain full control and be able to unleash those ultimate killing moves at will. Heaven rewards hard work, after all.

After finishing his tests, Lin Beiya began his physical training for the day.

He wasn't sure if it was just his imagination, but ever since awakening the Cosmo, the weighted training clothes that once challenged him now felt far too light—almost useless.

"Looks like I'll have to forge heavier ones."

Weighted running, squats, push-ups, frog jumps… Lin Beiya didn't plan to skip a single exercise. He wanted his third soul ring breakthrough to be even greater, and before that, sweat was inevitable.

Halfway through his training, Lin Beiya's sharpened senses suddenly detected someone stealthily watching him from the entrance of the back mountain.

At first, he thought it was Bibi Dong and didn't care too much.

But as time passed, the person neither stepped forward to give guidance nor left.

With Spirit Hall so busy right now, Bibi Dong definitely wouldn't waste time doing something like this.

"Strange… who could it be?"

Unable to figure it out, Lin Beiya simply decided to ask directly. He stood up and shouted toward the entrance:

"Watching someone cultivate for so long seems rather impolite, don't you think? Why not come out and talk face-to-face?"

Being exposed startled the hidden observer. Shocked by Lin Beiya's terrifying perception, he no longer concealed himself and flashed into view.

"Young Lady sent me to check on your safety. I also heard about the assassination attempt in Spirit City. Since you seem unharmed, this old man will return and report back."

Seeing the slightly chubby middle-aged man and hearing his explanation, Lin Beiya immediately guessed his identity—

Porcupinefish Douluo, one of the two guardians protecting Qian Renxue during her Heaven Dou Empire mission.

"Thank you, Senior. Please don't tell Xiao Xue about my encounter that night. Just say I got lightly injured in a soul duel."

Porcupinefish Douluo neither agreed nor refused. He simply turned around, ready to leave.

But Lin Beiya called out to him.

"Is there something else?"

"Please give this to Xiao Xue. It'll help with her cultivation."

Lin Beiya handed over the Aries Gold Card. Porcupinefish Douluo nodded, accepted it, and disappeared in a flash.

Muttering to himself about the man's odd personality, Lin Beiya more or less understood why Qian Renxue had sent him.

She must have sensed the Aries Gold Cloth being summoned back and grew worried. That was why she took action. Thinking about it warmed Lin Beiya's heart—despite being thousands of miles away, his little angel still cared deeply for him.

After finishing his physical training, Lin Beiya planned to visit his good brother Shi Nuo.

The guy had also been injured in the assassination incident. With healing soul masters and a Gold Cloth helping him recover, he should be mostly healed by now.

At the academy dorms, he found Shi Nuo. When the chubby boy saw Lin Beiya intact and standing before him, he grew overwhelmingly excited—finally able to calm his anxious heart.

A few days ago, when he went to the Pope's Palace main hall to ask, he'd only been told that Lin Beiya's injuries had healed but he hadn't woken up yet. It had nearly scared him to death.

"Beiya! Thank goodness—you finally woke up!"

"The other day, I was so scared I thought you were already… already…"

Lin Beiya's mouth twitched.

What, did this guy think he'd gone to help King Yama light a cigarette?

"It's not that exaggerated. I just comprehended a new type of power."

"A new type of power?"

As soon as Lin Beiya said that, the chubby boy's attention immediately shifted toward the words new power, just as expected.

"That's right—a power independent of soul power. I call it Cosmo."

"When you wore the Taurus Gold Cloth, you must've sensed there were some techniques you couldn't activate, right? The Cosmo is the prerequisite for triggering those hidden combat skills."

"And that night, in the final moment, the power I unleashed was the Aries Gold Cloth's ultimate killing move."

To make it easier for Shi Nuo to understand, Lin Beiya used the power he released during the assassination attempt as an example.

Sure enough, even though Shi Nuo didn't yet understand what a Cosmo was, it didn't stop him from being fascinated by it.

"So that's how it is… Then… Can I use the Cosmo?"

Lin Beiya rolled his eyes. Why else did he explain all this? Since the Douluo Continent was capable of wielding the Cosmo, then of course, he wanted the people around him to try as well.

"You can think of the Cosmo as a special sense independent of the five senses—a sense that grows stronger with cultivation."

"To awaken the Cosmo, you must temper your physique and five senses to extreme levels—neither can be lacking. And beyond that, you also need an opportunity."

"For me, that assassination attempt… was the opportunity that triggered the awakening of my Sixth Sense."

Hearing this, Shi Nuo instantly lit up. Over the years, he had been training his physique and five senses according to Lin Beiya's methods. He wasn't as monstrous as Beiya, but he was far stronger than ordinary people his age. That meant he also had a chance to awaken Cosmo.

"That's great! I'll train even harder from now on!"

"Mhm. I never doubted that. This time, I came first to tell you my body is fine, and second, to let you know about the Cosmo. Only with its help can the Gold Cloth unleash its full power—and truly assist you in battle."

Lin Beiya had seen Shi Nuo's hard work with his own eyes. From his massive physique to his solid muscles, it was clear the guy never slacked.

After saying goodbye, Lin Beiya returned to the Pope's Palace. From afar, he spotted a tiny figure—Hu Liena—poking around his courtyard.

When she saw him return, Hu Liena happily waved and ran toward him.

"Senior Brother, you're finally awake! I made some pastries for you."

Seeing the basket on the table, Lin Beiya smiled and nodded. Regardless of how lovestruck this girl might become in the future, right now her care was sincere. Nothing on her face was fake.

Giving her some guidance during training wouldn't hurt.

"Thank you, Junior Sister. I'm fully recovered. Starting tomorrow, continue physique training with me."

"Yes, Senior Brother!"

The little fox was overjoyed that he was finally accepting her. Her bright eyes curved like crescent moons.

After watching him eat the pastries she had made, Hu Liena sensibly cleaned up and excused herself. This made Lin Beiya even more satisfied.

Returning to his room, Lin Beiya prepared to test whether the awakening of his Sixth Sense would grant him any special abilities.

In the Saint Seiya Hades arc, the pair Mu and Shion were especially outstanding in their use of telekinesis.

A powerful telekinetic could manipulate atoms to create matter, tear open space itself, and transport people or objects across distances.

This ability made Lin Beiya extremely envious. Teleportation existed on the Douluo Continent, but it was extremely rare and came with many limitations. If he could freely teleport using telekinesis, it would bring immense advantages in future battles against strong opponents.
