Chapter 7 - Meeting (2)

Aikawa Saki followed Instructor Onizuka to his office.

"Come in, is there anything you need?"

"The commander requested for me to check my file in the police academy to have it sealed appropriately," Aikawa Saki said nervously.

"Are you going on some missions?" Instructor Onizuka was checking on her file and then quickly added, "You don't have to say anything if it's inconvenient to do so."

"Ah, no, it's fine. I'm just going to be more busy." Aikawa Saki's face almost twisted when she thought about her recent missions.

There were too many things to do.

And because of her high efficiency and accuracy, she was basically the first one the Commander looked for whenever there was trouble.

This resulted in her having to go out on mission constantly, only having enough breaks to sleep at night.

As for eating?

She'll always eat on the way.

This time, she came here just to check in her file since the commander was worried that her obvious physical appearance would allow people to find her.

There were not many police officers as short as her even among the women.

Instructor Onizuka nodded. "Alright, it's done. Do you want to check it yourself."

"No, I trust you, Instructor."

"Do you have something to do later? You can take a look at the academy…."

Brrt.

Hearing her phone vibrate, Aikawa Saki gave an apologetic look and then opened her phone. The moment she saw it, her expression turned solemn and sharp.

"Sorry, Instructor Onizuka, I have to go."

Instructor Onizuka shook his head in amusement and waved his hand. "Go."

Aikawa Saki ran out of the police academy at the fastest speed possible while cursing in her mind. To save time, she easily jumped over the wall and headed straight to the Metropolitan Police Department.

What she didn't know was that Furuya Rei saw this and was stunned by the skills shown by the strange person.

So fast!

And it seemed that there should be an emergency for her to go though this way instead of the gate.

"Furuya, have you find the tools?"

"Ah, here."

What followed ever since then was nothing more than neverending missions. Whenever she had thought of brushing her presence in the police academy, something will definitely happen.

At that point, Aikawa Saki gave up.

She had the feeling that the game didn't want them to have too much contact in the past during this special time dungeon.

'Or do I need to pay more popularity points to be able to do it?'

She's still in the 'past' so how should she gain popularity points when she couldn't even appear in front of these characters?

This is really a vicious cycle...

Why did the game allow them to enter the past timeline first in the first place, through?

Either way, Aikawa Saki felt really tired.

Looking at her target through the sniper scope, Aikawa Saki felt irritable.

She's here to get popularity points and not to become a model worker!

Damn it!

Even if she does like shooting…. But doing this kind of mission day by day is very tiring!

After she finished her mission sullenly, Aikawa Saki wore a medical mask and a hat as she walked out of the training ground. She glanced at the bomb disposal unit not far from her and tilted her head.

For some reasons, she wanted to make her presence known there.

Furuya Rei's batch should have graduated, right?

She missed Instructor Onizuka a bit.

At least, she could focus on training at that time.

But now…

Heh.

Aikawa Saki thought of something and walked to the special training ground. When she saw the young man with cat eyes who was training as a sniper, her eyes flickered slightly.

It's Morofushi Hiromitsu.

They have graduated and she couldn't even increase her presence in front of them. How sad…

"Oh, you're here, Kawa." The instructor smiled when he saw her. For some reason, her colleagues usually called her Kawa.

After all, they couldn't really call her with her real name during missions.

And this Aikawa Saki was a true workaholic.

She was either in the training ground or on the mission site. Because of this, not many people knew her and only knew she was called Kawa.

Her face also remained unknown since she usually wore a mask and hat after the training was done.

Then again, there were not many female SAT officers in the first place.

Anyone who could enter were basically the elites of the elites.

"Yes, Sawada. I haven't seen you for a while, so you're training newcomers," Aikawa Saki greeted back.

She and Sawada were in the Support Snipers position, usually responsible for sniping their targets. Among the people in their group, the two of them were known as the best.

"Ah, no, he's going to be in the public security, but I was asked to teach him sniping." Sawada Yoshiko shrugged.

"Ooh." Aikawa Saki nodded and didn't know how to continue the conversation.

How to interact without making the young man suspicious?

She's confused.

"Hey, Kawa, show the newcomer how the best sniper in Japan works?" Sawada Yoshiko smirked and handed over the sniper rifle.

"Are you serious? There are many other people who are better than me." Aikawa Saki shook her head in amusement.

"What do you think, Morofushi?" Sawada Yoshiko ignored her and turned to look at Morofushi Hiromitsu.

Morofushi Hiromitsu was looking at this female officer curiously and then said, "Please teach me, Senior."

Aikawa Saki: "..." He called me senior, right?

For some reason, she suddenly hoped the barrage would be here and show this scene. Ahh, how many people will have the privilege to be called senior by Morofushi Hiromitsu?

Aikawa Saki sighed and nodded. "Then, set it up, Sawada. 1500 yards moving target."

"1500 yards?" Morofushi Hiromitsu was stunned.

That… isn't it a bit too far?

