Chapter 216 - Chapter 217: The Impact Has Just Begun

At the entrance of Shuchi'in Academy's auditorium, students were walking out in an orderly manner under the guidance of teachers.

The first group of students who came out immediately saw the Japan Self-Defense Forces and FBI elite agents outside, who were preparing to launch a forced assault.

The two sides looked at each other. The teachers and students of Shuchi'in Academy were startled and screamed. Some turned and ran back into the auditorium, while others instinctively squatted on the ground with their hands over their heads, trembling. Their surrender posture was surprisingly professional.

These students were now so frightened of armed personnel that they had developed a trauma-like reaction.

Rei and Shuichi immediately noticed the situation and quickly shouted to the team behind them, "Put away your weapons, put them away!"

A student who ran back into the auditorium shouted at Toru, who was comforting several crying girls,

"F-Fujiwara-Kaichou, there are still many armed people outside!"

This shout caused another wave of screams inside the auditorium.

"Quiet down!"

Toru shouted.

With his current authority, even the frightened students immediately calmed down, filled with a strong sense of security.

Yes, with Fujiwara-Kaichouprotecting them, they would not be afraid of any terrorists.

Countless gazes, regardless of gender, were filled with admiration, worship, love, fanaticism, and respect.

Toru frowned, immediately sensing something was wrong. Why were there still terrorists? They should have all been eliminated.

But in the next moment, he realized these were likely not terrorists, but forces sent by the authorities who had entered the academy.

He quickly explained to the frightened students,

"Wait here for a moment. I'll go out and take a look."

Iino looked up at his departing figure.

She was a serious girl who pursued justice, always strict with herself and others, which made her unpopular.

At this moment, she seemed to finally understand what true justice was.

That justice had a name, Fujiwara Toru.

The girl's admiration turned into a flurry of pink hearts.

"Mutsumi, are you okay!"

Soyo rushed over, hugging Mutsumi tightly as she cried.

Mutsumi shook her head expressionlessly. Looking at the tears in Soyo's eyes, she said softly,

"Soyo, don't cry. I'm fine."

"Okay, I won't cry, I won't cry."

Even as she said that, Soyo's tears kept falling.

She had almost witnessed her friend's death.

The drifting distance in their friendship was instantly replaced by a bond as close as family.

The two comforted each other for a while, then looked together toward Toru leaving the auditorium.

In Mutsumi's golden eyes, there was a determination that had never been there before.

Soyo, on the other hand, was even more infatuated, thinking of the night she had been tricked into giving herself to him.

She had been worried, thinking Toru had only played with her.

But now, she finally understood what it meant for a girl to fall completely.

As he walked out of the auditorium, Toru casually uploaded a video to the internet through a dummy account.

There was no other choice. His dramatic entrance and the scene of eliminating terrorists with precise headshots had not been recorded by anyone.

He could only upload the footage captured by the hidden cameras inside the auditorium.

He wanted fame. He wanted the admiration of all of Japan.

At the same time, he used this footage to reduce the impact of the drone usage as much as possible.

After all, the drone AI system he used was a terrifying piece of advanced technology that could influence the outcome of local warfare.

When Toru stepped out of the auditorium, Rei and Shuichi both saw him.

Rei was overjoyed.

Since Toru was safe, it meant the terrorists had indeed been eliminated.

"It's him, Adam Spencer."

Shuichi murmured.

He still remembered that a few months ago in Metropolitan, it was Toru who had caused chaos and killed more than ten Mossad agents.

Of course, Shuichi did not know that the one who had recently engaged him in a sniper duel with a rocket launcher was also Toru.

The only thing certain now was that Shuchi'in Academy was safe.

Rei and Shuichi exchanged a glance and immediately gave orders,

"Quick, call the medical teams outside to come in. The rest of you, follow me and continue searching the school for any suspicious individuals."

Outside the school, reporters from all over the world had gathered. Hundreds of ambulances were already in place, along with countless police vehicles, more than twenty armored vehicles, and large crowds of onlookers.

