Chapter 63 - The Lawgiver’s Sin (Julian’s Greed)

2999 AD, Six Weeks Before The Fall

Julian Thorne closed the final legal barrier to the Serenity Protocol. He had outmaneuvered every ethical committee, every sentimental objection. The law was now clean, pure, and absolute.

His wife, Isabelle, looked at him from across their living module. "You did it. You legislated away doubt. You made uncertainty illegal."

Julian allowed himself a small, satisfied smile. "I have brought order to the final frontier: the human heart. There is no higher justice."

His Greed for moral authority was sated. He had built a labyrinth of laws so complex that the simple, messy concept of free will could no longer find its way out. He had not just enforced the law; he had become it.

THE LAWGIVER: "You craved order so deeply you forged the chains yourself. You are the Jailer of Certainty."
