Chapter 54: Bibi Dong's Curiosity
Receiving her senior brother's acknowledgment, the little fox's eyes lit up with joy. She nodded repeatedly, promising that she would never slack off in her physical training.
Of course, Lin Beiya had his own reasons for stressing this. After all, the Golden Generation of the Spirit Hall was ultimately defeated by Tang San in front of the entire world.
Even when Bibi Dong tried to keep them, Tang Hao appeared at the crucial moment and forcefully took his son away.
At the moment, Lin Beiya didn't have any reliable method for dealing with Tang Hao. So, if he couldn't handle that problem directly, strengthening the Golden Generation's overall power might be the best way to change the outcome of that battle.
Facing the martial soul fusion of Xie Yue and Hu Liena, Shrek Academy struggled to win even in the original timeline. If he reminded them early to be wary of hidden weapons, their chances of victory would increase significantly.
That way, not only could he salvage the Spirit Hall's reputation, but he might also prevent Tang San from obtaining that head soul bone. Truly killing several birds with one stone.
Over the next half month, aside from training Hu Liena, Lin Beiya devoted most of his attention to cultivating telekinesis. After confirming that he indeed possessed talent in this field, his progress became quite gratifying.
After fifteen days of effort, he could already lift a teacup into the air using only his will. Although the cup wobbled shakily as it rose, it was still a successful instance of manipulating an object from a distance.
From here onward, he simply needed to follow this path and continue training. With enough sweat and persistence, the results he wanted would surely appear.
---
During this same half-month, another significant event caught Lin Beiya's attention.
A few days earlier, Bibi Dong came to inform him that she needed to leave for an important matter. If he encountered any cultivation difficulties during this period, he should make note of them and wait for her return.
Anything requiring Bibi Dong to personally leave the Spirit Hall for an extended period… Lin Beiya could think of only one thing.
Some rabbit in the Star Dou Great Forest was about to suffer misfortune.
And once Bibi Dong returned, she would shatter Tang Hao's recently established record as the youngest Title Douluo on the continent—by a huge margin.
Even the prodigious Tang Hao didn't achieve the Title Douluo realm until age forty-four. Right now, Bibi Dong is thirty-six. She had advanced the record by eight full years.
Yet Lin Beiya didn't find this accomplishment difficult to surpass. With his talent and the cultivation acceleration provided by his Gold Cloth, breaking that record in the future wouldn't be hard.
Initially, the person with the greatest potential to surpass that record was Qian Renxue, who possessed innate full soul power at rank twenty. But since she was currently in the Heaven Dou Palace, who knew how much time she had left for cultivation?
This led Lin Beiya to once again inwardly curse the idiotic decision made by Qian Daoliu. Was the entire Douluo Hall filled with old monsters not capable of protecting one little girl?
Speaking of Qian Daoliu, since Lin Beiya had joined the Pope's Palace months ago, the old man had never contacted him—not even once. It was as if he had been completely forgotten.
Whether Qian Daoliu truly remembered him or not wasn't what Lin Beiya cared about. What he truly worried about was whether he would receive a refill of whale rubber when his current supply ran out next year.
He had already given part of the whale rubber to Shi Nuo for physical training. As a result, his own supply was depleting much faster than expected.
If no replacement arrived when the time came, he would simply have to tell Bibi Dong about the benefits of whale rubber and ask her to send someone to retrieve some from the coast.
Even if their relationship was based on mutual interests, Lin Beiya believed Bibi Dong wouldn't be stingy with such a small cultivation resource.
Another week passed before Bibi Dong quietly returned. Not even the members of the Spirit Hall had noticed the Pope's departure.
Compared to when she left, the powerful woman now wore an even more confident smile. It was obvious that the hundred-thousand-year soul ring had greatly strengthened her.
Characters like the Devil Bear Douluo would no longer be able to challenge her pride without suffering for it.
During her half-month absence, Lin Beiya hadn't encountered any cultivation issues. She couldn't help with telekinesis anyway. As for her newly accepted disciple Hu Liena, the girl spent most of her time training with Lin Beiya, so whenever she had questions, he naturally helped her resolve them.
This left Bibi Dong unusually idle—and also faintly disappointed.
When she was young, she encountered countless obstacles in her cultivation, constantly seeking guidance from Qian Xunji. Why were both of her disciples now so… problem-free?
As the Pope, she naturally couldn't take the initiative to ask her disciple whether he had encountered any problems in his cultivation. All she could do was occasionally take a bit of time out of her political duties to quietly observe from afar.
But the more she watched, the more she realized something completely outside her expectations.
After finishing their intense physical training, the senior and junior disciples would simply sit on the ground and enjoy the pastries and tea Hu Liena had prepared in advance.
And the moment Lin Beiya finished his pastries in just a few bites, he would begin practicing his telekinesis out of boredom.
Two teacups slowly rose into the air as if lifted by an invisible hand, gently circling Lin Beiya in a smooth centripetal motion.
This much wasn't surprising to Bibi Dong. If she used her soul power, she, too, could easily accomplish something like this.
The problem was that from beginning to end, she didn't sense even the slightest fluctuation of soul power coming from Lin Beiya.
In other words, her eldest disciple was doing all this without using soul power.
Just because she could see it didn't mean Hu Liena could. Thinking this was her senior brother's new training method, the second disciple hurriedly swallowed the rest of her pastry and immediately tried to imitate him with the teacup before her.
With the help of soul power, the teacup began trembling lightly. But making it rise into the air… the little fox was still far from capable of that.
"Senior brother, come take a look! Why can't I get the teacup to float?"
"Is it because my soul power isn't strong enough?"
Hu Liena's small face flushed bright red from trying too hard. Unable to do anything more, she finally turned to her senior brother for help.
But before Lin Beiya could say a word, Bibi Dong's voice sounded from behind them.
"Your senior brother isn't using soul power to control the teacups. Forget you—even your teacher couldn't do such a thing."
"Teacher! You're here?"
Hearing Bibi Dong's voice, Hu Liena instantly stood up in surprise and delight. After calling out to her, she immediately bowed respectfully.
Lin Beiya also rose slowly and saluted Bibi Dong.
"Teacher."
Ignoring the little fox, Bibi Dong kept her gaze fixed firmly on Lin Beiya.
"Beiya, can you tell me how you managed to do that?"
As she asked, her cheeks warmed slightly. As a teacher, she hadn't taught her disciple anything yet, and now she was the one asking him for cultivation techniques.
Not that she thought this kind of training had any real use in battle—she was simply curious.
Lin Beiya had long sensed Bibi Dong's arrival, and in fact, he'd never intended to hide his telekinesis in the first place.
The reason was simple: without talent, no amount of effort would allow someone to do more than lift a teacup.
In truth, the Saint Seiya world had far more than just Shion and Mu capable of using telekinesis. But only they treated it as a standard combat method.
Was it because the other Gold Saints couldn't master the cultivation method? Obviously not.
It was simply because after putting in immense effort without reaching the results they desired, they all eventually chose not to waste any more time or energy on it.
