Tsunade sat on a stool beside him and watched Dosuke eat.
"Teacher, do you not have anything to do? I will clean up after eating!"
"I am a shadow clone. I came here specifically to keep an eye on you. You will go home after you finish eating."
After Dosuke finished eating, Tsunade pushed him out the door. "Okay, I do not need you here today. Go home."
Looking at Tsunade standing at the door, Dosuke felt helpless.
He turned and walked out of Konoha Hospital. Watching him leave, Tsunade formed hand seals with both hands and vanished with a puff of smoke.
Instead of heading home, Dosuke walked towards the Forest of Death training ground on the edge of Konoha.
During this time, Tachie had not looked for him once; she was likely being restricted by the Hyuga family. Because he had promised Tsunade, Dosuke never went to the Hyuga house to find her.
During his confinement to the village, Dosuke visited Minato and his girlfriend Kushina, using the opportunity to further refine his Flying Thunder God Technique.
He was still some distance from the Forest of Death. Dosuke formed hand seals and vanished from the spot, reappearing deep within the forest.
Unlike Minato's Flying Thunder God, Dosuke's understanding of space was limited. The cultivation method left by the Second Hokage in the Scroll of Seals focused more on the analysis of time-space and the perception required for the technique.
Minato was truly a genius; just from the Second Hokage's notes, he had not only learned the Flying Thunder God but had also created his own variation. It was no wonder Minato once said that the Flying Thunder God was different for every user.
Dosuke had incorporated the Reverse Summoning Technique into his version. Essentially, his Flying Thunder God used a unique method to lock onto coordinates and transport the user in a manner similar to a Reverse Summoning, acting more like a directional portal.
Because of this, Dosuke's Flying Thunder God could not mark an enemy in battle like Minato's could. His method reduced the need for deep comprehension of space-time power but placed higher demands on the user's chakra control. Dosuke did not possess Minato's innate talent for space-time coordination, so he had chosen a path better suited to his own strengths. Sometimes, perfection was not possible.
Appearing in the Forest of Death via the Flying Thunder God, Dosuke skillfully took his place at a training target. During this period, whenever he was not at the hospital, he was here in the Forest of Death developing new ninjutsu.
Minato had shown him his newly developed seal-less ninjutsu, the technique that would later become famous as the Rasengan. This ninjutsu, which required no hand seals, perfectly suited Minato's fighting style. Combined with the high-speed movement of the Flying Thunder God, the Rasengan was both convenient and devastatingly powerful.
Dosuke stretched his arms forward. A water spear over ten centimeters long formed on his index finger. He increased the chakra, and the water spear shot out rapidly, piercing a long, thin hole through the fine steel target.
Although the water spear's power was greater than before, Dosuke was not satisfied. He wanted a one-shot kill ninjutsu similar to Kakashi's Chidori.
He stretched out his palm, and a non-elemental chakra ball took shape instantly. For Dosuke, with his mastery of chakra shape transformation, the Rasengan was not difficult at all. After Minato demonstrated it for him just once, he had mastered it. Minato, watching at the time, had called him a genius.
Dosuke was well aware of the power of the Rasengan and its many variants, but his Flying Thunder God was not as flexible as Minato's and could not achieve the second stage. It could only move in straight lines. Only what suited him was best.
Dosuke looked at the Rasengan spinning in his palm, lost in thought.
"Rotation... the rotation of the Rasengan!"
A flash of insight crossed Dosuke's mind. He formed another water spear on his finger. Under his precise chakra control, the water spear slowly morphed into a conical shape, hollow in the middle, forming a hollow cone.
The cone began to spin. Whoosh. It shot straight out, easily piercing through the fine steel target and several large trees behind it, leaving a clear line of holes through the tall trees.
Dosuke frowned as he examined the results. "The penetration has improved, but it still does not feel like enough."
He condensed another water spear. Under his chakra control, the hollow water spear began to spin again. This time, the conical water spear spun faster and faster. In Dosuke's perception, the water molecules inside the spear began to boil under the intense chakra.
Snap. The entire water spear exploded right in front of him. A pale blue light flashed briefly. Dosuke's face showed no panic; his water film had automatically blocked the explosion's impact.
He condensed another water spear and repeated the process, again bringing the water molecules to a boiling point. The water spear spinning before him began to change visibly.
"It needs a vent," he muttered. As soon as he spoke, two holes appeared at the base of the water spear. Psssh, psssh! Jets of steam burst from the two holes. With the pressure released, the water spear stabilized immediately. Not only that, but its rotation speed increased abruptly.
A look of joy appeared on Dosuke's face. He flicked his hand. Whoosh~! With a sonic boom, the water spear shot out in a white streak. The moment it hit the target, the stainless steel was pierced by its tremendous penetrating power. The water spear's speed did not diminish, piercing through trees and blasting a bottomless hole into a rock face at the side of the training ground.
Quietly feeling the power of the water spear, Dosuke showed a long-lost smile. With only a small amount of chakra, the penetrating power of the water spear had reached the level of an A-rank ninjutsu. It was seal-less, consumed little chakra, and its power was not to be underestimated. This was the ninjutsu he had envisioned.
He waved his hand, instantly condensing three water spears that emitted white steam and a high-pitched beeping sound. With a flick of his arm, the three water spears slammed into the rock wall of the training ground, creating three bottomless holes.
