Chapter 88: The Devil
The island had shattered into pieces, smoke and fire rising like the remnants of a dying world. Sora Nithel sprinted toward the navy warship, his cape whipping violently in the wind.
Sora (yelling): "Set sail now!"
The warship groaned as its engines roared to life, slicing through the turbulent sea. Sora leapt aboard, gasping for air.
Sora: "We have to report this… immediately."
Orimo collapsed to his knees, steam rising from his battered body as he reverted to his human form. Every breath burned like fire in his lungs.
Auransa, standing on the deck of their ship with Ryuki, shouted over the chaos:
Auransa: "Come aboard, Orimo!"
Even exhausted, Orimo pushed forward, his legs trembling. With a final surge, he leapt onto their ship, barely keeping his balance.
Orimo: "I'm… exhausted."
Auransa (panting): "What was that!?"
Orimo (smiling weakly): "I don't know how I did it… but my heart aches and yet… I feel stronger."
Ryuki: "That was insane… You're something else."
Orimo laughed, a deep, almost primal sound that echoed over the waves.
The news spread like wildfire. Whispers became headlines, and headlines became fear itself. The ancient devil, the one who had once challenged the seven gods of the world and nearly brought it to ruin, had returned.
Scene shifts to Ashveil Kenny
The wind tugged at his black cloak as he stood on the deck of his ship, eyes scanning the horizon. The world seemed smaller under the weight of what had just occurred.
Ashveil (reading a newspaper, voice calm but intense): "He might be a threat even to us… Though our abilities surpass even mythical limits, I can defeat him without a doubt. That devil… Kid."
