The woods were deathly silent. Not a single sound could be heard around June.
She carefully walked through the shrub as she held her blade tighter. The katana shimmered ever so slightly.
[Enduring Blade]
[An item that was given upon the slaying of [Steel Spike Porcupine]. This blade will last the user a long time.]
[Endurance: +3]
Shifting slightly, she scanned ahead. There was a small clearing behind the trees that she was approaching. In the clearing, four figures lazily slept on the floor.
Her eyes betraying no emotion, she moved closer, until she was at the edge of the clearing. Drawing the katana overhead, she took a deep breath.
A moment later, the blade swung down. A white tear shot out from the blade, carving a small line in the ground as it approached one of the figures.
Without any of the monsters noticing, it landed and sliced one of them straight open. The others quickly jolted awake scanning the area. The one that got sliced gave out a final whine as the light left its eyes.
[Lower-Tier 0 [Evergreen Wolf] felled. +4 Agility, +2 Intelligence gained.]
Side-eyeing the screen, June smirked. 'Yeah, this will do.'
Now with only three of the wolves left, June stepped out of the coverage. Now that she was closer, she could make out what they looked like.
They had brown bark-like skin, with grass acting as fur. Standing at eye height with June, these monsters were not small.
They instantly took notice of June, and a cacophony of howls echoed throughout the forest.
They quickly sprang into action; two of the wolves broke away from the larger one, probably the leader, to surround June.
Her eyes focused on the middle one, she readied her blade. Lowering her stance, she prepared to launch forward.
Though a second later, the ground shifted, and vines began to sprout from underneath it. Jumping back quickly to avoid them, June swung the blade to her left.
One of the wolves had already reached her. The wolf chomped down on the blade, as it flew towards him.
*clang*
Its bark-like teeth brought the blade to a screeching halt. This didn't faze June, as the smirk was still on her face.
Tightening her grip, a white arc bloomed from the blade, lighting up its mouth and cutting the wolf's head cleanly in two halves.
Ignoring the notification that popped up in her peripherals, she guided the blade in a horizontal arc. Spinning on her right heel, the blade swept to the wolf, now aiming for the back of her head.
The wolf quickly ducked under the swing and shot back up to bite her in the neck. Though, before it could reach its target a hand blocked its view. Hundreds of tiny white arcs bloomed across her palm as she slammed it into the monster's eyes.
Pieces of bark and brains flew everywhere as the cuts massacred the wolf's head. A moment later the wolf's body fell limp.
The ground once again shifted, and this time the vines moved much faster. Before she could react, the wines converged and wrapped around her right arm. Her eyes widened slightly at the strength.
The vines then constricted, throwing her across the clearing. With a heavy thud, she slammed into a tree.
Landing in a heap, she coughed blood and stared at the last wolf. Plunging her katana into the ground, she used it as leverage to slowly stand up.
Once again standing, she lowered herself into a stance. Narrowing her eyes at the wolf she took a deep breath in. The wolf growled as he stared her down.
A second later, she exhaled as she pushed forward into a sprint. The wolf, not far behind, tensed, and the ground around her shifted once more.
June jumped over a set of vines and then landed in a roll to avoid another. Coming back to her feet, she slashed her blade, cutting a vine aiming for her throat.
June frowned as she moved once again. A headache was starting to form. 'I have to end this fast, my mana levels are getting low.'
Ducking under another vine, June came to a halt. 'Shit.'
She fell into its trap. She was surrounded by vines. Before she could blink, they all moved simultaneously. Conjuring more of her mana, a bubble of small cuts appeared around her.
The bubble soon expanded, cutting up every single vine into pieces. But June still cursed. She hunched over and threw up more blood. Her mana had hit rock bottom.
The wolf's eyes glinted with arrogance as he watched the happenings. Knowing the signs of mana depletion, he knew she was now at her weakest.
Walking slowly toward the human, he ordered the last vines to disperse. He had to give credit to the girl, she had given him a good fight, as his mana was at half.
Finally arriving in front of the hunched-over human, the wolf looked her over once more before lunging jaw-first for her head. Victory for him was already a given.
In the open clearing, the moonlight shone gently onto both of them. The moon's reflection was painted onto her blade's surface as it swept through the air.
In a beautiful arc, the blade severed the wolf's head from its body. A moment later a thud could be heard as it landed on the ground.
[Mid-Tier 0 [Evergreen Wolf] felled. +6 Agility, +5 Intelligence.]
June stared blankly at the message. 'I would have definitely lost if it hadn't let its guard down.
Looking at the corpse of the wolf, she scowled. 'I need to get stronger.'
Gripping the sword tightly, she swung it to the side, throwing the green blood off the blade. A minute later she sheathed it.
"Status." She said, sighing.

June shook her head. Sighing, she started moving into the tree line again. A moment later her expression turned thoughtful.
'I hope you are doing fine, Finn.'
