The countless wishes of the people gathered upon Lumine.
That vast, surging power filled her veins—
enough to shake even the heavens.
Without a word, she raised her silver spear and strode toward Raiden Ei.
Ei, too, was silent.
She could feel it—
that strength born from her people's hopes.
Vast, boundless, radiant—
a force that seemed capable of doing anything.
Fragile though a single wish might be,
when thousands upon thousands joined together…
even the most obstinate god of thunder could not ignore them.
Boom!
A shockwave blasted through the realm.
Raiden Ei staggered backward, eyes flickering with something complicated—
doubt, awe, grief.
Was Lumine truly her opponent?
Of course not.
With the power of a god, Ei could have slain this mortal girl effortlessly.
And yet—
those wishes, that faith,
lent Lumine strength she could not have possessed on her own.
Strength enough that even Ei had to take her seriously.
Boom!
Another clash split the air.
Ei opened her mouth, but no words came.
She understood.
She had lost.
Not to Lumine's spear,
nor to the might of another god—
but to the will of her own people.
Their countless hopes, once dismissed as fleeting and fragile,
had defeated her Eternity.
Raiden Ei looked at Lumine with disbelief in her eyes.
"You've lost, Ei," Yae Miko said softly.
Ei exhaled a long, weary sigh.
"…Yes. I've lost."
"Why couldn't you believe in your people?" Miko's voice was quiet, yet unyielding.
"Why couldn't you trust in the power of their wishes?"
"Their wishes have transcended distance, space, and even time.
They can no longer be silenced or destroyed."
Miko's gaze was calm but sharp.
"The Traveler saw it in Liyue—
that when humanity runs with all its strength,
they can surpass the gods' predictions, even take their place.
Beyond the sea lies a land where humans leave their gods behind.
Why should we, then, cling to stillness and abandon the will to move forward?"
Raiden Ei's expression shifted—
struggle, sorrow, realization flickering across her face.
"With every step forward," she whispered, "comes loss.
You've seen it too, haven't you, Miko?
Only Eternity… only Eternity can—"
Her voice trembled as she began to speak of her past.
"Where the lightning flashes… the shadow falls.
I am that shadow.
With resolve unbroken, I purged Inazuma of all that stood in the way of stillness."
"But with every advance… something precious slipped away.
In the end, I even lost her."
Visions flickered across the screen—
a monstrous serpent cleaved in two by a single strike,
a furious thunderbird pierced by arrows,
endless waves of twisted abominations,
a nation torn apart by war and ruin,
and a fading figure in her arms,
her sorrow turned to resolve.
And finally—
a motionless puppet, sitting alone in meditation,
her soul sealed away in the Plane of Euthymia.
[Kujou Sara]: So the Shogun… she went through all that…?
[Kamisato Ayaka]: I think… I can finally understand her feelings. Her way was wrong—but not her heart.
[Sangonomiya Kokomi]: The Great Serpent of Watatsumi… sigh.
[Zhongli]: "To share a drink beneath the laurel tree… yet when will we meet our old friends again?"
[Venti]: …Sigh.
[Nahida]: (Confused emoji)
[Yae Miko]: The stubborn god has begun to change…
But how can one atone for the mistakes of the past? (sighs)
[Raiden Ei]: I…
Ei was despondent.
She had seen it all—
and all of it pointed to one truth:
the Vision Hunt Decree, her pursuit of Eternity, had been a mistake.
She had chosen a path destined to fail.
Even without Gu Chen, without the Traveler,
her nation would have fallen to ruin under her silence.
"I really was wrong…"
"Sister…"
"Enough," Yae Miko whispered, drawing Ei into a gentle embrace.
"This world is not the same. Nothing's happened yet—you still have time to make it right."
Ei's eyes brightened again.
"Then I will not let the Shogun persist on that false path.
My Eternity… was the wrong one."
[Lumine]: So what now? Raiden Ei finds redemption, Inazuma prospers…
and what about me? What about me?!
[Raiden Ei]: …I'm sorry.
[Kaeya]: Wow, the past-life video really hit Miss Lumine hard. (curious)
[Paimon]: She was devastated when Gu Chen died!
If she could fight, I bet she'd be on the first boat to Inazuma right now! (Paimon: shocked)
[Nilou]: It's such a shame it's only a past life… If only it were real, then maybe Miss Lumine and Mr. Gu Chen—no, I mean—if only he'd lived!
[Lyney]: My magician's intuition says this video's about to end…
or perhaps Miss Lumine's next journey is about to begin.
In the video.
Though Lumine never forgave Gu Chen's death,
When the wishes faded away, her strength could no longer match Ei's.
The Raiden Shogun apologized sincerely,
but Lumine only replied coldly:
"I don't need the sympathy of my companion's killer."
Ei was left speechless, guilt heavy in her heart.
And so, she abolished the Vision Hunt Decree.
Beyond the Plane of Euthymia,
she saw Eternity reflected in her people's eyes.
"Some wishes can heal pain, bring victory, and rekindle hope."
"And some wishes—
even when their bearers have long perished—
remain as bright and sincere as the moment they were born…
shining on, into Eternity."
Grand Narukami Shrine.
Under the sacred sakura tree, Yae Miko stood beside Lumine, who stared silently into the sky.
With a sigh, Miko reached into her sleeve and produced a sealed envelope.
"He left this with me," she said softly. "He didn't explain, only asked that I give it to you later.
Perhaps… he already knew how it would end."
Lumine's pupils trembled as she took it with both hands.
Sunlight poured through the petals,
the wind scattering cherry blossoms around her like falling snow.
Miko quietly turned and left her alone.
Lumine opened the letter.
"To my dearest travel companion, Lumine."
"If you're reading this, I've probably fallen under the Shogun's blade."
"I'm sorry. I can't keep traveling with you anymore.
But please—don't blame me, don't blame the Shogun,
and don't let hatred cloud your eyes."
"You must keep moving forward.
The road ahead is full of mysteries, wonders waiting for you to see."
"Oh, and—Paimon kept nagging me to make that grilled fish we had the first day we met.
It wasn't even seasoned properly!
Shame she won't get to taste it again."
"She's the best guide we could ever ask for.
Take care of her, Lumine…
and take care of yourself too."
"Let go of the grief.
Travel light, my friend."
[Venti]: @[Gu Chen] Bro, are you trying to kill me with tears?!
[Keqing]: Aaaah!! That letter just brought back all their memories together!!
[Raiden Ei]: My guilt just got even worse…
[Yae Miko]: (photo of Ei with teary eyes)
The scene shifted.
Lumine and Paimon were traveling once again—
to Sumeru, to Fontaine, and beyond.
New lands, new stories, new friends.
And yet, whenever she found a moment of peace,
she would return to Inazuma.
Even when she couldn't,
she sent letters and photographs back to Yae Miko—
asking her to burn them at Gu Chen's grave,
so that perhaps, somewhere, he could see them too.
