Chapter 42 - Chapter 42 – Choice: The Sharingan!

The Dimensional Roulette's lottery was based purely on probability—so even with the blessing of Lady Luck, it demanded a mountain of money to fuel that "luck."

Even the high-tier roulette often spat out meaningless junk after delivering a single good item.

So, after choosing to claim the Sharingan ability, Ren had no choice but to abandon his earlier plan—to wait until Zoro repaid his debt, then, once he was stronger, take on Arlong's crew.

This new plan was the safest.

But he decided to make a more aggressive adjustment: after finishing business here, he'd head straight for Cocoyasi Village.

Depending on how far his "billion-Beli jackpot progress" had advanced, and how much stronger he'd grown, he'd decide whether to strike down Arlong's gang immediately.

Either way, Nami's treasure was already his.

Arlong's gang had terrorized the East Blue for years; their accumulated wealth had to be worth several hundred million Beli.

That would nicely fill in the gap toward the one-billion-level jackpot.

Whether for revenge on his body's original owner or simple profit, Arlong's crew was a must-eliminate target on Ren's list.

Zoro's combat power, as a temporary ally, had to be utilized to its fullest before they parted ways.

Without that swordsman's strength, Ren wasn't confident he could win against those Fish-Men.

After all, in the original story, Arlong was shown taking a cannonball to the face—and biting it apart.

Utterly absurd. Even Ren would dodge a cannonball.

The Fish-Men's tenfold strength advantage over humans was beyond reason—if that applied to reality, it was downright unfair.

And Arlong wasn't alone; he had a small army of henchmen. Captain Nezumi's corrupt Marines might even lend him support.

All of that had to be taken into account.

Fortunately, Ren's latest gains were enough to significantly boost his own power.

"Then—let's begin."

The countdown display in his vision flickered out. A searing pain ignited deep in his eyes.

He instinctively shut them tight, fingers digging into his thigh as he endured.

A stifled groan escaped him—rising, then cutting off sharply.

When he opened his eyes again, they were no longer the same.

The solid black pupils were gone, replaced by a crimson hue.Within that scarlet, a small black comma-like mark curved along a faint circular outline—a single tomoe.

"Not gonna lie… this looks damn cool."

Ren pulled out his portable mirror, studying the reflection of his Sharingan, and nodded in satisfaction.

Power was temporary—but style was eternal.

He flicked a coin into the air.

It spun upward, flashing between its 500-Beli face and the patterned back before landing back in his hand.

Then he flicked it again—this time, his single-tomoe Sharingan began to rotate slightly.

The coin rose once more, spinning and flashing just as before.

Yet in Ren's eyes, the motion slowed to a crawl—like the world had switched to half-speed.

As his focus sharpened, the rotation grew even slower.

Front side—500.

Ren relaxed, closing his eyes.

Clink.

The coin struck the ground, spun for a few seconds, then came to rest.

When he opened his eyes again, the coin lay still—500-side up.

Perception enhancement… dynamic vision… improved reflexes?

Ren muttered to himself as he summoned the translucent display—his status panel had changed again.

[Name] – Ren

[Age] – 18

[Race] – Human

[Talent] – Single-Tomoe Sharingan

[Strength] – G

[Agility] – G+

[Constitution] – G

[Luck] – G++

[Charm] – E

[Traits] – Wanderer Between Worlds / Fate's Chosen Tidebreaker

[Negative Buff] – Stamina Drain

[Note]:The Sharingan's immense power consumes vast amounts of chakra—but you possess none. Thus, it passively drains your physical stamina to sustain itself, operating at low efficiency.Your Sharingan cannot fully awaken.Excessive stamina depletion will trigger Stamina Decline, which, if prolonged, will cause Organ Failure—and eventual death.

Two new brackets had appeared—[Talent] and [Negative Buff].

It seemed the Dimensional Roulette's interface wasn't fixed—it changed dynamically depending on the prize.

Ren examined his stats. These were his true attributes without the Third Calabash Brother template or chakra amplification.

Strength and constitution remained unimpressive, but agility had risen significantly—almost exponentially.

Not due to raw speed, but to faster reflexes and sharper perception.

From H– to G+ might not look like much—but it was a huge leap.

The description even mentioned the ability to see the trajectory of arrows. While arrows weren't as fast as bullets, that alone was a major upgrade.

And according to the footnote, the Sharingan's full potential wasn't even unlocked yet.

If it could be fully unleashed, his agility might reach F-tier.

Had he possessed this during the Bloodhand Gang battle, the outcome would've been very different.

With the Sharingan's insight, he could have dodged before the enemy fired—instead of reacting after hearing gunshots.

That difference was enormous.

Such was the power of talent.

Of course, the cost was just as steep.

The Stamina Drain debuff could lead to organ failure over time.

After re-reading the note several times, Ren reached a conclusion:When stamina couldn't sustain the Sharingan's energy consumption, it began draining life force instead.

Compared to the Third Calabash Brother template, this drawback was severe.

But then again, even jackpot templates weren't perfect.

Even though his Vajra Child form's skin was bulletproof, the impact still hurt—it caused bruising, not bleeding.

A cannonball explosion, however, would almost certainly break through.

Almost—because Ren hadn't tested it (thankfully).

Even now, his body bore bruises from gunfire—the kinetic force alone had left marks.

A shame, really. At this stage, jackpot-tier rewards weren't overpowered yet.

Later ones will be stronger and more complete—but that'll come with an even higher cost… Guess I'll have to strike it rich first.

As Ren pondered, a wave of fatigue swept over him.

The Sharingan's toll had already begun—his stamina drained steadily, like after a long sprint.
