Gigi Thorne sensed some hostility from them and instinctively stood in front of Eve Sherman, asking coldly, "What are you here for?"
"What for? Don't be so tense. What could we possibly do to you two?"
Eve Sherman frowned slightly.
Previously, when she was at Sterling, they liked to talk about her behind her back, and sometimes even to her face, but it had never come to this, as if they were out for a fight.
Usually, it would just end at that point, they just wanted to indulge in gossip for a while.
But today it seemed that something had aggravated them, and they were unable to hold back.
"Say whatever you have to say."
Eve Sherman said calmly.
"What qualifies you to talk with us? I was wondering why you suddenly left Hess. Before, you seemed so in love with your work, but now you've landed yourself a married man. Aren't you impressive? Just resigning whenever you feel like it now?"
