**Chapter 36: Kujou Sara and the Arataki Gang**
Outside the Fatui Harbinger's residence in Ritou, Inazuma, a crowd of Inazumans and Fatui agents jostled and argued.
"We demand to see Cloudrider Swordmaster, the author of *Ellie's Paradise of Bygone Days*!"
A Debt Collector snarled back, "Cloudrider Swordmaster? We don't have anyone like that in the Fatui!"
Kuroda stepped forward from the crowd. "His name is Jingchen. He used to be the Vice Priest of Narukami Shrine and the Vice Editor-in-Chief of Yae Publishing House."
The Fatui agents exchanged glances. They knew Lord Jingchen held many titles: Acting Tianshu Star, Immortal Disciple of Liyue, the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor Director's elusive son-in-law, and the white moonlight of the Tianquan and Yuheng Stars. But this was the first time they'd heard of his Inazuman identities.
The Debt Collector cleared his throat, feigning composure. "Lord Jingchen is now one of the Fatui's Third Seat Twin Stars, Lady La Signora's knight. He's long since left behind his roles as Vice Priest and Vice Editor-in-Chief. Please leave."
"You! We won't leave until we see Lord Sword Sovereign and know when Volume 3 will be updated!"
The Debt Collector and other Fatui agents frowned. If it weren't for Lord Jingchen's past as Vice Priest in Inazuma, they would have driven these people away long ago.
"Don't push your luck! Lord Jingchen has no time to update some light novel!"
Arataki Itto, wearing Hina's pain-inducing outfit, stepped forward.
"This great one wants to see his true form! I need to know what happens next in Elysia's story!"
The crowd erupted in righteous indignation.

The Debt Collector and other Fatui agents froze in place. The scene reminded them of the Ice Queen's mobilization ceremonies. But these people seemed even more fanatical than the Fatui themselves.
The Fatui agents began to retreat, exchanging worried glances.
"What do we do? These people... they might charge us! Should we stop them by force?"

The head of the Finance Commission stepped forward from the crowd, positioning himself between the two factions.

The only response to the old man's plea was the frenzied shouting of Arataki Itto and the crowd below the stage.
The head of the Finance Commission was stunned. *How could these people be so fanatical?!*

Seeing that Kujou Sara was accompanied by only two guards and no one else, the Inazumans scattered instantly, fleeing in all directions.
Hiiragi Shinsuke hadn't anticipated the arrival of the upright and formidable Kujou Sara. He seized the opportunity amidst the chaos to slip into the Fatui dojo against the flow of the crowd.
Kujou Sara tried to apprehend them, but her efforts were limited by her resources. She and her two guards managed to seize only six people in total, each grabbing one person with one hand.
Everyone else had fled, leaving Kujou Sara with Arataki Itto and the remaining members of the Arataki Gang.
"Kujou Sara! You did this on purpose, didn't you?! With so many people around, you just happened to grab this great one?!"
Kujou Sara snorted coldly. Dealing with the Fatui was troublesome, but the Arataki Gang? Child's play.
"Last time it was because of Miss Hina, and now what's your excuse?!"
Arataki Itto's gaze darted away, unable to meet Kujou Sara's eyes.
"Ah... what excuse? I... I don't know anything! Nothing at all!"
"Hmph. It seems many of those people were editors from Yae Publishing House."
"Kujou, you wouldn't dare provoke them! Lady Guuji of the Grand Narukami Shrine stands behind them. You can only bully us Arataki Gang."
"You—!"
Kujou Sara glared at Arataki Itto. Indeed, on Narukami Island, no one from the Tri-Commission dared provoke Yae Publishing House or the Narukami Shrine.
After all, both were backed by Yae Miko, the white-haired fox with divine blood.
The Raiden Shogun's retinue was terrifying beyond measure, possessing foxes that could command the very thunder.
Kujou Sara waved her hand.
"Take them back!"

Kujou Sara frowned again. That green-haired woman clearly possessed extraordinary abilities, yet she had joined the Arataki Gang—a blatant waste of talent.
She stepped forward, her gaze fixed calmly on the Fatui dojo.
A group of Fatui soldiers advanced to block her path.
"Kujou Sara, this isn't a place for you."
"I want to see your new Harbinger."
"If you have any business, we'll relay it for you."
Kujou Sara snorted coldly. The clan head had inexplicably ordered her not to provoke the Fatui, yet these Fatui were acting like tigers in Inazuma's territory, and abundant evidence suggested they were secretly supporting Watatsumi Island.
She wondered if this entire scheme had been orchestrated by Lord Jingchen within.
*Sigh, well, no matter. I should return to Kujou Encampment and prepare. That Sangonomiya Kokomi might launch a counterattack any day now.*

Inside the Fatui headquarters, Hiiragi Shinsuke walked alone down a corridor, when he suddenly bumped into someone around a corner.
Both were startled.
One was the head of the Finance Commission, the other was Kuroda, an editor from Yae Publishing House.
Hiiragi Shinsuke demanded, "What are you doing here?!"
"I should be asking you that! Lord Head of the Finance Commission! Why are you here alone in the Fatui's main base?"
"This old man... I was merely ordered by the Raiden Shogun to scout out the enemy's situation."
"I... I was also commissioned by Lady Yae Miko to conduct a general observation here."
Both could see through each other's lies and nervousness, but they tacitly agreed not to press the matter further.
One had come to question Jingchen about why the Shirasagi Himegimi, especially Kamisato Ayaka, had intensified their investigation into him, even dismantling several of his secret meeting points with the Fatui.
The other had come to urge Jingchen to submit his manuscript, demanding that he update *Ellie's Paradise of Bygone Days* on time, daily, at the specified hour, and in the required quantity.
