Chapter 34 - Chapter 34. Girlfriend

Then the two continued on their way. Sigurd couldn't help but think about it. "How interesting! When did you become a magician?"

"Genetics," Ed replied casually, his gaze drifting across the alley to a 'Love House' where a beautiful woman was dragging a man inside to show him heaven. He couldn't help but feel a pang of envy.

"Genetics?" Sigurd repeated, his head full of confusion; it was definitely the first time he had heard such a strange word.

"Enough now," Said Ed, who couldn't take it anymore. He turned around with a frown. "For the last time, I'm asking you: where are we going? If you don't tell me, you can go alone. I have plenty of better places to visit, and I can't waste my time with you."

"Alright, don't be so impatient. I have to get some medicine. Come with me; you can see if there's anything helpful for your seasickness as well."

As he spoke, Sigurd led the way. The two walked around a few streets until they arrived at the other side of the beach. The entire port city was located in a sunken area, with the main ports on the right side of the recess; they were now on the left. Ed looked at the small shop in front of him, and his eyebrows raised again.

[Charming Words]

He couldn't help but turn and stare at Sigurd. "Good boy," he said with a hint of disappointment. "Looking at your thick eyebrows and big eyes, I wouldn't have guessed you like this. But I don't think this is a good place for that kind of thing; I saw many better ones on the way."

Seeing Ed's look and hearing words he shouldn't have understood, Sigurd waved his hands quickly. "Don't get me wrong, this is just a pharmacy!" He said with an awkward smile. "I don't know what kind of weird plant the owner ate to come up with such a strange name; it has nothing to do with medicine."

From the corner of his eye, he saw Ed giving him a knowing nod, it was obvious he didn't believe a word of it. To save his image from being ruined in Ed's mind, the poor, helpless Sigurd quickly dragged him inside.

"Sigurd? You're here!"

They had hardly walked into the shop when a beautiful girl with wheat-colored skin, shoulder-length blue hair, bright blue eyes, a wonderfully seductive figure without any extra fat, C-cup breasts, cool clothes, and a white headband came over with a smile. She hugged Sigurd tightly and leaned her face against his chest.

Seeing this scene, Ed immediately started clapping and whistling. To Sigurd's ears, those whistles were no different from a declaration of doom.

After hugging his girlfriend long enough, he hurriedly spoke in a stuttering, nervous voice, as if he were talking to his mother and not Ed. "Listen to my explanation, Ed! It's not what you think! Jenna, can you please move aside first?"

"What's wrong?" Jenna, who had no idea what was going on, dazedly let go of Sigurd and stared at him confusedly before moving her gaze to Ed, who was looking at them with a playful smirk.

After that, poor Sigurd had to explain everything honestly, and he literally begged Ed not to tell Aunt Marcy. Our kind-hearted Ed could only nod helplessly while enjoying a shoulder massage from Sigurd.

Well, the matter was simple. It turned out this girl, Jenna, was Sigurd's girlfriend. When did this happen? There was no clue regarding this information in Ed's memory, which meant that although Sigurd usually couldn't keep a secret, he had guarded this one deeply. They had been in a relationship for more than a year, which was definitely no small achievement for Sigurd.

"Hello, you must be Edward. May I call you Ed? I've often heard Sigurd talk about you. I'm Jenna Dice. You can just call me Jenna."

Jenna generously extended her hand, and Ed shook it, behaving like Aunt Marcy and nodding with a satisfied look on his face.

"Sigurd's a bit of an unreliable guy. I hope he hasn't given you too much trouble, and don't try to defend him, I know how hard he is to handle. You are really working hard. By the way, may I ask what you saw in this idiot that made you fall in love with him?" Saying that, Ed pointed at Sigurd, who was hurriedly picking up all kinds of weird medicines from the shop as if he had a ship to catch.

"It's really hard for me to believe you chose this guy..."

"Ed, I am not deaf, I can hear you! For Stone Mother's sake, can you stop trying to ruin my love life?" Sigurd, who finally couldn't take it anymore, hurriedly interrupted, doing his best to control himself from beating the hell out of him.

"Shut up, I'm talking with my sister-in-law; you have no right to interfere. Otherwise, be ready to face Aunt Marcy when we go home. I don't believe you'd dare to interrupt her," Ed, now in full fun-making mode, yelled back, completely silencing him with the name of his almighty aunt. Poor Sigurd could only speed up his packing so he could hurriedly kick Ed out of his girlfriend's shop and house.

Jenna, who was watching the sweet conversation between the two "brothers," felt her cheeks turn red when Ed bluntly called her 'sister-in-law,' and her impression of this sweet brother-in-law instantly maxed out.

However, just as she was about to say something, Sigurd hurriedly came over, stuffed all the medicine packages into Ed's arms, and patted his shoulder solemnly with a forced smile, veins bulging on his forehead. "My good brother," he said through gritted teeth, "you go back first. Just so you know, I'm not coming back tonight, so if you're scared of sleeping alone, you can hide under the blanket. I hope you have a good night..."

"Ouch!"

While Sigurd was about to forcibly push out Ed, who wore an expressionless face, starring a third-rate act, Jenna pinched his waist hard with a frown, making him cry out in pain before she looked at Ed and spoke with a gentle smile.

"Ed, looking at all those bags, it seems you guys have been shopping a lot today. Why not come inside and have lunch together? I would be very happy if you joined us."

"Sure, sister-in-law! As expected of you, you are as kind as you are beautiful. Unlike some other ungrateful people who just want to throw their younger brother out, hungry and thirsty, with all the supplies... there's no humanity in them at all." After saying that, Ed stuffed all the medicine back into Sigurd's arms, gave him a mocking smile, and happily walked into Jenny's house at the back of her shop.

Damn it, Sigurd thought. If I had known this bastard had such a sweet tongue, I would never have brought him here. Now I just hope he doesn't say anything to ruin my perfect image in Jenna's eyes. Thinking this, Sigurd helplessly closed the shop door from the inside and hurriedly followed them into the house.
