Steven hesitantly nods at Tommy's request, why on earth would a complete stranger invite someone to their... home, to put it lightly.
Both enter the rocky hut, the place seems furnished quite well, enough to sustain at least one person, a couch, makeshift kitchen and even a running water supply!
Tommy: So, what do you think? I made all this by myself!
Steven: I... yeah this is amazing, how do you get the water and gas to work though...?
The question really is, in this world, what is not possible?
Tommy: Remember the thing that blew up by my traps? Yeah, I call them absolutes. That's because when dead, they can become any type of energy! So… I made use of that and transformed them into gas or water!
Steven: Wait… so you're telling me, you consume…
Tommy: Yep! I consume their corpses!
Steven is left perplexed, almost… disgusted, how come he could sustain himself with those demonic creatures? Their broken bodies, enlarged limbs, wrong facial features…. It all seems creepy and disturbing, however, he understands that this world is not the one he used to know up there.
Steven: How did you end up here? I mean, we are NOT supposed to be in this place… right?
Tommy's smirk slowly fades away, as if to have really been affected by the question.
Tommy: I… don't really know, all I can remember is playing in this chess tournament and being mid match, before everything went dark, now I'm here.
- It's… all very weird but, I know we got sent here for a reason, I just can't tell yet. But hey! Look at the bright side, this is all so fun! Plus, I'm sure there's more people than just us. Think about the possibilities!
Steven was really surprised to hear how different Tommy's arrival here is, the fact is, how come he's so positive about a place that WANTS YOU to die? What's the point in trying to survive… but Tommy's quite right, there can be a light in the dark.
Steven: I got here from falling down. I… was going back home from shopping, when I met this strange girl.
- She saluted me as if she completely recognized my appearance, but truth be told... I had no absolute idea who she was… after some moments, everything seemed odd, turned black, and was thrown into the river water. I then fell.
Tommy realized something, the situations may be different, but the symptoms are all the same… being engulfed by darkness, then completely passing out, to then arriving here, all except for how Steven completely fell physically… that he could not explain.
Steven: So… should we move forward in search for more people? Maybe they know something.
Tommy Thinks about Steven's idea, after all, standing here is dead time wasted, but also a heavy risk of injury, or even death.
Tommy: Alright, let's go, I don't think being in here makes us win more.
Both leave the hut from the door and depart over to the expansive rocky grey land that awaits them. Kilometers both of length and height, it was incredibly spacious, as if the earth had a roof the altitude of clouds, the monotone grey filling in all of the area, yet not dark at all… make's this world as weirder as it can get.
After some rough kilometers worth of walking, they come to a complete stop. Absolutes, multiple of them. All being completely different, both in aspect, body and probably in ability.
Steven: What do we do? Do we fight them? I uh, have this.
Steven shows Tommy his sword, although rusted, it still keeps some of its sharp capabilities.
Tommy: If you manage to distract them enough, I can set up some explosives.
Both of them nod, as they slowly approach the Absolutes, ready to face off the horde, although small enough to kill, some part of their protective instincts doesn't want them to. They don't know how they behave, kill or even fight, but they will have to go through.
They start running, adrenaline filling their blood, the Absolutes start to notice them, and run towards them like lunatic maniacs, Steven stops for a bit, as he manages to deal some blows, although wonky, still effective.
Tommy's seen setting up traps and explosives around the perimeter, away from the Absolutes as to not attract a lot of attention.
Steven: HURRY UP PLEASE!
Tommy knows the situation is grave and tries his best to completely set up the traps… moments pass by, filled with imminent danger, but then.
Tommy: STEVEN GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE NOW!
Steven practically smiles in salvation, as he was dreading to hear that, he sprints off towards Tommy, sword in hand, blood stained hands.
The absolutes are not fast, but also quite swift when it comes to pure desire to consume. A clock running out of time, Steven finally reaches Tommy, seconds before the Absolutes do so, and expectantly….
*BOOM, SKABOOSH, SQUASH*
A hail of explosions fill the dead silent place with thunderous bangs, as corpses and bodies start flying around the place, seconds pass, and everything calms down.
