Chapter 36 - Camping Mobile

[Hyundai Tuscan Hybrid]

4 AM

Bo moved in the pitch darkness, the car's warning lights waa the only source of light, the sounds of the forest didn't bother him, he was used to its eerie tune during his lumberjack days. His focus was on the bonnet, and the back seat was laid down, blankets hugged the corners, and he arranged the portable torch in the far left corner, pillows from the guest room arranged by the lowered seats and a snack basket just in reach. His car turned into a DIY bed.

"This is perfect. "He admired his camping set.

"This is impressive Bo." A voice spoke behind him.

"Whipping his head to the voice he outlined Jane and the sisters, wrapped in the bed sheet like emergency witnesses.

"How did you find me?" He questioned, body relaxing a bit after the initial shock.

"I'll always find you, Bo...always. " Jane proclaimed, moving to examine the interior.

"What are you doing Bo? Planning on camping in your car while we freeze in there without our human heater." Bobbi jabbed at him, hopping into the back, claiming her spot in his makeshift bed.

"Bobbi, I'm not–"

"Get in Bo–You're letting in the cold." Faith nudged him inside.

"I really can't have a moment alone."

"Exactly. Everything you do is with us...well except for anything to do with work." Jane added.

They huddled around him, taking their usual spots on his resting form.

"Move your cold Jane."

"Don't drool this time Red."

"Bo, can I eat the chocolates now?"

"Faith. It's 4 AM and you had a feast the night prior. "He looked at her with full concern about her appetite.

"Yeah that night prior, not now." She retorted.

"..."

"Don't ignore me, Bo!"

"Fine, just don't kiss me with Coco Breath. "

"H-Hey! That's offensive that you think my kisses are unpleasant." She huffed," You shouldn't say such about a maiden. "

"You a maiden? Pftt–You literally eat every meal like it's your last." Jane giggled.

"I'm just appreciative of Bo and Bobbi's cooking."

"Sure thing freckles."

"You should be the last person judging me Jane."

"Why is that?"

"You stuff your mouth like a squirrel in nut haze."

"Comparing me to a park rodent is blasphemous! I'm clearly a majestic bat, Faith."

"Same thing–one just happens to be able to fly." Freckles smirked smugly, a rare feat of besting Jane in a verbal dispute.

"I'm both and mad at your new confidence Freckles." She begrudgingly admitted.

"I learnt it from the best."

"Flattery will get you everywhere with me."

"Could you two hush. It's nearly sunrise and I have no intention of leaving this spot. Bobbi gestured by snuggling closer to Bo, who is still brooding about his car invasion.

"I can't even brood in peace." He muttered.

"Hush–Bo. Just fulfil your purpose of keeping us warm~" Jane rested her head on his chest, purring to the rhythm of his heartbeat.

Faith dozed off on his left shoulder, securely tucked in his arm, and the redhead was out for the count.

"I love you, Bo." She mumbled in her sleep.

"I love you too Faith. Also you, Bobbi and Jane."

Their bodies drifted off to the dream realm, sheltered by his car and wrapped in his comfort. Morning will have to wait for then to escape this bliss.
