"Why are you being so nice, huh? Just shut up." The girl asked, sliding her chair a few inches closer to the wall, creating some distance between her and Luciferis, who was silently observing her.
'Barely any Vitin is in her body, that isn't possible naturally since Vitin is what makes life possible, it made the dieties inside the Pantheon Of Bhitania all on its own before getting tamed.'
He sighed slightly as he realised that this girl was as stubborn as a mule; he wouldn't get any major information with her, especially since she seemed to have tons of trauma.
His eyes flickered towards the blackboard for a moment. Theolian had drawn a few simple sigils used in combat by awakened individuals. Surprisingly, he was teaching very well.
"Now here is the Sigil of Elynox. The God of Poisons and Curses, whenever we get hit with a curse mid-battle, we can use this Sigil as a gamble to cancel the curse." Theolian turned towards the rest of the class, his fingers lighting up in a golden flame as he drew the Sigil of Elynox onto his body.
It was a circular shape with what seemed to be teeth and bones inside it. Alongside that, the Sigil also had a sword running through its centre.
"Now, this Sigil, like the others, requires some Vitin and favour from the Dieties, but unless you quite literally kill or harm the Saints, I'm sure you'll be in their favour."
Luciferis almost let a chuckle escape. In his previous life, he was unable to use any Sigils, simply because it was his habit to go around and pick fights with the corrupt inside the Pantheon.
'And Elynox is the most corrupt shit ever. Hell, his Saint is a good person, I don't know how dirt managed to find gold.'
"What are you thinking about?"
The girl asked, her dark red eye narrowing onto Luciferis's.
"Why should I tell you?" Luciferis leaned back. He had finally managed to see what the girl's features looked like, one a dark, bloody red eye, one bright green like fresh grass.
"Oi! Leonidas and uh... Erythromara, stop talking!"
Theolian reprimanded the two children at the back before continuing from where he left off.
"Now, I was talking about the weakness of each Elemental Group."
He sighed as he leaned his back against the backboard, crossing his arms over his chest.
"So, the strongest if Formless, every Element is wildly different from the other. So there's no single weakness, but they're rare, so let's just skim over them for the first lecture, right?"
Theolian was bored; that much was evident. He had begun playing with his hair.
"Then Cold Elements, they're obviously vulnerable to heat, but apart from that, they also require monstrous amounts of Vitin and mastery. So the best way to fight against them is to draw the fight out."
He sighed once more. He scratched the top of his scalp before letting out a loud, uncouth yawn.
"God teaching like this is boring... Hey, why don't we go out into the Magic Tower and annoy the hell outta those theoretical nerds?"
"Are we supposed to do that, Sir..?" A shy student raised his hand, but Theolian just grinned in response.
"Nope. But it's fun as hell. And, it's practical because we're learning provocation in combat!"
Luciferis' eyes widened in appreciation. It had been so long since he had actually picked a fight with someone and let loose his real personality.
'Theolian... We would've been best friends back then.'
"Creepy... Why are you staring at the teacher?" Erythromara spoke to Luciferis while staring at his neck; she seemed almost hungry.
"No reason." He noticed the girl's hungry gaze on his neck, and he had begun to figure out who Erythromara actually was.
(...)
The students walked behind Theolian, who was walking through the long and luxurious hallways of the building where the class was. Each year has its own building, but they all share the dormitories for some reason.
"So, when we get there, I want ya'll to follow a few rules." The teacher looked over his shoulder, still sporting a wide smirk on his face.
"First, if it gets heated, don't fight dirty, and no damaging actual property, unless ya wanna pay for it, don't break it. Oh, and finally, don't bully them too much. We're just asserting our dominance."
William looked at Luciferis, who was smiling from ear to ear, like a little gremlin, and Erythromara was trailing his every step, like a hawk stalking its prey, only that she appeared to be much more silly and less mature.
"Hey. Leonidas!" William shook his friend, who had begun rehearsing what he was going to say to the mages.
"What! I'm preparing my monologue!"
"You're the shortest person here! You're literally built like a twig right now! What monologue are you saying?!"
William and Luciferis both went back and forth as they caught the attention of Theolian, who observed them with a little bit too much enthusiasm.
