Veritas touched his forehead, where the rock horn he made had disappeared.
Luckily, it seemed that despite utilizing that power in such way, he could still dismiss the horn.
Veritas had willed the horn to be gone and it slowly retracted before disappearing, not a single patch of rock stayed in his forehead.
'Lucky I don't have to stay being a unicorn.'
Veritas chuckled to himself before looking out the window. He was on the way to Eden Academy, the best academy in Eden city.
Meanwhile, Edward and Will spoke with one another, they seem to be reminiscing with each other about their old days...
Veritas simply let them be and closed his eyes before submerging inside his body.
Opening his eyes, he was met with the familiar sight of the black dome and black core hovering on the air.
The core hummed red circuits and it spread throughout the dome and red sea. Veritas smiled in return as he slowly stood up on the surface before walking towards one of the nearest red spike.
Veritas let the whispers flow, drowning him in their incoherent words as he touch the red spike.
"How do I get rid of you...?"
Veritas asked, he was both curious on what it was explicitly and how to destroy it so the whispers go away.
He never had once used his Agent Path against the spike to read its memory... because he was afraid.
Afraid that the Agent would instantly notice and barge its way into his inner body again, his sanctuary.
Not only that... the spike was because of the Agent. The implications of what could happen if he read the spike shuddered him as he took a slight step back.
Veritas sighed, lowering his head as he gaze at the red sea.
"One day."
With that... he got out of his inner sanctuary as he closed his eyes.
Opening his eyes, he was surprised to see a huge glassy dome in front of the car's path.
The car slowly stopped towards a border that guarded the entrance to the dome. Will rolled down the window and stated his business to the guard standing outside. Then, the car was inspected with light beaming from a camera.
Then, Will was given the green light as he nodded in acknowledgement before driving past the lifted barrier gate.
Veritas looked out the window, his eyes widening as he stared at the massive dome's wall, mesmerized.
He looked around and saw in front of him, massive pristine buildings that stood across each other, some was separated from each other, some overlapped.
He could see a massive field to the northeast from where he was watching, the whole place was unbelievably huge.
Then, on top of a building in the middle of the dome surrounded by the buildings was a sign of the letter E.
Veritas let out a shaky breath, his heart racing in his chest as a smile spread across his face.
'Eden Academy...'
Edward and Will glanced back towards Veritas, a small smile blossoming on their faces at the young man's reaction before looking back on the road.
Edward and Will didn't give the buildings a single plassing glance, focused on catching up with each other as they talked on the front seat instead.
Soon, they arrived in the parking lot, and Veritas quickly got out of the car before bowing to Will and giving him his thanks.
Edward gave Will his thanks too before following Veritas. He didn't walk in front of him, simply because he wanted Veritas to explore by himself.
But Edward did make sure that Veritas was going to the direction of the registration office.
The both of them walked towards the main building, the building in the center of the dome.
An automatic door opened, showing Veritas the interior of the building's first floor as he look around in amazement.
"You can look around more after you get into the academy, kid."
Veritas looked at Edward before breaking into a smile.
"Yeah. Of course."
Soon, they arrived in front of a counter with a woman greeting them in front of the counter and a man behind the counter, sitting in front of a computer, tapping away at the keyboard.
"Good morning sir and young man, may I help with something?"
"Morning. The boy wants to apply for the Academy, he's a first-timer, so he gets the free first time entrance trial right?"
"Absolutely! First let's confirm your identity before we get to the paperwork. What's your name young man?"
"Veritas, just Veritas."
The man behind the counter taps away at the keyboard, doing his work as Veritas stare at the counter in slight confusion.
He didn't prepare for this at all.
The man behind the counter spoke, telling the attendant that Veritas had been registered in the applicant list. Then, the attendant led Veritas and Edward into a private room.
Edward stayed out of the room, giving them privacy as he wasn't allowed to go in with them.
Inside, there was a man waiting, sitting on a chair in front of another computer and a camera.
Veritas sat down before he was taught of how the procedure works by the man.
The time passed, Veritas vaguely remembered the procedure, his mind was too occupied.
He was seriously bubbling with excitement that it had him tap his legs countlessly.
"Veritas, what is your Path?"
Veritas raised one of his brows before he looked to the attendant and then back to the man.
The attendant smiled assuringly to Veritas upon seeing his confusion and slight hesitation.
"The academy needs to record the students' Path to keep a file on every student we have. Don't worry, each students' Paths are classified and cannot be spread to others whatsoever. It is sensitive information as sensitive as your personal informations."
"Ah... okay, sorry."
Veritas quickly bowed, apologizing before straightening his torso and sighing.
This was the time he would have to lie about his Path.
"I have two Paths, one is a wind type Path called [Wind's Blessing] and the other is an earth type Path, [Earth's Blessing]."
The attendant looked at Veritas with surprise while the man simply nodded before typing in the necessary informations.
Leaning close to the man, the woman whispered.
"Wow... this is the fifth dual Paths examinee we have for this batch..."
"Not that special Eve. Even if having two Paths are a rarity but you can't manage the two, it would simply be mediocre."
The man whispered back as he grunt before ending the recording. Then, a paper was printed out from a printer as he took it before handing it to the attendant.
"Thanks John."
John, nodded as Eve the attendant, smiled before walking out of the room, mentioning Veritas to follow over.
Veritas bowed to John, giving him his thanks before following Eve.
Edward walked up behind Veritas as the three of them walked silently towards the counter in the front before Eve handed the paper to the man behimd the counter.
"Well Veritas, congratulations! You will be taking the entrance exam tomorrow. I know that this might be too sudden but you were just in time for the current wave of examinee and we had a spot left since one of the examinee decided to give up their spot. But you have the option to wait for the next wave of exam to apply if you want to."
Veritas blinked for a few times, his eyes widened.
"Huh. Guess you won't have any time for that expedition with the agency."
Edward spoke as Veritas nodded before looking at the old man.
"This is moving kinda too fast it's insane... but I'll take this chance right now, I don't want to wait."
Veritas replied to Edward before looking back to Eve.
"I'll join this wave of examinee."
