Chapter 70 - I'm the Boss now

Stormbirds, like death scythes, rapidly plunged into the planet's atmosphere, leaving streaks of white in their wake as they pulled up.

The speed of these aircraft was so great that their armored hulls rubbed against the air at high velocity, generating terrifying heat and flames.

Like fiery meteors, they streaked across the sky.

The Stormbirds locked onto the ork strongholds on the ground and initiated bombing runs.

Lasers, missiles, and bombs rained down like torrents, bombarding the designated targets.

Small mushroom clouds bloomed on the ground, bridges crumbled, and buildings collapsed.

The surface defense systems were activated, and the orks' crude artillery roared in unison, filling the entire sky with a sea of lasers and explosions.

The Stormbirds, protected by small shields, burst through the fiery sky, circled once, and continued their ground attack, drawing a wave of fire away from the subsequent Thunderhawk gunships.

When the Thunderhawk gunships reached an altitude of four hundred meters, their ramps opened.

Due to the intense ground fire, the gunships were unable to land and could only drop the Primaris Space Marines from this height.

Argentius activated the magnetic locks on his boots, using the magnetic force to stand steadily inside the Thunderhawk gunship.

The Thunderhawk gunship shook violently; even with its shields raised and performing high-speed maneuvers, it was difficult to evade all of the ork fire.

It was a well-known fact throughout the galaxy that the orks' aim was terrible.

However, they compensated for this with overwhelming firepower, a saturation bombardment that was bound to hit something.

"For the glory of Ultramar, for the glory of the Silver Skulls!" Argentius roared, "Quickly, we must land as soon as possible and seize the anti-aircraft positions!"

"For the Emperor!" a Chapter brother shouted, striding forward, his power armor's servo-actuators bearing his weight and propelling him forward.

As he neared the ramp, he leaped out of the door.

His other brothers followed closely, running towards the ramp and jumping out.

Argentius was the last to jump out of the ramp.

After leaping out of the ramp, Argentius heard the rushing wind.

The Thunderhawks and Stormbirds streaked across the sky at high speed, creating massive sonic booms and leaving white trails in the turbulent air.

The aircraft provided aerial fire support for the airborne troops.

A height of four hundred meters was not enough to kill a Primaris space marine; with the Heart of Guilliman, they could quickly recover from non-fatal injuries.

After free-falling fifty meters, Argentius activated the power pack mounted on his back.

Powerful thrust flames ignited behind him, halting his descent and then changing his free-fall trajectory, sending him directly towards the enemy's artillery positions.

The orks quickly realized their descent, and a large volume of fire was directed towards their direction.

Argentius was hit once, causing a dent in his armor and sending him tumbling.

His machine spirit automatically corrected his trajectory, allowing him to maintain horizontal flight.

"Chapter Master, I thought you were going to be killed. I was a bit troubled, thinking I'd have to duel again."

A brother's teasing voice came over the comms.

The Chapter Master of the Silver Skulls had to accept challenges from those who disagreed with his leadership, though only on the day of his appointment.

Everyone was allowed to challenge the new Chapter Master's position through a duel.

Argentius had defeated every captain once back then.

"If you want to run for Chapter Master, wait another hundred years," Argentius said with a laugh.

"Then I'd better fight well. It would be embarrassing to die without even participating in a Chapter Master election."

"Hahaha, you're just a recruit who's only been in the service for ten years, and you want to be Chapter Master?"

"..."

Argentius ignored their jokes. His gaze remained fixed on the situation on the ground. Seeing a crude ork stronghold appearing on the surface, he issued an order, "Prepare for combat, the landing point has been marked."

He raised his bolter, and his chainsword also spun at high speed, emitting a whirring sound.

The orks standing on the stronghold platform roared in anger. They fired their shootas in all directions and brandished various crude but powerful weapons.

"Punishment has arrived," Argentius said softly.

Uf walked through the large, rusty, and decaying tunnel, his footsteps echoing within. His muscular arms pushed aside the hanging old wires.

His red eyes scanned every part of the tunnel, wary of potential underground monsters.

To obtain minerals, their tunnels had been dug very deep.

Every time they went up, it took a long time and required riding a mining cart.

He rubbed the big gun at his waist, feeling its weight. He was confident about killing the boss.

This gun was his most prized possession. Every part of it had been acquired by him personally.

Some were found in scrap heaps, others traded for with his teeth with other orks.

Finally, after spending many long, white teeth, he had a Mekboy help him shape it.

Uf thought this gun would take him to the battlefield, allowing him to stop digging.

He heard there were many big, green orks fighting the humies.

Fighting humies was the best. Winning brought the most benefits, with lots of weapons, lots of scrap, and even capturing small humies.

Those pale elves were poor and ran fast.

Dark elves were even poorer and ran even faster.

Metal shells were too hard, and poor, and they weren't WAAAGH! enough when they fought, only using ranged attacks.

Bad humies were the poorest of all; they lived by stealing from good humies.

All in all, humies were the best.

You could fight to your heart's content, get a lot of loot, find scrap everywhere, and find a lot of good stuff.

The tunnel lights flickered, and as Uf walked by, the wires crackled, dropping a lot of sparks.

Suddenly, the roar of an explosion came.

The entire ground shook.

It looked like a battle had started on the surface.

Did other clans come?

Uf's mind thought that other clans had come to fight.

This kind of thing rarely happened after the biggest ork Warboss appeared.

They were going to launch a WAAAGH!, so they couldn't fight each other; they could only fight the humies.

Thinking of this, Uf quickened his pace. He held his big gun in his hand.

The modified big gun could blast everything it saw into a mess of mud and debris.

As long as he held it, Uf feared nothing.

When he ran to the upper level, a group of grots were crying and running around in chaos, their peanut-sized brains unable to think much.

At this moment, they were just screaming two words: humie, humie.

The humies are here!!

Uf became even more excited.

He kicked away a grot blocking his path, hoisted his modified big gun, and charged up.

"WAAAGH! I'm the best ork, an ork warrior with a big shoota!"

When Uf ran to the upper level, he just happened to see those big humies landing.

They always wore shining full armor.

On the other side, the clan boss was also roaring. He held a huge hammer, and when he swung it, he directly sent two ork boys beside him flying.

"WAAAGH!" Uf charged over with his big gun.

Bang!

Uf pulled the trigger.

The huge sound was like a thunderstorm, shaking the entire stronghold.

The big humie he aimed at was completely unharmed, which made Uf pause for a moment. His gun was so powerful, it was impossible.

The roaring clan boss looked at the smoking hole in his chest, a big question mark appearing above his head.

How did such a big hole appear??

He turned his head and saw Uf holding a smoking big gun. Before he could speak, he fell to the ground with a thud, lifeless.

The battlefield, which had been in a heated struggle with orks roaring and humans also roaring, suddenly stopped.

After a gunshot, both orks and humans stopped and looked at the fallen clan boss, their faces all filled with astonishment.

Argentius was also a little stunned. It was well-known that the orks' aim was poor, and this was true, but to be this ridiculously bad was really a bit... a bit too much.

Such a large ork, radiating a full sense of oppression, was taken out by his own kind before he even made a move!!

Even in a play, you wouldn't dare to act like this!!

Uf looked at the quiet orks and humies, and then at the fallen boss. He didn't think too much. The boss was dead, so he was the boss now.

He raised the big gun in his hand and roared, "WAAAGH! I'm the boss! Follow me and chop these humies!"