"See! This is how I like my students! Rough and tough! Ya rich snobby brats! Yeah! Call Leonidas a dunce, William!"
Erythromara's ears perked as she heard Theolian, her eyes lighting up with the prospect of her teacher's approval as she pulled on both William's and Luciferis' hair.
"Ouch! Who the hell is this?! And why is her Grip so strong?!" William tried to pry Erythromara's hand off his hair, but the girl's strength was far too much for him.
Theolian was laughing like a maniac; he had yet to teach for more than 15 minutes total. Even though he was supposed to teach for the whole day.
"There's the girl! Hey Leonidas, what are you gonna do?"
He was cut off as Luciferis jumped up, kicking Erythromara across the face.
"Eh? A fight? Already? Damn, I'm getting lectured again..." Theolian trailed off as he noticed the small amount of Leonidas' blood that Erythromara swallowed.
'Oh shit... I think she forgot to take her medicine again... God, I should've just kept everyone in class today. Damn me and my bullying tendencies.'
Theolian smiled calmly at the rest of his students, who were silently observing Erythromara licking the rest of Luciferis' blood off her elongated fingernails.
"Alright~ You guys passed, this was to see if you would try and fight your fellow students who are totally acting! Now bully those nerds while I tell these stupid brats the test is actually over! My little overactors!"
The teacher snapped his fingers as the students got teleported away. Leaving Erythromara, Luciferis, and William in the hallway.
"Teacher... The boy's blood is too tempting... Blood blessed for combat is known to be a delicacy in my world, you know-"
Luciferis didn't wait for the girl to finish as his ring lit up in a glittery light, the ring suddenly transforming into a sword.
"Yeah, yeah, shut up, you're gonna pay for ruining my mood."
He swung his sword at her, but she disappeared into the shadows. The illumination orbs that lit up the hall were dimmer than expected. Did she have to do something with that?
But William, with brute force being his usual way of expressing emotions, grabbed one of the empty metal candelabra and slashed at the shadow Erythromara had crawled into, forcing the vampire to come out.
Before any one of them could attempt to move again, Theolian's commanding voice, coated with Vitin, stopped them all. The air felt hotter than the sun and sent shivers down their spine at the same time.
"I'm going to say this only once. If I notice you even looking at William or Leonidas, Erythromara, I am going to make sure you never see the daylight ever again. You're in the wrong here."
He approached the three who were frozen in place as he took Luciferis sword, snapping it in half like a toothpick.
"Even if you weren't wrong, I'd rather not piss off Adamas or Vilkens. Both are crazy for Leonidas... In a bad way."
Erythromara glared at her teacher, her eyes bloodshot and breathing ragged. It seemed like she was in a 'high' from Luciferis's blood.
"White hair... I see white hair..." Theolian narrowed his eyes at the vampire's strange statement, flicking all of their foreheads one by one, knocking them out.
"Light, huh? Interesting, Vampires see the memories of the people they drink the blood of, but she's also high... Oh well. Now I gotta deal with the Headmaster... That woman isn't going to let me go anytime soon."
Theolian felt a tap on his shoulder, light and almost unnoticeable.
"Huh? What the-"
He turned around, his long jacket flapping as he stood face to face with Mime, who had their signature smile on their face.
"I'd like my Young Masters back. Little Theo."
Theolian chuckled softly, stepping aside and letting Mime pick up Luciferis and William.
"Didn't expect to see you here... You have a ciga-"
"Yes," Mime replied, a cigarette floating out of their pocket and into Theolian's hand, "I knew you always wanted a cigarette no matter the situation."
"Well. Just be sure to brief the brats on Erythromara's condition. Alright?" The man said before lighting the cigarette from a flame on the tip of his finger. "Because you know..."
Mime nodded. Of course, they would do that. Or else the Orchels, being the Orchels, would probably wipe out every part of Erythromara's existence.
"Very well. But please, if you knock out my Young Masters again, I'll be sure to chop your fingers off one by one."
"Whoa, spooky little Mime at it again. But sure." The man replied sarcastically as Mime disappeared once more, now with Luciferis and William in tow.
Theolian was laughing, the smoke of the cigarette floating around him as he picked up Erythromara, walking towards the infirmary, a few minutes walk from the 1st Year Building.
