Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Return

Doma slowly opened his eyes, and the scene before him had changed; it was no longer the Infinite Castle filled with an eerie atmosphere.

At this moment, he was sitting upright on the tatami mat in a magnificent room.

Recalling everything that had just happened, a faint smile crept onto his lips. "This is getting more and more interesting," he murmured softly.

Doma gently stroked his chest, where Ryūri had once punched him through, but now not a trace of the wound remained.

"Wow, that's impressive. He just became an Upper Moon, yet he dared to attack me, Upper Moon Two? His courage even surpasses Akaza's." He thought to himself, feeling a bit curious and interested in this newly appeared Upper Moon.

Just then, a soft knock on the door interrupted his thoughts.

A human cautiously pushed open the door and said in a low voice, "Master, the believers are all ready."

"I understand." Douma temporarily set aside the matters of Ryuri, reached for the priest's cap placed to the side, slowly put it on, then rested his chin on his hand and replied with a smile, "Let them in."

...

"...That's all for now. As for whether there are any people with the surname Yan Chuan that you're looking for, we haven't found any yet."

Chunyou sat opposite Longli and said respectfully.

Longli was feeling drowsy, but he forced himself to stay awake after the spring outing was over: "Huh? Where were you? Are you done?"

Mei sighed and rubbed her forehead in exasperation: "From now on, don't bother Lord Longli with things like spring outings. Just come and report to me, understand?"

"Yes, Miss Mei."

"By the way, Lord Ryuri."

Mei suddenly thought of something: "In the future, I may have to go to those brothels often, and I won't be able to come back often."

"Sure."

"What? I thought you'd be disappointed to hear me say that, but you didn't react at all."

Long Li said, "Just do what you want to do."

Mei was deeply moved. She sighed and said, "After all, Youguo is so big. If Chunyou were to manage it alone, it might not be enough. My Blood Demon Technique can be used to monitor it."

I've already decided. From now on, I'll use my identity as a courtesan to hide myself, so no one will suspect my true identity.

"Whatever you want, just don't attract the demon hunters."

Long Li said, "If the ghost hunters discover that there are ghosts gathering in this place, then we'll have to find another place to live."

"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."

Mei pouted, "Lord Longli, please don't think I'm stupid and can't do anything. I'm very capable now, okay!"

"Yes, yes," Longli said gently. "Meizhao is indeed much smarter now than when I first met her."

During the spring outing, she pouted, trying hard not to laugh out loud.

The shadow behind Mei also trembled.

Mei instantly flew into a rage: "Brother, don't think I don't know you're hiding in my shadow and laughing! It's so noisy!"

"Ha ha ha ha!"

This time, everyone couldn't help but burst into laughter.

"Oh, so you and Lord Ryuri just think I'm stupid, right?!"

"I didn't!" Gyutaro quickly denied.

Mei snorted coldly: "Your excuses are useless. I'm going to punish you by not letting you eat for three days!"

"Forehead..."

After Mei finished speaking, she reached out and summoned a ribbon.

The ribbon grew eyes and a mouth, and came before Lord Longli like a snake.

Within each ribbon is a human figure with a terrified expression, as if a painting has been printed upon it.

"Ding ding ding ding, it's lunchtime! Lord Ryuri, please select today's dishes!"

Longli randomly pointed to someone: "This one will do."

"Hehe, here I come!"

Mei controlled the ribbon and spat out a man.

The man's hands and feet were bound with rope, and his mouth was sealed. At this moment, he could only look at Longli with a desperate gaze.

"Lord Longli is about to have his meal, so get out of here and stop getting in my way," Mei said coldly to Chunyou.

"yes."

Chunyou quickly stood up, lowered his head, and retreated, saying, "Then I'll be going now, Lord Longli."

Longli did not respond; his attention was focused on the human in front of him.

"Is this what you brought back last time?"

"Yes, Lord Longli." Mei smiled, her eyes crinkling. "This time, our grain reserves are enough to feed us for several months."

"The meat won't taste good if it sits for too long."

"Shut up, brother!"

"oh."

Mei smiled sweetly and said, "Please, Lord Longli."

"Waaah..."

The human, whose hands and feet were bound, let out desperate whimpers and struggled incessantly.

Ryuri stretched out his finger and gently poked the eyeball of the person in front of him. He said in a calm tone, "A phrase that the Demon Slayer Corps often says is 'Demons are not worthy of sympathy,' but compared to these humans, the smell they exude is much stronger than that of demons."

As he spoke, he began to break down the food in front of him and then started to enjoy it.

Suddenly, Longli stopped moving.

"What is it, sir?"

Long Li continued working, calmly saying, "Five kilometers to the west, during our spring outing, we encountered a murderer who kills ghosts. He's in danger. Go help him, and remember to be quick."

"Didn't she just leave? That unlucky guy!"

Mei stood up, cursing. Although she hated Chunyou, she knew that Chunyou couldn't die yet because they still needed her to control Youguo. She was still useful to Lord Longli.

Mei's figure vanished instantly, and the entire room became eerily quiet, save for the sound of Long Li chewing.

Click, click!

That was the sound of him chewing bones.

...

"Brother, the spring outing is five kilometers away from us. How did Lord Longli sense that she was in danger?"

"have no idea."

"How come you don't know anything? Honestly, I knew it would be pointless to ask you, so I shouldn't have asked you at all."

"Lord Ryuri's strength has increased again."

"Gyuu Taro suddenly said."

"I know, isn't it normal for Lord Ryuri to get stronger?"

"No, I mean Lord Ryuri's strength has become even stronger since he entered that Infinite Castle!"

Gyutaro raised his head. Although he couldn't see, he always felt as if there was something on his head. It felt like he was inside Lord Ryuri's Blood Demon Art.

Thinking of this absurd possibility, he shook his head. What was he thinking? How could Lord Ryuri's Blood Demon Art possibly cover such a large area?

...

In the quiet courtyard, Long Li took out a handkerchief and wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. A cup of tea was placed in front of him.

He didn't drink it, but stared at the tea in the cup. Two small red dots in the tea were rapidly approaching several other small red dots in the distance.
