Chapter 44 - Signora: “Jealous of My Power, Are You?”

Chinju Forest.

Sayu had been fast asleep, curled up peacefully under a tree—

until a glowing light screen suddenly called out to her.

She jolted awake, thinking someone had come to arrest her,

but it turned out the mysterious screen was summoning her by name.

She had noticed this strange phenomenon earlier, but since it didn't seem dangerous, she'd ignored it and gone right back to sleep.

Now, suddenly, they were talking about her?

And what's worse—Lady Ayaka, Guuji Yae, and even the Shogun herself were all watching?!

[Yae Miko]: Sayu's still underage~

[Kamisato Ayato]: True, but there aren't any laws in Inazuma forbidding child labor, are there? (Qiqi·faint)

[Yanfei]: Oh, in that case, I can't charge anyone. (disappointed)

[Furina]: (disappointed)

[Sayu]: Can I go back to sleep now? (longing)

[Paimon]: Wait—Sayu, you keep napping because you want to grow taller, right?

[Yae Miko]: This little one's height hasn't changed in ages. She's probably developed a fixation on it—especially since everyone her age is nearly twice her height.

[Yoimiya]: No wonder she's obsessed with sleeping! She really believes naps make you taller? (curious)

[Sayu]: I–I'm not a tanuki! I'm a mujina!Mujina!

[Kaeya]: (meme grin)

[Venti]: If I recall, the Knights of Favonius have a small knight too, don't they? (mischievous)

[Jean]: Lord Barbatos, why must you always light fires inside your own house?! (frustrated)

[Dvalin]: Well, the Anemo Archon is all about freedom. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if you told me Barbatos just handed Mondstadt over to Morax.

[Zhongli]: That does sound like him.

[Gu Chen]: It's called free will, you uncultured bunch. (meme grin)

[Klee]: Little Knight? You mean Klee, right? Hehe! Klee's the Spark Knight! (Klee·yay)

[Yanfei]: So even Mondstadt breaks the law now?!

[Jean]: The moment she started sending bombs as gifts, everyone should've realized how dangerous she is. (Jean·sweating)

[Klee]: Klee just wanted to share her bouncy bombs with everyone... (Klee·sad)

[Kaeya]: Alright, alright, let's get back on topic. Logical question—Yoimiya, could your fireworks serve as a distraction?

[Yoimiya]: Hehe~!

[Gu Chen]: That hehe says it all. You and Klee would get along way too well. (meme grin)

[Klee]: (Nilou·peek)

[Yoimiya]: Ehehe, we'll definitely have lots to talk about someday! Anyway, it's time for our little tanuki to make her move!

"...If I get caught," Sayu muttered nervously, "please come save me…"

Lumine nodded.

Then the plan began—Yoimiya's fireworks lit up the sky, drawing the guards' attention.

Moments later, Sayu slipped back into the Komore Teahouse, looking dazed and sleepy.

She wasn't sure what exactly official documents looked like, so she just… stole everything that looked important.

Among the papers were not only reports from the Tenryou Commission to the Shogun,

but also letters detailing secret correspondence with Fatui.

Kujou Sara's face paled as she saw the evidence.

Her eyes shut tight in anguish.

She had never imagined her own clan could betray the Shogun.

She tried to tell herself, this is just a story from a past life…

But the evidence was overwhelming—

The events in Mondstadt with Dvalin, Morax's abdication in Liyue, the suffering under the Vision Hunt Decree in Inazuma—

all of them matched the so-called "videos" exactly.

Even the Geo Archon himself had admitted that the events shown were true.

There was no denying it now.

The Kujou Clan had truly betrayed the Shogun.

"…Hah."

Sara exhaled slowly, her expression turning cold.

She rose to her feet and gathered her troops.

Without hesitation, she marched toward the Tenryou Commission headquarters.

[Arataki Itto]: Whoa! The tengu's family betrayed the Shogun?! That's insane!

[Kaeya]: For a key government branch to turn traitor… that's catastrophic.

[Paimon]: In the video, Miss Sara's already heading for the Tenryou Commission!

[Heizou]: I didn't see that coming… You holding up, General?

[Paimon]: No reply… She must be really shaken up.

In the video.

"So, the missing reports and letters… you took them?" Kujou Takayuki sneered.

"Then it's true?" Sara demanded. "You really betrayed the Shogunate?!"

"Hmph. Yes, I've had dealings with Fatui. And the documents you hold were indeed written by my hand."

[Paimon]: He admitted it that easily?!

"The Fatui offered benefits in exchange for helping enforce the Vision Hunt Decree," Takayuki said coolly. "There are countless clans eager to tear us down. Aligning with a foreign power not only strengthens our position—it lets us use the decree to weaken our rivals. A fair trade, wouldn't you say?"

Sara's voice trembled with disbelief.

"You always revered the Shogun—how can you speak of betrayal so lightly?!"

"Betrayal? Hardly." Takayuki laughed. "The Fatui are merely tools—pawns I've used. What could they possibly do? On Inazuman soil, a single thunderbolt would strike them down like insects. After all, we serve the invincible Raiden Shogun—the wielder of Musou no Hitotachi!"

[Tartaglia]: I can't even wrap my head around this.

[Signora]: Foolish man.

[Gu Chen]: So, let me get this straight—you allied with a foreign power to manipulate the Vision Hunt Decree for personal gain. That's not just treason, that's treason squared. You're basically trying to hollow out the Shogunate and crown yourself emperor!

[Kaeya]: Worships the Shogun fanatically while betraying her—Kujou Takayuki really mastered cognitive dissonance! (meme grin)

[Furina]: Seems like rebellion runs in Inazuma's blood! (certain)

[Zhongli]: …No comment. (Subway Old Man·scrolling phone)

[Nahida]: (trembling)

"I once doubted whether enforcing the decree was right," Sara said, her tone heavy. "I wondered if defying my own sense of justice was worth it. But I told myself—as long as it was the Shogun's will, right and wrong didn't matter. But now I see—the path to Eternity has no end. And your greed has already stained it with filth."

"So I will correct the Shogun's ears—and give meaning to the loyalty I've held until now!"

Takayuki snorted.

"Foolish girl. Pointless idealism. Go if you wish—but you'll change nothing. The Kujou Clan's power is unshakable. The Shogun's occupied right now—meeting the envoy from Snezhnaya… the one they call the Lady."

[Lumine]: "The Lady!"

[Paimon]: "So she's behind everything in Inazuma too?!"

"The envoy from Snezhnaya, huh…" Sara muttered, fury burning in her eyes. "She won't leave Inazuma unscathed!"

She stormed out of the room, and Lumine and Paimon raced after her—ready to confront Signora themselves.

[Keqing]: Wait, again? They're going after Signora? Sara and Lumine can't possibly beat her!

[Collei]: Isn't Gu Chen with them? If things go south, he can at least help them escape, right?

[Lumine]: Or—and hear me out—maybe the reason I got chased across Inazuma by the Shogun in the first place was because of Signora! (alert)

[Tartaglia]: Wait, Signora's that powerful?! (Childe·shocked)

[Signora]: Jealous of my power, are you?

[Tartaglia]: No, I just… worry you might die in Inazuma, that's all.

[Signora]:Heh. You underestimate me.
