Chapter 66 - 66

"Grandma, I've successfully mastered the Nature Transformation of Wind and Water Release," Kyuushin shared after finishing his medical ninjutsu class for the day.

"Oh? That's amazing," Mito said, smiling and patting his head in praise.

"Grandma, I found that my previous guess was correct; the cultivation of Nature Transformation also follows a pattern," Kyuushin began, explaining the inspiration he had gained from the Third Hokage, as well as his own explorations over the past few days.

"So that's how it is. I've been a ninja for decades and never thought about it that way. The Third Hokage's title as the 'Professor' is indeed well-deserved," Mito said with emotion. She then continued, "Unfortunately, this method of cultivation cannot be popularized. Not everyone has a talent like yours, but you can certainly write down this theory."

"Yes, I know," Kyuushin replied, but then added, "Grandma, Wind and Water Release are my innate attributes, so they're easy to cultivate. But what should I do about the other attributes?"

Mito was startled, then laughed. "Are you really planning to cultivate all five?"

"Of course, Grandma," Kyuushin replied as if it were obvious. "I have this ability, so why shouldn't I cultivate all the Nature Transformations?"

Mito shook her head. "It's not that it's impossible, it's just not cost-effective. Most ninja only cultivate one main attribute, plus at most one or two sub-attributes. In combat, they usually only have a few ninjutsu as their primary means of attack. You now have Wind and Water Release, you've learned Tsunade's Monstrous Strength Fist, and you're learning sealing jutsu and medical ninjutsu. It feels a bit too scattered, no matter how you look at it."

Mito was right; this is how most ninja operate. Tsunade, for example, is not incapable of other ninjutsu, but in combat, she generally only uses her signature strength. Kakashi, known as the "Copy Ninja," mastered a thousand jutsu, but usually only used Chidori to defeat his enemies. The Third Hokage was the same; although he was the Professor, he generally only used his summoning technique combined with Fire Release in combat.

But Kyuushin was different. He had the Gene Lock as a cheat. As long as he learned a ninjutsu, under the Gene Lock's state, he could basically cast it instantly after familiarizing himself with it. He wasn't afraid of learning too many things. Moreover, his desire to learn all five attributes wasn't just for that reason.

"Grandma, I've always wanted to understand the principles of Nature Transformation. Do you know why?" Kyuushin didn't directly answer her question but instead asked her one of his own.

"Is there another reason?" Mito also became curious.

"Of course. Understanding the principles of Nature Transformation is just the first step. Only when this first step is completed can I proceed to the next, which is synthesizing a kekkei genkai."

"A bloodline limit?!" Mito exclaimed in shock.

Yes, Kyuushin's initial goal was not limited to just the five basic natures. His true objective had always been bloodline limits, and even the Kekkei Tota and the ultimate goal, the Kekkei Mora. No matter how powerful the five attributes are, cultivating them to the end would only reach the Third Hokage's current level, allowing him to use various compound ninjutsu. But in Kyuushin's view, this was still too weak. And looking at the entire ninja world, one fact almost everyone agrees on is that bloodline limit ninja are significantly stronger than ordinary ones.

If compared horizontally, a regular Jonin and a bloodline limit Jonin, in most cases, the latter would have a significant advantage. In fact, according to Kyuushin's values, almost all ninja in the current world, whether Genin, Chunin, Jonin, or even Kage, only pursue the power of 'jutsu'. Whether it's an E-rank or an S-rank ninjutsu, they are all just 'jutsu'. In terms of life level, everyone is the same. The process from bloodline limit all the way to Kekkei Mora is what truly constitutes the ninja's 'path'. So, Kyuushin was very curious: if an ordinary ninja were to cultivate step by step from a bloodline limit to a Kekkei Mora, would he be considered to have evolved?

So, facing Mito's shock, Kyuushin appeared very calm. "Yes, Grandma. After comprehending the mysteries of Nature Transformation, I want to try if I can synthesize a bloodline limit."

"You certainly dare to dream big, Kyuushin," Mito said after calming herself. "But as far as I know, most of the existing kekkei genkai in the ninja world have been passed down for thousands of years, or a ninja suddenly awakened one. No one has ever actively synthesized a bloodline limit, and there's not even any record of it."

Kyuushin smiled. "No one was able to peek into the mysteries of Nature Transformation before either, but haven't I succeeded now? My guess is that the reason no one has actively synthesized a bloodline limit is because they don't even know how Nature Transformation works, let alone how to synthesize one."

Yes, according to his guess, understanding the mysteries of ordinary elemental Nature Transformation is only the first step. There have been many geniuses in the ninja world. Could it be that they disdained cultivating a bloodline limit? Kyuushin thought it was impossible. Even if a bloodline limit didn't provide a significant boost to a ninja of their strength, it could be passed down to descendants. Not doing so when they could would be too abnormal. Therefore, there is only one truth: they did not understand the mysteries of Nature Transformation. Without mastering the key, they naturally couldn't enter the gate. Although the Third Hokage had some guesses, he had no way to verify them. And now, in the entire ninja world, Kyuushin was probably the only one who met the conditions and could put it into action.

"You're right, Kyuushin. You are special," a light seemed to shine in Mito's eyes. After hearing his analysis, she also found it very reasonable.

"Then Grandma, do you have a way to help me successfully perceive the other attributes?" Kyuushin returned to his initial question. After some thought, he added, "In my current state, I can perceive quite clearly within my body, but outside it's much weaker. It's best to do it within the body."

Nodding, Mito indicated that she understood. "It needs to be within the body, and it can't affect perception... It seems I'll have to design a specialized sealing formula," she muttered to herself. "Alright, I already have an idea. Don't worry, give your Grandma some time," she told him.

"Okay, thank you, Grandma."

Kyuushin was very happy to have this matter resolved. He had originally planned to wait until he unlocked a hypothetical Third Stage Gene Lock to consider this problem, but he didn't expect Mito to solve it for him directly.
