Chapter 20 - Chapter 19: When Heaven Misses

Chapter 19: When Heaven Misses

Rael actually looked a little surprised when the domain shattered around them.

"…Huh. You broke it," he muttered.

The Silver Shadow Wolf King, on the other hand, was in full internal crisis. His lungs burned, his legs ached, and he could feel the timer ticking down.

Less than thirty seconds… I have to win. I have to.

He roared and lunged at Rael again.

Rael sidestepped casually, avoiding the strike like he was dodging a falling leaf. With a flick of his fingers, the domain snapped back into existence—another six-hundred-meter space locking them in, as if it had never broken.

The wolf king's heart sank.

After everything, after all that mana, after cracking reality itself… this man just reopened a domain like it was nothing.

I can't win, he knew. He's on another level entirely. But I still have to win.

He made up his mind.

Until now, he had been holding back his true killing move. He needed Rael alive. He needed his help. But there was no choice anymore.

He gathered every last drop of mana inside him.

Lightning vanished.

Instead, a blinding golden-white radiance began to shine from within his body, growing so bright it hurt to look at him.

Rael's eyes narrowed with real interest. "So this is your final move…"

This attack wasn't just strong. It felt… sharp. Focused. Like the world itself was being turned into a single point.

The wolf king's voice echoed through the domain.

"This is my strongest technique… the one that can destroy an entire solar system—

Heaven's Spear."

His body compressed its power into one perfect line.

The light around him twisted, forming an invisible spear of pure annihilation.

Then he launched.

He didn't just move faster than light.

He erased the distance between them.

To anyone else, it would look like space itself had been pierced.

And then—

Boom.

He crashed, full-force, into the wall of Rael's domain.

He stared, stunned.

Why…? Why didn't it break like last time…?

He slid down, dazed, the barrier humming softly where he'd hit.

Rael, standing a few steps away, hadn't even broken a sweat.

"You're wondering why the domain didn't shatter like before," Rael said calmly.

The wolf king said nothing—but his eyes asked the question.

"I reversed the domain's structure," Rael explained. "Right now, the inside is much stronger than the outside. I sacrificed the outer shell to reinforce the inner walls. From the outside, it's fragile. From the inside…"

He tapped the invisible barrier with his knuckles. "You're not breaking this with that level of mana."

The wolf gritted his teeth.

He didn't stop.

He roared and threw himself at Rael again.

Then again. And again. And again.

Claws. Fangs. Lightning. Shadows.

One hundred million attacks in a single second.

But not even a single one touched Rael.

Rael walked, turned, leaned, tilted his head, and stepped aside with minimal movement—every strike missing him by the smallest possible margin.

He watched the wolf carefully.

This technique consumes too much mana, he thought. He's burning through his reserves like a fountain with no bottom.

The wolf's movements started to lose sharpness. His breathing grew harsher. Sparks around him dimmed. His legs felt heavier with each step.

Rael could see it clearly.

His stamina's at the limit.

The king of Silver Shadow Wolves slowed down. His attacks became easier to read. The pressure around him weakened.

Rael began to lower his guard slightly, already calculating the end.

And that's when it happened.

For just a moment—one heartbeat—the wolf's aura dropped completely.

Then it spiked.

His speed shot back to its absolute peak in an instant, faster than before, as he forced his dying body and empty mana core to move one last time.

His claw was inches away from Rael's chest.

So close he could feel the air it cut.

Rael's eyes turned red.
