Chapter 39 - Chapter 039: I Am Not The Same As Him

"If they are not trash, then what are they?"

All smiles disappeared from my face. Now my eyes are filled with coldness and authority. Slowly, deliberately looking at each of them.

The last one whom I looked at was none other than Francis Stronghold. He is capable, but just like the others, he was also greedily looking at the Kingsley Conglomerate's assets.

Not one of those who are in this meeting room truly cares for the conglomerate the way my family did. Of course, I, myself, am included.

Just that, compared to these people, I do not care about it, but I also have no plans of thickening my pocket at the expense of the conglomerate's demise.

Instead, I'd rather leave it to die on its own.

"All department heads may go back to their stations. I have returned your hard drives and marked the files you provided. Review them, and by next week, I shall check what you can improve from that," I said seriously.

"For those in the branch office. Send me all the reports you made for the past year on a hard drive. I don't care how far you are, but I need you to give them to me personally," I added, looking at the camera.

Then I turned to Hannah, who ended the video call.

One by one, the department heads started leaving.

Gary and Thomas Levin looked at Richard as they, too, left.

They barely made eye contact with me throughout the meeting. After I started shutting the board members down with the will, they both stopped glaring at me.

After the department heads left, I tapped my finger on the table.

"Now, shall we talk about how all of you let all those projects pass without inhibition?"

"Wasn't that approved by Riven Kingsley himself?" Gary Davidson commented.

I turned to him but did not say anything. I just stared at him.

Are all those who are named Gary stupid, just like this geezer and Richard's son?

He cleared his throat when I continued looking at him without saying anything about his comment.

Then he slowly turned to the rest of the board members, who were mostly looking at him with disbelief about what he had just said.

They must be thinking the same thing as me.

Is this guy serious about his comment?

Just how old is he for him to speak such stupid words?

"Will anyone tell me what's wrong with what Mister Davidson just said?" I said, looking at the rest.

No one spoke.

They are all still obviously indignant about following such a young chairwoman, especially with their age.

So why would they cater to me?

"Very well. If none will speak, we can just remove Mr. Davidson from the board."

The whole place went silent for the third time since the beginning of this meeting. All looked at me in disbelief, while some were frowning angrily at my words.

"You can't do that!" Gary Davidson instantly flared.

Indeed, this guy could be related to Richard and his son, since he reacts like this while speaking stupid things.

"I can't?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

I turned to Francis Stronghold, then to Richard Kingsley.

"Have you forgotten whose funds were mostly used for the conglomerate's expansion ten years ago? The reason why Leonard Kingsley became the CEO?"

Gary Davidson's face was drained of color.

"That's right. It was from Leonard Kingsley and Hannah Crow's personal assets. Allowing the century-old company to become bigger and be on par with the Sinclair Empire."

Even though the two families were considered on par this day. Kingsley Conglomerate was lagging behind Sinclair Empire.

It was only ten years ago when Father decided to step up and desired to push Kingsley Conglomerate forward that it finally reached the point where it is truly on par with the other century-old company, Sinclair Empire.

I crossed my leg over the other, clasping my hands together on the table.

"And that is why I hold... 65 percent of shares of this company. So why can't I?"

Riven did not use this power because he wanted to slave away while looking for clues regarding our parents' and grandfather's deaths.

But I am not the same as him.

I can wave this in front of these people, especially with the will he left, and they would only be able to grit their teeth.

This is the real reason why these people decided to kill our family off. To get their hands on all these shares.

I turned to Gary Davidson, who sat weakly on his chair.

"Now, will you tell me what's wrong with what Mister Davidson said?" I repeated my question.

Looking at each of them, waiting for someone to answer. If they speak, then they will be saving Gary Davidson's ass.

"We are still the board members. We should have vetoed Riven Kingsley's decision," Francis finally spoke.

"Yes, you all could have, but why did you not?" I said.

Once again glancing at Hannah, she opened and displayed the comparison of all the profits for the past eleven years on the big screen behind me.

"After what Leonard Kingsley did ten years ago. The profit skyrocketed, and over the years, it kept increasing."

I stood up and pointed at the profit of this year.

"Yet, within just a year, the profit even ended up much lower than the profit eleven years ago. Why is that?"

No one answered me again.

*Slam*

Slamming my hand on the big screen, I allowed my coldness and authority to rise even higher. The pressure I exude is much more than a while ago.

"The reason why the projects were allowed and why the annual profit was even lower than eleven years ago is that all of your pockets were the thickest during this past year."
