Vaikai's gaze lingered on the glass as he spoke, his voice calm, almost instructional.
"No" he said, shaking his head slightly.
"That's just their essence. Their real bodies exist in the physical world."
Ameila frowned, stepping closer to the first glass. The woman inside still, pale, beautiful felt so real it was hard to believe she wasn't truly there. Slowly, hesitantly, Ameila reached out and touched the other glass.
It was cold.
She turned her head slightly, confusion written all over her face. "What physical world are you talking about?" she asked.
Vaikai opened his mouth to answer, then stopped. His expression changed instantly.
The body inside the glass, it flickered and began to fade.
Ameila's eyes widened. "What—?"
The figure dissolved like mist, breaking apart into thin strands of light before vanishing completely.
"No—!"
Vaikai moved faster than she could react.
