At nighttime, around the bonfire, everyone was sitting in a circle and talking amongst themselves. Nula and Susan were explaining their worry and suspicion about their husbands' well-being.
"Don't worry, Mom, nothing would happen to Father. He is very powerful. And anyway, it's a good sign that the Village Chief gave us our rightful money, otherwise I needed to go to them," Manu said as he laughed.
"Yeah, like the hell they would give money after seeing a skinny kid like you, haha," Lara said as she made fun of her brother. As their fun talk and laughter continued, Fuyu, who sat in between Nula and Susan, put his palm on Nula's soft thighs, caressing it gently.
Nula felt it as she looked at him and smiled.
