"Huh?" Simon Ford's expression fell, "Getting married at such a young age, what a pity."
Glanced at by Stellan Sutton, Simon Ford quickly put away his flippant look, patted Stellan Sutton's shoulder, "Come on, Stellan, there are some old friends over there, let's go chat. Over here, it's all people wanting to build connections, boring."
Stellan Sutton nodded, followed Simon Ford, and signaled Eve Sherman to follow.
There were many private rooms here, Eve Sherman followed them into one, inside were a group of young people idly playing cards together. Seeing Stellan Sutton, they enthusiastically came forward to greet him.
"Long time no see, Stellan."
"Yeah, I heard you were coming back a while ago, finally got a chance to see you today, really not treating your brothers like brothers."
"Come, come, let's play together, there's still some time before the auction starts."
As they spoke, they pulled Stellan Sutton to the poker table.
They played Texas Hold'em; Eve Sherman didn't know how, but the chips in front of Stellan Sutton kept growing, making the others exclaim, clearly, he was doing well and had won a lot.
"Stellan, you're too good! No way, let your companion play for you!"
Someone joked loudly, Stellan Sutton seriously turned to ask, "Want to try?"
Eve Sherman awkwardly smiled and waved her hands, "I don't know how..."
Simon Ford smoothly mediated, "Come on, she's already married, no teasing allowed!"
Only then did they let Eve Sherman go.
Eve Sherman couldn't help pondering that the married status was indeed useful.
In the workplace, it really saved her from a lot of trouble.
Stellan Sutton was quite socially adept and later managed to lose back the chips he had won.
Until the charity auction started outside, did this side begin to disperse.
The auction was nothing special, just some simple items, everyone bid money, and the funds raised were donated to charity.
Stellan Sutton bid on two paintings, spending a salary that Eve Sherman couldn't earn in several lifetimes.
After the banquet ended, Lucas waited outside in the car, Eve Sherman accompanied Stellan Sutton out.
"Darling!"
Wyatt Crawford waved to her from a distance.
Having just seen Rory Shaw and the others, Eve Sherman immediately messaged their group, initially wanting to find an excuse to ditch Stellan Sutton. Wyatt Crawford happened to be free and said he would come pick her up.
"President Sutton, may I go back on my own?"
Stellan Sutton glanced at Wyatt Crawford, his brow gradually furrowing.
Could this be the married person she referred to?
"President Sutton?"
Eve Sherman didn't wait for his reply, and called him again.
Stellan Sutton withdrew his gaze and nodded, "Of course."
"Thank you, President Sutton, see you at the company tomorrow!"
Stellan Sutton watched Eve Sherman lifting her skirt and jogging towards that man, who was looking her up and down with a grim expression.
He couldn't have mistaken it, Eve Sherman's husband was the one with whom his wife cuddled and felt abs in front of their house, who whispered sweet nothings in a bar.
Once in the car, he felt a headache coming on.
This world is really small, truly magical.
His wife was cheating on him with his assistant's husband.
And Eve Sherman seemed completely oblivious.
If she found out, how heartbroken she would be.
He frowned silently, Lucas looked somewhat worried into the rearview mirror.
"Are you unhappy? Was the banquet not enjoyable for you?"
Stellan Sutton shook his head, "Let's go."
On the way, as if remembering something, he asked in a deep voice, "Did you know Eve Sherman is married?"
Lucas was taken aback, "Huh? I didn't know, it's not mentioned in her profile. Maybe it's a secret marriage, what's up?"
"Nothing."
Stellan Sutton originally intended to have Lucas investigate more about this person who simultaneously betrayed him and Eve Sherman but thought better of it and kept quiet.
If this matter got out, it would surely affect Eve Sherman's state, and unpleasant rumors might impact him too.
Looks like a divorce should happen sooner rather than later.