"Normally, we would not pick such a long distance for sniping," Aikawa Saki explained patiently as she set up the sniper rifle. There were a few types here and she picked the light one with the longest reach. "But sometimes there is no effective range and being able to do long distance sniping is essential."

After saying that, Aikawa Saki crouched down and looked at the target that Sawada Yoshiko had set up.

Tsk, it's moving at the speed of 60 km/hour.

Bang!

Target hits.

And the next one was added 50 yards, moving at different speeds.

Aikawa Saki remained calm and continued to aim while speaking, "The most essential part of a sniper is to keep calm at any moment. Strike at the most crucial moment because sometimes, chances only appear for a fleeting moment."

Bang!

"Never hesitate when you do your mission, even if the order is to kill your target."

Bang!

"It might be difficult to do, but you have to remember that many people's lives depend on you, so at that critical moment, you still have to pull the trigger."

Bang!

"Perhaps the greatest possible consolation would be the fact that you're apprehending criminals… even though it would have been better to put them in jail rather than killing."

Bang!

"But sometimes, there's no chance for it to happen."

Bang!

Amidst the shooting, Aikawa Saki explained to Morofushi Hiromitsu. She didn't make her words extremely clear, but she was basically giving him encouragement.

Because she knew that he would have to become an undercover agent.

It's definitely more difficult than her current work.

Morofushi Hiromitsu listened attentively. He could feel the care from this senior and even though Aikawa Saki was focused on sniping, she could still spare the time teaching him.

Bang!

"Ah, I missed it." Aikawa Saki shook her head and stopped.

She felt a bit pretentious and embarrassed, but for the sake of first impression… QAQ

Morofushi Hiromitsu looked at the target that was close to the center but missed a few millimeters. It was a narrow miss, but such a short distance was still a miss.

And the distance…

Morofushi Hiromitsu looked at the target and fell into silence.

2100 yards.

It was really far away.

"Sawada, you handle the rest," Aikawa Saki said as she disassembled the sniper rifle quickly and put them in the case.

"Don't worry. See you tomorrow, Kawa!" Sawada Yoshiko waved his hand. When Aikawa Saki could no longer be seen, he turned to look at Morofushi Hiromitsu with a smirk. "How is it? Very powerful, right?"

"Yes, Senior Kawa is amazing," Morofushi Hiromitsu said with emotions.

He had never seen anyone stronger than her and the words that Aikawa Saki told him were etched in his mind deeply.

He will remember his senior's advice.

"To be honest, Kawa is more suitable to be a teacher than me. She's also definitely the best sniper among the police officers and probably only the soldiers in the Ground Self Defense Force have better ones. But the Commander wants to use her abilities on the field more." Sawada Yoshiko shook his head. "She's definitely one of the busiest people in the entire group."

Morofushi Hiromitsu nodded in understanding.

With such ability, there was no way the higher ups didn't want to use her.

Well, the more capable a person is, the more they'll be asked to do things.

It's just obvious.

And Aikawa Saki just failed to realize that half of the reason why she couldn't get rest was because of herself. Who made her such a model worker and was loved greatly by the Commander?

With such a useful subordinate, he felt that his work has become easier.

Only Aikawa Saki felt the great malice of the world.

Aikawa Saki breathed a sigh of relief after coming out.

She was actually very nervous.

After all, this would be the first time she met with Morofushi Hiromitsu personally.

First impressions are very important.

To be honest, Aikawa Saki thought of various things, especially about how to grab popularity points from the other six players. 1 million popularity points is a lot and it wouldn't be easy to let people remember her without her losing her life.

Just like that no. 7.

He died right after showing off his face because he simply picked the essential and sought death. But since he managed to catch many people's attention, his popularity basically soared for a while and will probably be remembered for a while.

'Hmm, if you only think about how to get 1 million points of popularity without thinking about the consequences, such methods are actually very cost efficient…'

But Aikawa Saki didn't want to.

She wanted to live.

Perhaps it's because of this little bit of hope that she chose to enter the Conan's world far earlier than necessary.

Shaking her head, Aikawa Saki went out and started to do her round of patrol.

Yes, patrol.

She wanted to know if it was possible to change the bomb thing before it was time for Hagiwara Kenji's death. If it was not possible, then she would go to the site in person and defuse it before Hagiwara Kenji came and took out the explosive. This way, even if there was some backup, the bomb wouldn't explode.

Aikawa Saki has learned some bomb disposal skills, but it would be her first time dealing with it.

Hmm…

She walked down the street and helped a few people along the way. For a moment, Aikawa Saki sincerely wondered why there were so many old ladies losing their cats.

And these cats always brought her into trouble.

She didn't want to count on how many times she had encountered trouble because of these cats!

But until it was time for November 6, Aikawa Saki still made her way to Asai Apartment and strolled around. She had basically hacked the surveillance cameras and turned it off.

Otherwise, her suspicious behaviour will definitely warrant her a scolding from her superior.

She didn't want to count how many times she had been scolded ever since coming to this world.

In her previous life, she's clearly a good student who had never caused trouble.

But in this world, she had turned into a troublemaker.

She's really bad…
