While all five of them, led by Hu Xiao surrounded Predacon, he was also looking for an opening and way to finish all of them quickly. Because, as time will pass they will understand his attack pattern and may be able to capture him.
"Heh, try to act hard. Just wait and see how I capture you." Looking at him, Hu Xiao taunted.
Hearing the taunting words, anger began to rise yet he remained calm.
Whether it is their arrogance or trust in their leader, Hu Xiao no one activated their martial soul. Knowing that he had a chance, he attacked the weak looking man from the group.
Bending his all four legs to the lowest, he suddenly lounged at the thin person closest to him.
"AAAHHH..." the man screamed after looking at the beast lounging at him. Maybe he was too scared, he didn't activate his Martial Soul at all.
ROAR —
With a loud roar he slammed that man to the ground and without wasting a second bit his head off.
CRUNCH— CRACK—
With a sound of crunching and cracking the head of that man becomes meat paste under the jaws of Predacon.
The sudden attack and death of one teammate made them realise the grave danger. So they hurriedly distanced themself from Predacon while activating their Martial Soul.
"Martial Soul, possess." With a loud shout, Four Martial souls appeared behind the remaining people with various soul rings.
Behind the Leader Hu Xiao, a brown bear appeared. Its face looked hideous and the whole body radiated earthly brown.
"Brown Bear, Possess." With his command, the body of Hu Xiao changed drastically. His height increased, brown hair covered his body, his hands turned into the bear shaped claw. He now resembles a brown bear with a human head.
Looking at him, Predacon understands that this individual is more dangerous than the Black Tiger he fought. While others looked much weaker, because of their martial souls. One has a black rat, one has white cat and the last person has a martial soul looking like a thread. All of them are only Three ringed soul masters, with only Hu Xiao being four ringed with two yellow and two purple soul rings.
"Everyone, don't attack recklessly. Mu Yun first controls that soul beast. And then Hu Ming and Lu Jun, you both attacked him from the sides. I will deal with the main damage. Remember, our goal is to capture this beast." Even when his teammate was killed just now, he still thought he could capture this soul beast.
"Are you mad, Hu Xiao? Don't you see how Lu Ke just got killed. We have to fall back otherwise consequences would be unknown." Hu Ming shouted at Hu Xiao.
"I saw it. That's why I'm more certain. Also, we were just careless." Hu Xiao answered him.
Predacon, who is again surrounded by these four people dumbfounded by their behaviour. Seriously, why are they still yapping? Don't they think of me as a threat? Now he understands why the completion rate of this Quest was so high. Clearly, these people are idiots.
But why would he care? They want to capture him, so killing them is not bad, is it?
Looking carefully again, he set his sight on the man called Mu Yun. As his Martial Soul is Thread, he must be a control type soul master. A control type soul master could be dangerous for a soul beast as they could control or restrict the movements which can cause soul beasts to take attack from the main attacker.
But, before he could attack, a loud shout from their leader alerted the man named Mu Yun.
"Mu Yun, be careful. This beast is going to attack you. Do as I said just now." Hu Xiao noticed the strange movements of Predacon and shouted at Mu Yun.
Without any other choice, Mu Yun, Hu Ming & Lu Jun did as Hu Xiao said.
"First Soul Skill, Thread Binding. Second Soul Skill, Reinforced Thread. Third Soul Skill, Web of Threads." Mu Yun used all of his soul skills.
Due to the thinness of the thread, Predacon could not see it. But just a second after Mu Yun activated his soul skills which were all century level, he felt like countless threads binding him and forming a web-like formation with the help of surrounding trees.
"I already restrained it, you all attack." Mu Yun said while pouring his soul power so threads remain strong and unbreakable.
"Haha, Thanks Mu Yun. Now leave it to us. First Soul Skill, Tearing Claw strike." Hu Xiao laughed and attacked Predacon. Though, he seems confident, but his mind has several doubts that's why he used ranged attack to test him.
"First Soul Skill, Demon Rat Transformation. Second Soul Skill, Earth Driller." Hu Ming, using his two soul skills, also attacked Predacon.
Though Lu Jun didn't attack immediately, he also started manoeuvring to save Hu Ming anytime, because he is the only person currently engaged in frontal combat. And if anything goes wrong, with the agility of a cat type martial soul he could save him quickly.
Predacon, who is calm till now, exploded with his full strength.
ROAR—
With a loud roar, he broke all the threads that were restraining him and prepared his move to face oncoming attacks.
Suddenly, a ball of fire condensed in his mouth and he threw it against the claw strike of Hu Xiao, as for Hu Ming taking a sharp turn he used Tail Strike on him.
BOOM—
With a deafening sound, the soul skill of Hu Xiao exploded and Hu Ming receiving Tail Strike got thrown away like a broken string. But he didn't receive much damage because the Tail Strike used just to slam him down.
"What? How is this possible? He broke all of my threads in a single moment." Mu Yun said with disbelief.
"What a monster!" Hu Xiao muttered under his breath.
"Cough, cough! Ah, what should we do now? This soul beast is clearly stronger than we think of it." Hu Ming asked.
"Hu Xiao, we better fall back otherwise we may not survive the onslaught of this beast." Lu Jun appeared behind Hu Xiao and said solemnly.
Hearing this, Hu Xiao gritted his teeth. Lu Ke is already dead and he didn't want to go back empty handed. But, he knew that if continue to capture this soul beast they all may die.
"Ok, Fall back. We will recover for our loss another way." Hu Xiao said with gnashing his teeth.
Although he said it in a low voice, everyone heard it quite clearly. So, Mu Yun and Hu Ming started to back off and regroup with Hu Xiao and Lu Jun. As they were retreating, Predacon once more gathered fire in his mouth to its fullest. Seeing this, everyone felt the true terror of this soul beast.
"Quick, Quick. Run, otherwise we will get killed." Hu Xiao shouted hurriedly and began to run at full speed in the direction where they came from.
Hu Ming, Lu Jun and Mu Yun also ran for their lives. But they forgot one thing, the young boy they brought.
After charging the Fire breath, Predacon fires it in the direction of them. And a beam of fire like a fire lance pierced everything in the way and exploded near them.
Before it could explode, all five of them activated their martial soul and dodge it with every ounce of strength remaining in the body.
BOOM—
A deafening explosion sounded. Predacon didn't want to let them because of his Quest so he also chased them, but after reaching the location where the fire beam exploded he found no one except a charred corpse. But from its scent he found it wasn't one of them.
"Damn it, let them escape. It seems like this quest is a failure." Just as he thought that the quest failed, the system's voice sounded.
"Congratulations Host for completing the Quest. Reward Appraisal skill granted."
"Wow, It is completed. But how? They clearly escaped….."
