Chapter 19 - Leo(2)

The men froze as they entered the room. Neither of their prisoners was meant to be conscious, yet not only were they so, but they were on the cusp of escaping.

Leo acted first and picked up the fragments of the chains that had once held Alex while at the same time, the five men pointed the guns at them.

Loud gunshots shook Alex's eardrums as they pulled the trigger, swinging the nozzle of the weapon around to have maximum reach.

The bullets fell lifelessly to the ground without moving an inch, "To be honest, this almost seems boring." Leo pointed the fragments at them and they shot off at the speed of a bullet and pierced through their skulls, emerging from the other end and killing them.

Alex's breath ceased and his eyes trembled in fear, 'H-he is far too powerful! I can't escape even if I wanted to! I can only play along for now.'

Leo ran to the door and peeked out, "Okay, there's no one in sight. We don't have much time though. Others must have surely heard the gunshots."

Despite the ringing in Alex's ears, he was able to hear Leo properly,

"Wait, there's someone here. A girl, Layla. The kidnappers found her and brought her here." Alex didn't actually care too much about her but it would be better to return with her instead of alone.

Letting out a very audible groan, Leo muttered a low 'Sure' and left the room.

Alex stood from the chair, rubbed his wrists, and followed, limping, after him.

They were in a large corridor that led to both sides of whatever structure they were in, "Okay… I'll need you to go find your friend and get out of here as quickly as you can."

Alex didn't bother trying to correct the first part, "But I don't know the layout of this place." His response came after a second of thought.

Leo rubbed the sides of his head like Alex was giving him a headache, "This is going to drain me." He groaned, throwing his head back.

"Fine…" He looked at Alex, "It'll only last for about ten minutes. Use it well and be quick, I'm not going to risk my ass to help you find your friend."

He stretched out his hand to Alex and the latter stepped back, "Calm down, okay? Sheesh." Leo reached out and touched Alex's head.

A torrent of information flooded Alex's mind; shortcuts, the layout, the weapons in storage, their exact location of where they were and lastly, perhaps most importantly, the name of the people after him. 'The Black Fenrir Gang'.

The name oddly sent a shiver down his spine.

"Before you go," Leo started as a few men stormed the hall from the left, "here you go." Alex's leg healed in an instant and at the same time, one of the legs of the people running towards them twisted and broke.

Alex's jaw hung open, 'What the hell?!' But his survival came above awe and he ran.

As Alex ran away, Leo watched him turn the corner and vanish from his line of sight.

The faint smile that always hung on his face vanished just as quickly and he reached for his back pocket.

Leo pulled out his hand and opened it, revealing the dead flies in them.

The wings of the flies flapped and they flew off, alive. At the same time, most of the people charging a him died in an instant with no chance to fight back.

Despite the massacre, he was unfazed, seemingly even a little bored.

Those who had survived stopped and were ready to run away but Leo wasn't going to let them.

'After dropping James off at the police station, I noticed that after ten minutes, I was being followed.' Someone shot him in the head.

The bullet fell lifelessly and Leo moved as quickly as a bullet.

One of the gang members' knives went blunt as he weaved seamlessly between them, slicing their throats with his finger at an unparalleled speed.

'I could have killed them on the spot but why would I do that? I chose to let them catch me to see what was up. Luckily, my mission came in time.' A gang member tried to stab Leo but the blade shattered upon contact. It was like his skin was made of metal.

Leo pried the knife from the gang member's hand and plunged the broken blade into his neck.

He had killed all of them in mere moments, "I need to blend in." He looked at the bodies and let out a small sigh.

His skin rippled and changed, "I'm going to run out of energy before completing my mission." Now, in place of Leo was the gang member he had just killed.

The gang member— dead and on the floor —looked like Leo. He had swapped their looks.

"Black Fenrir Gang. Sorry, but I've been instructed to wipe you off the face of the Earth, and so that's what I'll do." He picked up a gun and cocked it.

"If not today, then tomorrow and if it'll take ten years, I'll take ten years."
