Chapter 54 - 54

However, Minato instantly calmed down and asked, "What about the other one?"

Kyuushin's expression grew hesitant. "In terms of chakra alone, the other one's reserves are much larger than a Chunin's, but the chakra itself gives me a familiar feeling."

The expressions of his teammates quickly became serious. Chakra reserves are an important factor in measuring a ninja's strength, and having more than a Chunin meant that this person possessed the basic qualities of a Jonin.

"That's not right," Nawaki said. "The mission scroll clearly states it's a B-rank rogue ninja. How could a Jonin-level character appear?"

Minato shook his head. "Missions aren't always set in stone. It's not strange for unexpected situations to arise."

"So what do we do? Should we just abandon the mission?" No matter how reckless Nawaki was, he wouldn't believe that the three of them could defeat a Jonin.

"There's no need to rush," Kyuushin said. "Although that person's chakra is vast, it doesn't feel refined. It's very different from the Jonin chakra I've sensed in Konoha." Both of them looked at Kyuushin. He thought for a moment, then elaborated, "The chakra of Konoha's Jonin feels more intense and heavy to me, like hard iron. This person's chakra is more ethereal, like cotton. In my opinion, he shouldn't have the strength of a Jonin." He paused, then added, "But this is just my feeling, and I can't guarantee it's correct, so we have to make a choice now."

Nawaki rubbed his head. "Can't we just quietly tie up the target and leave?"

Before Kyuushin could speak, Minato directly shut it down. "No. First, we're not sure if they're together. Second, this town is too small. If we make a move, and if the other person really is a Jonin, he'll easily sense the chakra fluctuations. There's no way to hide it."

"Alright, then you two decide what to do. I'll listen to you," Nawaki said helplessly.

Minato didn't speak, but just nodded firmly at Kyuushin.

Seeing both of them express their stance, Kyuushin no longer hesitated. "Okay, we'll go directly to confirm the mission target's location. If the target is correct, you two will go all out to capture him. I will go to contain the other enemy."

"No!" Nawaki and Minato exclaimed in unison.

Minato immediately said anxiously, "It's too dangerous for you to go alone. If the opponent really is a Jonin, you'll be in too much danger. It's better for two of us to contain him, and one person to capture the target." Nawaki nodded repeatedly in agreement.

"No," Kyuushin directly rejected the suggestion. "The mission target takes priority. The other party is also a Chunin. If only one person acts, it would be bad if he reacts. If we're going to act, we must hit him in one go."

"As for me," Kyuushin smiled, "even if he really is a Jonin, I might have a chance to contain him. You wouldn't think that the level I train with you at is my true strength, would you?"

"But..." Nawaki still wanted to protest, but Kyuushin interrupted him.

"No buts. If he really is a Jonin, once you succeed, immediately return to Konoha for reinforcements. I promise you, I will not die."

Minato and Nawaki looked at each other, then gritted their teeth. "Okay, we'll listen to you."

With the plan set, the three of them wasted no more time and went directly to the vicinity of the mission target, confirming it was their mark. "I'll leave this to you," Kyuushin said. The two nodded firmly and then rushed into the house.

Kyuushin, on the other hand, went directly to the other target's residence. When he arrived, a strong chakra fluctuation came from behind him. Minato and the others had started to act. He took out a kunai, staring intently at the residence, guarding against a surprise attack. However, after a long time, the door did not open. Within his Kagura's Mind's Eye perception, there was clearly a vast chakra inside, but he saw no action. Even after the chakra fluctuations from the other battle ceased, there was still no movement here.

Kyuushin cautiously approached, stopping a few steps outside the house. At this distance, if it were truly a Jonin, they should have already noticed his arrival. He waited for a while longer, but still, nothing.

So he spoke directly. "Friend inside, please come out and talk." After a moment of silence, the door remained tightly shut.

"If you don't come out, I'll break in," Kyuushin said again, a hint of threat in his tone.

After he finished speaking, there was finally movement. He heard a female voice say, "Is that a ninja-sama? We are just ordinary villagers, please don't hurt us."

*Ordinary villagers? With such vast chakra?* Kyuushin was puzzled.

"Open the door!" This time, his voice carried a hint of ruthlessness.

"Yes, yes, we'll open it right away." The person inside sounded flustered. Kyuushin immediately gripped his kunai tightly, his own chakra circulating, ready to strike at any moment.

The door opened, and a man holding a stick walked out. After seeing Kyuushin's attire, he immediately said, "Ninja-sama, we are all ordinary villagers of the Land of Fire. What do you mean by this?" However, according to his sensory perception, this person did not possess chakra. Kyuushin immediately said, "Let the other person come out."

The man hesitated for a moment, and seeing that Kyuushin was still just a child, he said to the inside of the house, "You come out."

Kyuushin focused his gaze, but the sight that greeted him made his body tremble. A beautiful woman walked out of the house, and in an instant, he saw that she had a head of soft, long red hair.

Red hair. In the world of Naruto, this was basically a mark only possessed by members of the Uzumaki clan.

"You... are you an Uzumaki?" Kyuushin asked, his voice barely a whisper.

Under the moonlight, the woman also saw Kyuushin's red hair. She seemed just as surprised. "Yes... yes, may I ask you..."

However, Kyuushin still didn't let down his guard. "Then how do you have chakra?"

"I... I received ninja training when I was young, but later I gave up," the woman said nervously, obviously afraid that Kyuushin would treat her as a hostile ninja. He thought for a moment. Her story was plausible. Due to Uzushio's long-standing peace, many clan members were unwilling to become ninja. After confirming the situation, Kyuushin finally put away his kunai. He hadn't expected the second powerful ninja signature to be such a misunderstanding.

"When did you come here?" he asked.

"Kiyoko has been with me for four or five years now," the man replied.

Kyuushin nodded. The Uzumaki clan did not forbid marrying outside the clan, so it was normal for some members to be scattered in other places. "May I ask if you are also an Uzumaki?" the woman, Kiyoko, asked.

"That's right. I am the grandson of the Third Elder, Uzumaki Kyuushin." The Uzumaki clan currently only had a few adult members left, so meeting one by chance naturally made him feel a sense of kinship.

"So it's Kyuushin-sama. I also know the Third Elder. He took good care of me when I was in the clan." Kiyoko hadn't returned to Uzushio in many years, so she was naturally very happy to see a familiar face.

Kyuushin, however, remained silent for a while. It seemed the clan member in front of him did not yet know the news about Uzushio's destruction. This place was far from their homeland, and information traveled slowly. He hesitated, unsure if he should be the one to tell her.