When the overall commander received the report from inside the campus, he was surprised at how quickly the team had secured the hostages.

However, there was no time to think further. He immediately ordered all medical personnel to enter.

Seeing the large-scale movement, the reporters became even more frantic, filming everything.

"What's going on? Why such a massive mobilization?"

"So many doctors and nurses have gone in. Have the terrorists been dealt with?"

"What happened? Doesn't anyone know?"

"..."

"Quick, everyone, open X, there's a video!"

Someone shouted, and people immediately took out their phones.

In a very short time, a video was uploaded online, gaining millions of shares and spreading worldwide.

The video showed Toru descending like a god, wiping out all the terrorists in one sweep, saving all the teachers and students, and being surrounded and supported by everyone in the auditorium.

The sound of crying gradually grew louder.

It was not sorrow, but joy.

Many parents of Shuchi'in Academy students had gathered here. Seeing that their children were alive and the terrorists were dead, they cried with relief.

Some mothers with weaker nerves even collapsed to the ground.

Kogoro held his phone, refreshing the video repeatedly, unwilling to miss a single frame. He desperately searched for his daughter in it.

But the footage covered too small an area, and there were too many hostages. He could not find Ran.

Still, he believed she was safe.

"Megure, did you see it? Did you see it? Ran is saved, she's okay, she's alive!"

"That brat, I won't scold him anymore. I even want to thank him."

Kogoro covered his eyes and sobbed.

"I saw it, I saw everything, Mouri."

Megure patted his shoulder firmly, comforting him.

Looking at the video in disbelief, he sighed,

"Fujiwara, this... this is unbelievable. If he doesn't become Japan's Prime Minister, it's against reason."

In the distance, Eri and Yukiko embraced each other.

They had been worried about Toru's safety, but they never expected him to accomplish such an impossible feat, rescuing all the hostages. Both Ran and Shinichi were safe.

This was because just moments earlier, after the signal jamming ended, both Ran and Conan had sent messages confirming they were safe.

The two women, each with their own charm, wiped the tears from their eyes and looked at each other, a certain emotion flashing between them.

They wanted to go crazy with their little lover again.

...

Elite members of the Self-Defense Forces and FBI continued searching the academy for any remaining terrorists.

Rei and Shuichi went to inspect the most intense battlefield.

They walked through the ruins of a building that had been blown apart, looking at the countless armed bodies scattered among the debris.

Some bodies were torn apart, others remained relatively intact.

And every intact body had a bullet wound in the head.

Shuichi picked up a piece of drone wreckage.

"These terrorists were all taken out by drones."

"The drone swarm we saw earlier was attacking them."

His eyes flickered.

"What kind of technology is this? Does America already have this level of tech?"

Rei's eyes widened in shock.

Shuichi shook his head.

"As far as I know, America doesn't have this kind of technology."

"Could it be some classified CIA tech? That shouldn't be the case. If they had it, it would have already been used in warfare."

Rei fell silent.

That was true. If such technology existed, current conflicts would have already changed drastically.

Street battles would not even be possible anymore.

Both of them were confused.

Nearby, Japanese personnel were collecting drone debris, intending to study it.

But they did not know that these drones were built with ordinary components, not even comparable to high-altitude reconnaissance or strike drones.

No matter how much they studied them, they would find nothing.

The true advanced AI system existed only in Toru's hands.

The students and teachers of Shuchi'in Academy were escorted out.

Some parents rushed forward, crying as they embraced their children.

Of course, not everyone was unharmed.

Some students had been severely beaten for resisting. Others had been shot and were in critical condition.

But compared to the scale of the incident, these casualties were minimal.

The hostage crisis at Shuchi'in Academy was coming to an end.

But its impact had only just begun.

...

Langley, America, CIA Headquarters.

Spencer swept everything off his desk and roared angrily,

"What's going on? Who can tell me what the hell is happening?"

"Those idiots, those idiots! So many of them, and they still couldn't kill a single Adam?!"
